    Default LilMynx portable stripper poles

Pryce asked me to let you all know about this in another post when I said I had gotten it in but it wasnt put up yet. So here is what I think.

At first I was worried that it wouldnt be sturdy enough because when you get it, there is very little hardware and takes minutes to install. It is held in place by compression.
It is very sturdy! Well worth the $$
I bought the one that is painted, it is slick like a chrome one, you can get a good grip on it though.

All in all am very pleased.

I have to say though that in the year and a half I have been off, I have lost A LOT of strength an am unable to do much on it, but thats just me Im working on it though.

I saw one of the platinum stages for the first time. It's kind of short (probably not higher than 7') but it has a wide base about 4'. It is stable (I tried it) . the only risk is if some fat guy swung from the top which I doubt he could get to the top. Fairly simple construction but in my opinion -doesn't warrant the asking price.

I want one but I have yet been able to talk my husband into letting me drill a hole in our ceiling.

I am leary of the friction style poles. Not so much because I might get hurt - I'm tough and have learned to "fall" well from my youth of gymnastics and figure skating- my concern is for the walls should it hit them. And I am also afriad it might punch a hole in the ceiling if it was tighted too much. We have a brand new house that we built not even a year ago and I'd hate to damage it.

I know I am probably paranoid but ...why won't hubby just let me drill a little hole in the ceiling, hmph!

I looked into the whole stage/pole gig but it cost an arm and a leg to ship plus it would be a pain to store when the inlaws come over.

I highly doubt youd ruin your ceiling

I had to drill like 4 or 5 holes to actually find a stud. The stud finder kept just finding the thicker parts of the cruddy stupid pattern on the ceiling. They are just little holes and can be filled in with spackle or whatever.

I have kicked my pilates machine while trying to learn to do something on my pole and it didn't even hurt it but if you are too close to a window or something more fragile it might cause damage. I have mine in a pretty small space though.

You can also "knock" on the walls. That's how I find my studs. LOL

Mine is a removable pole and it was about $300 with the shipping. It doesn't spin though. I got it on ebay brand new from a lilmynx reseller. All it puts is one tiny hole in the ceiling.

youve got a brass or chrome one tho right?! booo i want one but is like another 100 more expensive including shipping than the powdered coated ones....bah im so cheap right now....
but i defintaly dont care about my ceiling.... (its not mine lol)

you know i lve the pictures of people on poles in their own homes....not only are they (very!) helpful but also in an artistic way, so personal and well, artistic...
sorry i cant help it im an art student....but i think it would be so cool to put a book together of pictures of people like from the forum or friends or whatever on their poles at home. if anyone agress with me id actually do it......maybe its weird....i think it would be so cool.

...anyways....grrr i need to make a decision today about the pole. im giving myself a deadline.

blackeyed angel, mine is the stainless pole. And yeah, I think that would be a neat idea of people on their poles in a book.

I just ordered a Lil'Minx Sunday night and it already arived today....less than 5 days after ordering . I am very impressed!! I can't wait to get it set up. I bought just the standard removable stainless steel pole. It was about $300 and that included shipping. I was thinking about getting a rotating pole but I have tried dancing on one those before and for some reason it just didn't feel right to me. I know $300 may seem like a lot of money but I took a few pole dancing classes about a year ago and have been dying to get my own pole ever since. Well I better go get my drill out....time to install .

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm not exactly a handyman. How do you know it's okay to drill? I'm scared I'll hit a water pipe or something.

I love reading old threads... All those names!

I own a lil mynx pole and I like it. As for the hole, I had a male friend do it with a stud finder and it was a sinch. You're just looking for some solid wood to drill it into. I highly doubt that you have water pipes that close to your ceiling wall.
