braces are a big turn on to guys who like young girls so it will be a benefit to youI'm condemplating going back to work, but I got braces on my teeth as the first step in many to correct some genetic teeth/jaw probems. Eventually (a year from now) I'll be having surgery, so I will end up with braces for about two years. They are clear, which is a plus, but I'm nervous that they will be a major turnoff if I dance. But then I figure for every guy who hates them, there is probably a guy who has some kind of weird fetish about them. Does anyone here dance or know a dancer with braces? How does it affect their/your happiness or earnings at work? I'm still young-25, so I can totally play the part of the school girl--with a plaid skirt, glasses and braces! It's fun for a set or two, but I don't want that to be my image everynight! And I'm wondering if it will have an effect on my employability as well. I can't imagine a club turning me away for having braces, but stranger things have happened.
guess who's back? back again
I'm new here (been lurking for awhile), but your post caught my eye.
From a guy's viewpoint, I don't see a problem with braces. Braces are neither a turn-off or turn-on for me. The schoolgirl look isn’t my thing, but many guys seem to like it. I’ve run into a few dancers over the years that had braces and they all seemed to do fine.
If you have the Invisalign brand of braces, I doubt most customers will notice.
Good luck with the process, I’m sure you will be thrilled with the results once you’re done.

I can't see that being a problem, especially since they are clear. Clubs hire all type of girls and I doubt they'll turn you away for having braces - I've seen worse.
It's better to be looked over, than overlooked.
Yay!!! I am not alone!!! I got the clear braces put on a bout 5 months ago, and to be honest, most guys don't even notice them unless I say something or smile really big right in their face. And you would be surprised how little they care about them even after they notice. Most of them see it as proof that I care about myself, take care of myself, and am capable of spending my money wisely. I was SUPER nervous to work when I first got them on,,,now I don't even think abou it. I actually have never made more money than I am currently making in my dancing career before, not to say that it's because of the braces of course...that would be wishful thinking, but it definitly has not hindered my earning whatsoever. Once YOU get used to them, other people will hardly notice. (Just don't eat in plain view at work!!!) I still do photoshoots and everything as well, I just don't give a big toothy grin.
Best of luck to ya!

You should have no problem working with clear braces or the Invisaline braces.
Believe me, I've seen alot worse things than dancers with braces. Like dancers missing teeth, or having rotting teeth.
I think it's cute - especially if you look young.
Just PLEASE don't get colored ones! A girl in our club just got these wacky braces where one tooth is light green, the other light pink, green, pink, green , pink....and under the blacklights it looks like she has rotten teeth! She's so cute but when she puts on a big smile for the guys (as she often does), they have a very suprised look!
Personally, it doesn't look like it's affected her money, though.

A good sign. At least in this day and age more people look at you and know you take care of your teeth. Very important!
Don't worry about the braces.
