    Default Dancer Rivalry

Ok so I went to Ten's last night (the new club I want to work at) to check it out and get an application and whatnot. I saw a couple girls I already knew from back in high school and we were hanging out and talking. It got to be around 11:30 and some new girls got there and one of the girls Crystal used to date my ex-boyfriend TJ. Me and TJ just broke up like 2 months ago and they have been broken up for 1 1/2 years. I didn't think anything of it and I tipped her on stage. But the bouncer walked up to me and asked me to come to the bar. He told me Crystal and I had some past issues and she didn't feel comfortable with me there and asked me to leave! :o [what] [flaming] I talked with him for a few minutes and explained the situation and he told me she's a stuck up bitch and nobody likes her and she's been fired like 5 times already. He told me to get a job anyway and until the conflict is resolved just don't work the days she works.

But I think that is unfair! I haven't done anything to her except date her ex and it's not like I stole him from her or anything. I don't think I should have to change my schedule to accommodate hers and I don't want to go to a new club where there's bad blood already. I have friends there who will back me up against her but I hate having this dancer rivalry thing and I wouldn't put it past her to sabotage me. What should I do? [cry] [frustrated]

I'm not a dancer either (yet) but I still feel like "what does that have to do with you" Who gives a care about how no one in there likes her? Shes in there to make money, as are you! If she's been fired so many damn times, why does she keep getting seniority?? Now since she feels that she doesn't want you there, did she take the tip you gave her? That's really petty of her. Maybe she doesnt' like the fact that you will be competition. And I still for the life of me dont understand how the bouncer could ask you to just up and leave like that!! Did he put u on the schedule, no I don't think so. I would just re-assure him that I'm here to make money just like everyone else, and that you can't please everybody!

First of all, did you notice any tension between the two of you? It was the bouncer who pulled you aside and said there was conflict. Maybe you should just try to talk to Crystal yourself and work out the situation. You shouldn't sacrifice a possibly lucritive opportunity to work at a great club because of someone else's immaturity. Screw her.

I think you should go work there and work whenever you want. If she starts shit with you ignore it. Don't stoop to her level. Once she sees that she doesn't bother you she'll get tired of it. Kill 'em with kindness! (It works too )

I didn't notice any tension between us in the club, I didn't even think that she would remember me because we only saw each other like twice and that was more than a year ago and I wasn't even dating TJ yet. So I don't know what she has against me.

First thing I'm going to do when I start there is talk to her. I would rather try to work out the situation than just butt heads with her all the time and keep up the animosity.

Cinammonkisses, I don't exactly understand what your trying to say. I don't know why she keeps getting seniority. She did take my tip and didn't say anything or give me a dirty look. But she doesn't know I was there to check the place out, she doesn't know I want to get a job there. I also didn't know a bouncer could make someone leave just because a dancer felt uncomfortable dancing in front of someone. I think that's pretty ridiculous since I was just sitting there minding my own business. Umm I just picked up an application I didn't get hired so no he didn't put me on the schedule and the bouncer doesn't put you on the schedule anyways, he just advised me that to keep conflict to a minimum to not work the nights she works till we work it out. The bouncer had no problem with me, he was very nice and apologetic for Crystal's behavior.

I talked to a friend of mine who was friend's with TJ when him and Crystal were dating and he said that she was psycho. She would take his car keys so he couldn't leave and call his parents and shit. She would beg him to have sex with her after they broke up. I guess that's why they broke up but I don't know for sure because TJ and I never talked about her.

I don't want her to make the other girls who don't know me yet, hate me and try to sabotage me.

one very telling comment is that this other dancer Crystal has been fired 5 times in the past yet the club keeps hiring her back. This would tend to indicate that Crystal either has some "special relationship" with club management or that she is a huge earner for the club. In either case, you may very well find yourself on the wrong end of a management decision if you choose to force the situation to the ultimatum stage. Even though it's unfair as hell, I would say that your options under the circumstances are to either schedule yourself around Crystal or start investigating other clubs.

