Default Pole in your home--get one!

I just moved back into the house I left two years ago, with a pole in the living room. It is great to be back there, even if one of my roomates wound up getting arrested--the moron--the very night before I moved in. It is a great house to be artistic in, I did a lot of good work when I lived there before, and I can already feel a new energy from being there again.

So now it will be tough for the two of us left to meet the bills, but my other roomate is going to start dancing, so it might work out for a while. I intend to make the most of it while I am there, especially where using the pole is concerned.

Now I will have a chance to finally do the ultimate trick I saw a gymnast friend do a few years ago--though I may be too tall to do it, I'm close, and I'm not ready to give up yet.

I really missed having it around---nothing beats taking a break from drawing like playing on the damned thing.

I would strongly advise anyone who is serious about dancing to get one. It is way easier to learn new tricks or variations when you can do it in your own living room.

I want to get one so bad but I have those damn vaulted ceilings in my living room. Plus I live with my mom and my brother and they already don't like me being a stripper, I think the pole would just agitate them more
Congrats on your house Djoser, hope the rent thing works out for you. Your house sounds awesome! Funniest thing to see is a bunch of drunk guys who think that pole dancing is easy!

You can actually get stainless steel poles for a lot less $$. They are not as good as brass poles, and can actually be downright dangerous until you get used to them. But once you accomodate the extra slippery nature of steel, and compensate, it is perfectly safe--you just have to be extra sure you have a good grip!

I believe you can even get the tubing from a muffler shop, a local club got theirs from one, much to my surprise. Brass or stainless steel, the tricky part is installing them. Be sure the top is anchored securely, especially if you weigh more than 110 lbs (I average 170 lbs.) or whatever, or will have drunk guys trying to play on the damned thing! We ran ours through a hole in the ceiling and anchored it to a beam that holds up the roof, and it is there to stay!

We got ours last week from kegworks.com, I'll put a link to the page below, it's hard to find their pole page from their main page. I didn't order it from their website, kept getting an error. I just called and ordered. An 8 footer (brass) with mounting flanges for $201 delivered. 9x9 dance floor is on order (from somewhere else) we'll have that next week.

Do all of you want the poles that you have to drill into the ceiling? I want a portable dancing pole too. As soon as I move out of my sisters house, I'm getting one. Here's a site that I've been on.

I want a brass pole that has the mounting around an inner core (the spinning pole). That's actually the pole that is both harder and easier to work on. Easier because polework is vastly assisted by a pole that spins YOU. Harder because until you've gotten accustomed to how it spins, you can fall on your pert little ass.

I've gotten the dance moves down fairly well. Now if I could only do polework, I would be deadly on the stage.
