guess who's back? back again

Thanks for that article. I just got silicones. I sure hope exercising won't increase the probability of rupturing.

My sister had a implant rupture. She was a survivor of breast cancer and had a reconstructive surgery using implants. She was then in a pretty horrid car accident where she got run over by her own car. So that was a very extreme case.
Anyone with a memory should be very humble.

I thought silicone was basically off the market for breast implants?
Mine are saline, and thats the ony thing I think my Dr did (maybe soy but I dont remember)
Silicone implants are still being implanted but far and few in between. There is also a silicone gel implant now, that doesn't leak but you must qualify for the surgery. By the way Soy implants were recalled a little while back.Anyone who got them may be able to get a voucher to have them replaced for free or next to free.
I have saline implants and had one rupture in the second year I had them. The doctor replaced them for free according to the implant companies agreement.

The FDA is currently doing studies on silicone implants, and to this date, they have shown that silicone DOES NOT cause disease. A ruptured silicone implant is a mess to clean up, though.
There are certain conditions that will qualify you to receive regular silicone implants. The new silicone implants (which are a solid form) are available through studies, but you do not have to have any conditions to qualify for them.
Based on it's studies, the FDA will possibly approve silicone for use again by the end of this year or the beginning of next year.
I'm not sure about the details in other states but I know in PA there are certain qualifications you must meet in order to recieve cohesive gel implants. In NY you don't need to be qualified for the studies.
