Nightrider, I am writing with a genuine curiousity. I'm about to take the plunge into the business, and I know it is an unusual topic, but I am an unusual girl and would like to hear many points of view. I enjoyed reading what you wrote.

Thank you all, for giving me some very thought-provoking responses.

Zofia, what you said about countering the possible sins of stripping with love, humility, temperance, etc. makes sense. I approach whatever situation I'm in reaching out with God's love inside me (hopefully). Of course I try not to get into situations where I'll be forced to go against my morals, but stripping is something I've always fantasized about. And getting naked seems like an okay thing to me!

Do you guys feel like you are doing good in the world in your line of work? Do you feel you are reaching out to lonely men, maybe making life a little more tolerable?
Maybe I'm idealistic and don't know what I'm talking about. But I'm sort of wondering about this more psychological aspect. I'm sure I'll find out for myself once I actually get started.

I'm also a jeweler. I see stripping as a good money-maker to help myself set up the business.

Ideally, I would like to do work where I know I'm helping someone.

Making a business of stripping? Do you think a singer, a comedians talents, or the beauty of a flower should be presented to only a specified crowd? So what if they charge to bring their services and beauty to the masses.
I simply think that God wants us all to make each other happy and take care of each other. That seems consistent with the teachings of Jesus Christ. I don't care what some idiot says from the pulpit. Stripping and J.C. are okay with me.

Philosopher Martin Luther , same guy who established the denomination, challenged the church during the middle ages. From the scriptures he could only derive 2 sacraments as opposed to the 7 determined by the clergy. That of Baptism and the eatting of Christ's flesh. His writtings angered the church who already excommunicated him. He saw the other 5 sacraments as elaborations developed by the clergy to extend their power. He said that people have a personal relationship with God that didn't require the mediation of the church. It's really up to us to establish the relationship with God. You ,personally will have to answer to him, not the church.
I imagine that's the reason Moses descended the mountain without a commandment reguarding slavery, drugs, or cloning.
Martin Luther was much braver than I am. He was faced with the inquesition. However, his philosophy spread like wildfire and perhaps the church was afraid of his popularity. He was a person of conviction and lived up to it.

Do you mean Solome's Dance of the Seven Veils, Leigh? I don't know if that was in the bible, though it might be. I mean, it was the head of John the Baptist, after all.

About the topic: the most important part of this job and your life is the level of comfort that you have in your SELF....the whole you, not just the stripper-you or the Christian-you. If you think it is wrong for you to strip as a Christian, then it is. If you don't then keep doing what you are doing.

People don't discuss theology in SC's. Not typically. But don't use the name of God to rat out your fellow dancers. Please don't tell anyone that Jesus will punish them. you would get lots of disgusted looks. If you do decide to stay, I would not discuss it at all at work. Keep it in your heart. But be true to it......

I am a Christian. I do what I have to do to support my family, though I do feel guilty about it at times. I know Jesus died for my sins, but I always wonder,, if the rapture happened, would I be left behind. I keep this to myself and don't bring it up in the club, my realationship with Christ is MY OWN realationship, I will have fellowship with girls if they want, but we go to Denny's for that, prancing around in a g string while discussing the bible makes me feel like I am mocking Him, so I separate the two, pray for forgivness, and pray to have better faith in Him so that I may be braver, to trust His pattern of life He has chosen for me, rather than scrathing away on my own terms.

I saw this show about a musician's plight in Pakistan. He went to the elders to gain the approval for his practice. They were Muslims. First he went to a group of elderly men and asked to play some verses from the Koran set to music. Although they liked the melody they said the Koran forbids you to play music.
Then he went to the spirtual leaders and inquired why does the Koran forbid music while it santions the Sufis (those people who play instruments and dance to it, notably the whirling dervishes). They said music has no place in the Koran and that what the Sufis' are doing is purifying the soul.
Well I don't know about them but anyone who sets motion to the rhythmic sounds of an instrument is playing music.
I can see the practicality of such laws as thou shalt not kill or thou shalt not steal but I think these elderly simply have a warped logic.

Raquel, Madeline was J.C.'s right hand woman, not man.
I caught this one too...

Dreamer:
"So disrobing in public is a sin? What did they do before vestments from textiles or animal pelts were invented? Were they all condemned to Hell? You mean God required Man to invent garments to comply with his laws? I think not."

Oh gimme a break! They were without clothing, not dancing provocatively in exchange for pointy rocks or Dodo bird dinner.

Dreamer:
" You've heard the rationality that if God wanted Man to fly he would have given him wings. By the same logic, if God didn't want us to be naked ,why did he have us shed most of our hairly coating?"

It's called adaptation. Global warming and what not, caused by human pollution. By the same logic, God gave humankind our most powerful tool... a brain! Thus, we do have wings, we do fly.

I'm Catholic because I'm comforted by our traditions and history. Grew up Cathloic.

I'm intrigued by other religions as well.
Read the Koran, Budiest bible (bedside nightstand in Hawian hotel.) and I often attend church with my Messianic Jewish mother.

Basically, I need all the saving I can get... One of these has to be my ticket to redemption

Naomi, exactly what are you saying? Are you saying you need a religion for your own salvation? You're right ,God gave us a brain and with it he/she intended us to think.
That's exactly what I'm doing. Thinking for myself. So when some self -proclaimed religious mullah says that the sufis are not making music on their instruments why do they condemn this musician for putting the words of the koran to music? My rational says that they're wrong.
That's what I think God wants us to do , think for ourselves , not just accept someone else's interpretation of it.

mama wake up you hot or cold you cant be luke warm or you will be spit out if you a christain then you would know what that means . to me thier is nothing wrong with taking your cloths off except you are causing men to lust for you that being a sin also. im sorry for puting it that way but thats how it is. being naked is not a sin. the as you read the bible you will find that it is writen it would be vetter for you not to have been born than to cause someone to sin your causing people to lust for you thier for causing them to sin. im just telling you what the word says. . I've heard that God's command that the people not engage in homosexuality was only a temporary one, because he wanted the population to procreate at that time. (I've heard that the cities of Sodom and Gommorah were simply concepts. You have to put words into context. <----- as far as that my reply) is the earth being a woman and a sead being a man when one go's into the other they produce life earth and earth cannot just as sead with sead cannot weather you belive in GOD or nature it was desined one to work wth the other.
