    Default Stern's Smartest Stripper contest

I read on another website that Howard Stern is having a smartest stripper contest. It looks like it started on Thursday for Round 1. Did anyone catch this?

I've seen one of these contests before a while back. Man, did they pick some dumb girls!

This contest is just another example of the media playing to the average person's Hollywood Stereotype image of dancers in order to boost ratings. In fact Stern's contest only reinforces listeners' impression of dancers being dumb sluts.

My thoughts exactly - they of course don't pick strippers with any education, that would make us look too 'normal'!

Oh, I was thinking it would be like Stripper Jeopardy or something....no such luck!

Man, that would be cool....I bet it'd get some good ratings. And with really smart, well-educated strippers, of course.

They should pick some of us to go on there! I bet Melonie could pick their brains, not to mention all the other smart girls on this forum!

HA HA! Melonie would give STERN a run for his money. She's probably smarter than he is! Howard has done this contest before. I actually had seen it on tv. Hot girls but damn, pretty dumb

Ya, it was funny. But I knew like 98% of the answers. I couldv'e won. Oh well, it probably wouldn't have been as entertaing for the viewers though. I bet y'all would kick any of their asses.

I would definitely pick Melonie as a winner in that match up! It is definitely sad when they have to pick stupid people to boost ratings!

It would definitely be nice to have a pretty girl actually able to show her brains for a change.

I have to talk about this customer that came into my club tonight that made me think of this thread. He had a bunch of money....at least $1000 on him. He was throwing it around like crazy so I asked him for a dance.

We went back and said "I don't want to dance, just want to ask you a few questions, and each time you answer one right, I'll double what I give you"

At first I thought he was going to ask pervy questions, but he asked real questions! He asked three and I got them all right and he was totally stunned. FYI, they were: who was the second president of the United States; what is the capital of New Hampshire; who was People's 2003 Sexiest Person of the Year?

Of course I was getting excited by it because he gave me $100 just for that. Then we went back to the bar and he kept asking me more questions....math, geography, history, etc. I didn't get them all right, but I got most of them right. He asked me which college team Donovan McNabb played for....yeah right! I said "no sports!" Oh, and Cher's last husband.....trick question. She was only married once. Anyway....

This was his thing....asking us dancers trivia questions...and I made $450 off him in an half hour....and then we had to close. What a trip!

I suggested to Melonie several months ago on a different forum that she should enter "Wind Freds Money" on the Stern show. Fred is a very smart guy but I have no doubt that Mel could beat him.

I would think Melonie would do better on "Win Ben Stein's Money" cause it would not risk being fixed and I would love to see the juxtaposition of personalities. Plus the Stern show automatically put you in the "love-them" or "hate-them" box and it is hard to move from one to the other. About the only person I remember moving from hate to love is Jessica Hahn.

i wish everybody would just quit watching this show. he does no women justice. and im not a big feminist or anything but i find him overly rude and cheap. whan i featured an agent bookked me on that show and i refused to go. i woulve went w a fight mentality and im good. but its his show. you cant beat him. hes got a staff that gets paid by him and is on his side no matter hoe"sweet" you may think they are.i could see it helping a girl with bookings or something if you were the kinda girl who could be so so fake but i knew i couldnt. id have lost my cookies hed have beat me up pretty good i think. anyway overall i think his time is way overdue hes made enogh money off belittleing people.

You are right Jordan and that is basicly what Mel said to me about his show. Sometimes the show is funny but too often it is just plain mean spirited.

I was asked to be on that show 'The smartest Stripper' but I did not like the way they approached me. They just came right up and said "I bet you dont know who our vice president is"- I ignored such an idiotic question. Anyway the chic that wins gets $15,000

After being screwed over on the Jenny Jones show, I have absolutely no desire to subject myself to that sort of situation again - and particularly where Howard Stern is concerned. I used to respect him greatly when he first hit the "big time", but for the last few years he seems to only be playing off the "sleaze factor" for ratings, and IMHO has single-handedly done more damage to the general public's perception of dancers than any other media figure. And as far as compromising myself on national TV for $15 grand (actually maybe $8-10 grand after NY taxes ... IF the show isn't actually "scripted" the way the JJ show is, IF the contest isn't rigged and IF they actually pay in cash vs. trips, crappy plastic surgeon services or other mdse donated by show sponsors), fuggedaboudit! Howard can eat my gold bars!

The only reason I could possibly understand why a beautiful intelligent dancer might want to do this contest is if she dances regularly in the same New York club and would indirectly benefit from the TV exposure to attract additional club customers from Howard's local fan base. In my own case the effects of such publicity would definitely be more negative than positive since I never dance in the same place very long and I don't dance regularly enough to cash in on any "Manhattan factor" which might stem from a Stern Show appearance.
