Default New here and first audition

hey! i'm new here. And, I have a question. I want to audition at a local strip club, and I was wondering what you guys think about amateur night--is it best to attempt auditioning then, or does it just depend on the club?
This will be my first time ever auditioning and I just wanted to say that this forum has been very helpful regarding info and tips!
    much love,
    N.

Amatuer nights can go different ways. If there is a big pot, (money) then sometimes these events are fixed for the clubs sake. Have one of their own win, bring in more customers. God forbid there would be a cheering crowd by win, alot of ladies bring every friend to yell loud.

Or some clubs use these amatuer nights to actually see what a new dancer can offer the club. ALOT of dancers i knew of actually got hired this way.

It depends what the club has in mind. If it is an audition/hire, go for it. maybe ask around first. I have seen my share of "fixed" amatuer nights.

Again, you have nothing to lose perhaps, you got comfortable in front of a crowd, very likely will get hired (i cross my fingers for you,) and have a ball!

Ask management if they are "really" looking for new hires. I would.

    Lotsa luck,
    Pamela

Thanks. I didn't even think about the idea of "fixed" amateur nights..that's interesting.

I'm getting psyched about auditioning, and my boyfriend is being so supportive..of course he is...he's what I practice on.
    much love,

Nikki, you don't mention what area of the country you're located in. In some areas, there is simply no such thing as an "amateur contest" that is NOT rigged. In many cases the majority of girls participating in the contest are NOT amateurs either, making the club's "amateur night" simply a publicity stunt to draw in extra customers as well as an opportunity for the clubowner to conduct auditions for new dancers all at once for the week.

However, in this scenario, genuine amateurs usually have a degree of advantage. Forgive me for putting this bluntly, but "fresh meat" goes over better with clubowners and customers than girls who have been seen dancing at other clubs in town. On the flip side, often clubowners use a rigged contest to financially reward girls who have agreed in advance to work for the club - a sort of 'sign on' bonus.

Whatever the outcome of your contest, don't take anything that happens too seriously.
