Default Og's vegas and unsupporting friends

Hey everyone! I have a question about Ogs in Vegas. I want to dance there and I am planning on going there tomorrow for orientation. If the dancing thing doesn't work out I was thinking about cocktailing there. Does anyone know if its good money cocktailing? I have a lot of experience waitressing. Also, how do you deal with friends that think you are stupid for wanting to dance. My roomate and best friend thinks I am stupid for wanting to dance. She keeps saying that she won't talk to me if I dance at Og's. I know shes half kidding but how do I convince her its not that bad.
    Thanks everyone,Alex

I think the waitresses at OG's or any Vegas SC make good money. It is a lot harder to get a job as a waitress than as a dancer though. These girls do make good money, so they don't want to give up their jobs, therefore an open spot is hard to come by. If dancing doesn't work out at OG's, then you might want to try dancing at another club. I danced there for 6 months and wasn't comfortable there for a number of reasons. Now I am at CH2 and love it.

Don't listen to your friends. You are not stupid for wanting to dance. You are looking out for yourself and your future. See how stupid they think you are when you bring home the $$$$. If she really won't talk to you because you dance, then she is really shallow and it is her loss. Let her know why you want to dance, and let her know that you won't get caught up in the negative stripper stereotyped "lifestyle". If you tell her that you don't do extras, don't spend your money on drugs and alcohol, and you treat it as a job, the she might feel better about it. Talk to her about how much you want this and how much her support would make you feel better.

Good luck for your first night and let us know how it went!

Honey anyone who tells you they won't talk to you if you dance is not your friend. Do what you feel is best for YOU, and your REAL friends will still be there no matter what. Kobi is right that waitress jobs are harder to get, but if you are interested in dancing at OG's (or any club), by all means, give it a shot. If you find you don't like it you can always try another club or try waitressing. There's nothing wrong with wanting to work in this business, and you don't need the approval of anyone but yourself. You are the one who has to sleep in your skin at night, you are the one you have to answer to at the end of the day - not your friends. Make your own decisions, and if your friends can't handle it, well, believe me, you'll find other friends. Good luck and all the best!

Thanks you guys so much! I just hate that people think all dancers are drug addicts and prostitutes. I wish people just would open their eyes and learn not to judge. But I am still going to go tonight so wish me luck and I will tell you all how it went later

Me too, its harder when the lack of or only pretend support is coming from your husband. Good luck, I hope everything works out with your friends, but above all else, have fun to night.
