Default What effect does drugs have on people?

I wondered what kinds of effects does drugs have on people. I know it depends on what kind of drugs you use will make u behave differently.

One day about 3 weeks ago, me and the customer were talking and he said he could tell if someone is using drugs. Sometimes I can tell , sometimes I cant. I dont and never have used drugs in my life. However he said if you take "x" or etacty, it will make u feel like you're in "love" with everyone and you tends to be touchy with people. I know what kind of effects weed have on people. It would make them sleepy, slow and probably lazy. I have no idea about meths, cocaine or any other drugs will do to people. However can anyone here tell if someine is using drugs or what type of drugs they're using by noticing the difference in their behavoirs.

I know this dancer that is sooo fuckin hype. She talks so much and can't sit still. Half time she's dancing in front of a customer who are not paying attenion or paying for a dance. She takes her top off and do whatever she wants to try to get them to see her or pay for a dance. Not that it's wrong but if they're not paying then move on to someone else who will pay.

I always thought that drugs will do some damage to your skin.I know some dancers who will put tooo much make up on their faces to cover bad ance or whatever the shit they got on ttheir faces. You can see it obviously in the dark!

    http://www.erowid.org/psychoactives/psychoactives.shtml

This is a really good site dedicated to recreational drug's and there effect's through out the spectrum.

As for skin problem's it sound's to me like a case of meth head, they commonly suffer from a nervous habit and are known as picker's. They pick at theirselve's until they leave scab's often over time turning to scar's.

I went to Jr. High with a girl who was a major tweaker. She had the most beautiful, flawless, peaches and cream complexion. ??? Go figure. Then one day I saw her in high school and she was missing a couple of front teeth [puke]

    They get fired too!

I just found out these two dancers I worked with were on heroin. YUCK! Luckily the manager fired them on the spot. They were young too...like 19 or 20. That really bothers me. And even worse is that one of the girls' boyfrends was supplying it. Nice guy!

The coke addict gets to stay though. I don't get that.

Still, what a big waste of money. I can't see one good reason to do drugs. I was too poor to do then when I was younger and more impressionable, and now that I can afford them, I know better!

As a side note I think it's important to remember that unless someone is really strung out, you really can't tell who's using. (And is it really fair to go around trying to detect who's the addict since some prescribed medications can have similar side effects)

The girl at your club is probably on crystal meth. They get very agitated and are constantly moving. It's true about the skin. She could have scars and scabs anywhere on her body. I had a friend who used for 6 months and the shit she's still going through is horrible! She still has severe skin problems, bad teeth, bad hair, she lost 35 lbs. Right now I would assume she is anorexic because she tells me she still can't eat. She can't go to the bathroom. Not to mention the fact that meth makes you feel happy by releasing mood enhancing chemicals. Once these are gone...............you guessed it, you'll feel sad, mad deprssed and like there's no hope with anything in life. Not worth it if you ask me!

Hard to tell that hyper or chipper is "high". If I am on a great night, I am bouncy and happy and have a million one liners that I trade with customers and have a blast, and I am stone cold straight!
I am easy to laugh and often enjoy my time at work, I would hope that just because I am not draggin my ass around the club bemoaning everything about being there is what is considered ok and if you are a brighter up personality one might misconstrue a drug enhanced situation.

Just thought I would put that out there.

Every single drug out there claimed "natural" or not has side effects. Tylenol, which many people live on day after day, attacks the liver for example.
And NO, you can not always tell when someone is on a drug. Only a blood test will determine this.
I can take "Z" drug and be happy, while you become violent. It's all about our brain chemistry, and how we process the drug/s within our bodies.
Strange behaviour is a sign not to mess around with someone, of course. But at the same time, i have talked to people who have slurred their words terribly, only to find out they are not on anything, but simply had a stroke sometime back.
There is never a sure way we can tell.

    Default Re: -X-

X- ive have done my share of drugs, i did them while i was in high school though. X was one of the most wonderful drugs i did. You take it and you can dance for hours on end without stopping. Your sight, smell, taste, and physical touch- all your senses are effected. Like when you get those butterflies in your chest when you see that one special guy walk right past you that you are just infatuated with, every breath you take i compare to those few intense passionate times when your with your partner and you breathe eachothers hot pheramone-filled breath. You can touch your face for ever, and be facinated by how great your skin feels. I cannot even begin about what it feels like when you get a massage.
Ecstacy was great- I threw up about 45 minutes after every time I took a pill. I would knaw on the inside of my cheeks till they bled and wouldnt know it till 2 days later. I contracted strep 4 times in a period of 5 months.
If you want to try Ectasy, just make sure you do your fair amount of research- you want to be safe right?
dont forget to check out the news article that covered the party in Hartford Wisconsin on March 11th 2000.
Read about the girl who stopped breathing and was found with a barley beating heart in the parking lot by her car. She was rushed to the nearest intensive care unit, where she was brought back to a stable veggitative mode of living for 4 days while she hallusinated.
I now suffer from Panic Attacks, anxiety disorder, and was hospitalized 5 times within 2 months after I stopped breathing for "flash backs"
Im doing good now, i bite my fingernails, havent had an attack in a long time now, I learn to deal with it. But my best friend of 6 years cant- because she died the day after i stopped breathing when she tried X for her first time.
This is a touchy subject for me- if you cant tell already. I just had to jump in and stand on my soapbox.
    screw drugs-

"Ecstasy was great" How can you say that when you in the post tell us of how you have been hospitalized numerous times and still have negative side effects? You also recall how your friend died b/c of drugs. Am I missing something here?