I was about to post the same thing about Crystal being a good earner or having something going with someone in mgmt. They don't keep firing and re-hiring troublemakers for no reason. If it's a good money club, I would still try to work there, but be careful. From the sound of things, talking to this girl probably won't do any good, and it may even rile her up more. 'Psycho' girls don't respond well to reason. I'd just go to work and do my thing, and be very careful to give her wide berth. Make your money. If she starts something with you, and mgmt sees you are a good earner and you haven't been a troublemaker, you shouldn't have a problem. Of course if she's doing one of the managers, you're pretty much out of luck. But I say it's still worth a shot if it's a good money club. If you try it and it doesn't work out, there are other clubs. If you don't try it, you may be missing a good opportunity.

One good thing comes out if this visit last night. You know you will be walking into a hostile environment. She has been FIRED 5 times ? And now back working ? What is all this telling you about the club.

I guess i would try a different shift if there is money there, and friends. Otherwise, i would tell the club "to go to hell!"

5 TIMES.....She must be a damn trouble maker, and money maker....Gee.

I would definitely be careful if you plan on talking to this girl. If she's been fired and rehired again 5 times, then she is probably a fave with the management and a top earner in the club.
I used to dance with a woman who was like this. Always getting fired and then hired back again. She got fired for the grossest things like throwing dirty tampons all over the dressing room, pissing in the trash cans, showing her pussy to everyone while on stage(it's was a topless only club), prostitution, you name it. But they always hired her back because she made lots of money for the club. And when she got into fights with the other girls, the management tended to take her side most of the time, because she was a moneymaker.
Just be careful. Politics inside the club can really suck sometimes, and you don't want to be on the managements bad side for pissing off their favorite girl.

Errr. I hate those girls that are trouble makers yet get hired back on the next day! Theres this girl at my work and she's been there for like 10 yrs and she gets all drunk and yells at everybody and throws stuff at people in the locker room. Everybody's cool with it I'm like [what]!!!!! If she threw shit at me intoxicated or not, it's ON!! I get in 1 little arguement over music with the DJ (because he's such a jerk to me, I won't give it up to this perv so he treats me really bad ) and the manager who acts like my best friend comes over to chew me out [argh]. I'm like you work for my tips!! Be nice to me. Anyways, I'm so sorry Shayden18! I feel for ya! It's like they make good money so they won't get thrown out of the club but I make damn good money too and they treat me like crap! So now I'm like "ya whatever" to all the staff and mind my own business. If I were you I wouldn't change my schedule for that BIOTCH. RRRR Sorry I'm getting all worked up when I think about it. Trust me this erks me enough! I hate when a dancer doesn't like me, there's already enough drama at work, ya know.

She got fired once I know because she was doing alot of drugs and she would never go to work and if she did she would leave after half an hour or so. Coming and going when she felt like it. But I guess she got her stuff together and works like everyday now.

This is the best club in my town, traveling is not an option for me right now and I'm not going to pass up a chance for this club. The money is well worth it to work there even if she does hate me. I'm just going to mind my own business and not talk to her because I don't think it would make it any better, she'd just hate me more.

TJ talked to her last night and he told me that she said she got me kicked out because I had no business being there because I'm not old enough (21 to get in and 19 to dance) and I was taking all the customers [what]. At this point, I'm like WHAT! I was in the audience, how am I going to take all the customers when I'm sitting with them!?! And yeah I'm not 21 but I did talk to the bouncer and told him I was checking out the club and he said that was fine.

I don't care I'm there to make money and at least I know what to expect from the girls now. Why can't all strippers be as nice as us? When my foot is healed I'm going to work there anyways, screw her.

Shay, you're dang right it's unfair but until things are worked out I'd say it's best that you schedule your days opposite from hers. Some people just can't get over their petty jealousies so just give her the space . It's probably the best for both of you.
