    Default getting hired in Vegas

    Hey everyone,
I have a question about the actual job interview. I am moving back to Las Vegas in 2 weeks and I plan on dancing. How do I go about getting the job? I mean,do I just walk in and say I want to dance? What should I wear? Will they expect me to dance for the manager right then and there? And does anyone know where I can buy clothes and shoes in the Vegas area? Any information would be very helpful. Also,do most clubs in Vegas put you on a set shift or is it make your own schedule?
    Thanks,
    Alex

You can call the club ahead of time if you want and ask what the best time to interview is. But most girls just walk in and say they'd like to dance. Dress nice. You don't have to get dressed up or look slutty, but don't show up in sweatpants either. You can always order clothes and shoes online. There was a store a I shopped at in vegas called Wet Lace. It was 4251 W. Sahara Blvd. Every club I've ever worked in has let you set your own schedule. You pick the days you want and they usually give you hours (ie day shift is 12-7, night is 7-4, ect) But at Olympic Gardens you can pick your hours. If you decided to work there you can choose to work 15minutes or 15hours. Hope this helps.

    Hi Alex,

Keep in mind that I haven't been in Vegas for a few years, so some of this may be outdated.

To dance in Vegas you have to have a sherrifs card, which costs something like twenty bucks, I think. To get the sherrifs card, you have to have some form from a club that's going to hire you.

Soo... go to crazy horse. Wear something cute and sexy but not slutty. They'll give you the paper you need to have to get your sherrifs card. To get your sherrifs card you have to stand in line all day. Literally.

There are a bunch of places to get dancer clothes in Vegas, and they're all horribly overpriced. I used to go to Vic's - tell them your looking for something to audition in, they'll help you pick clothes out. The alternative would to be order something cheap online now.

Then go into the club of your choice. Most managers don't care if you can dance, they usually just have you take your clothes off to see what you look like naked, or they might have you change into your work outfit. Then they'll tell you the rules, etc.

Most places in Vegas don't have any kind of schedule or organization or sanity, you just come and go when you feel like it, which means that about a hundred girls show up at midnight.

    Lena

Oh I forgot about the sheriffs card. Remember to bring your birth certificate, you'll need it to get the card.

Do you have to be extra glamorous to work in Vegas?
It takes both rain and sunshine to make a rainbow.........

LV is like anywhere else....nasty, scummy dancers to complete knockouts.