I think maybe she was being very very sarcastic.. I will admit, when I used to do Ecstasy HEAVILY (atleast 2 times a week for almost a year) I thought that my life was the greatest thing.. until I stopped doing it. I would get depressed and ended up being hospitalized for it as well. I'm not telling anyone never to experiment with things.. but if I had it to do again, knowing how ecstasy has negatively affected my life, I definitely would have done it far less. It might be because I live in the Bay Area, and drugs are very easily obtainable that I experimented so much.. ICStars, I understand what you went through.. if you ever need to talk, hit me up. Stay strong, girls

I can usually tell if someone is on meth, or if they're on PCP.

Meth just makes people hyper, sometimes really fidgety. It makes them pic at themselves, and if they're really regular users they'll have pimples and scabs all over.

PCP you don't usually see in the clubs, though sometimes customers use it. It's almost the same effect as a lot of alchohol and coke. Their muscles look funny. I don't know exactly what it is, but I can spot it and avoid it.

The only way to be 100% sure is give them a drug test. Some people will tell you they can read your mind to. Doesn't mean they can. Pupil dilation is a good indicator. If they are very slow to dilate or are fix at a large aperture then normal maybe but over the counter drugs like antihistamines can cause similar effects.

. What he said about ecstasy has a ring of truth to it. But what's funny is most the girls who are working for tips are act (sort of) like you're in "love" with everyone and tends to be touchy with people. X though can run your body temperature higher than normal and you sweat allot. The problem with X is it releases all the endorphins in your brain all at once. Which over prolonged use can lead to depression and or other problems. This guy reminds me of the guy from cheers Mr. know it nothing Cliff Claven.

There will always be people that are hyper or slow moving. Its like people that see a guy weaving like a drunk and they say look at them they are so drunk not knowing if the are having a seizer or heart attack or was just hit in the head.

The only way to be 100% sure is give them a drug test and they can be wrong because of other medications or the lab technician made a mistake.

Personally, I think our industry would benefit greatly from mandatory drug testing. I would pee in a cup in a new york minute if it meant weeding out some of the heads in our club. (Bad pun?) Nothing--and I mean nothing--affects credibility issues between the girls as much as the D factor, in my humble opinion.

I know that this might sound weird, but has anyone ever been able to smell someone who was using drugs?
When I was dancing, there were a couple of customers who came in who I danced for and they always had a strange, chemical-like odor (I'm also a chemist, btw, so I might just be more sensitive to it!). Then I was around some people doing coke and they had the same smell!
Anyone else have the same experience??

I can't smell it, but you are right on with your nose! People (some) who do massive amounts of drugs will take on a strong odour while they sweat, urinate, in the feces and while kissing them. Some Docs. say it's more of a metalic taste in the saliva.
And a strong pungent odour on the body itself.
And this makes sense, certain foods will come through our pores, so will some drugs.

Sorry, but I think mandatory drug testing is a crock of shit (unless you're a school bus driver, airline pilot etc). Since most drugs pass through your system so quickly (except bud) it doesn't even accurately detect who's using and what about false positives? All it does effectively is decrease morale IMO.

I have mandatory drug testing upon hire at the hospital. However one good point would be to have a "random" drug testing.
If you have been using, no way around this type of testing.
We have random at the hospital, which means i will be called in on a whim, but there they do blood and urine.
Random at a club would work, and weed out alot of "drug induced" dancers, who could be a danger.

I understand what you're saying...it just doesn't change how I feel about drug testing random or mandatory. I feel that yes there are certain jobs where it is imperative that people have all there faculties about them; but why should big brother have to regulate all of our extracurricular activities?

    You are completely righ SS,
however, we as adults should never bring drugs into any work place. That is my point. dancing is a job, and should be treated as such, i firmly believe if a woman can't get on stage, or hustle without being under the influence, she does not belong in the business. Too many drugs go around strip clubs. And it would be nice, i thought.
It seems from some posts here about "dancers gone bad", they do need big brother. It just makes it a safer enviroment. Thats all.

Random urine drug tests can easily be fooled with items in your home. Hair tests can be fooled with normal maintenence. Blood tests only test a few days back...

The American Civil Liberties Union makes some very good points against drug testing in the work place, check the link below:
    http://archive.aclu.org/library/pbp5.html

My opinion, drug testing infringes on an individuals personal freedoms...the most important thing anyone can own. While not exactly on topic, but related, here is a favorite quote from Ben Franklin:
"Any people that would give up liberty for a little temporary safety deserves neither liberty nor safety."
We all imagine ourselves the agents of our destiny, capable of determining our own fate. But have we truly any choice in when we rise, or when we fall, or does a force larger than ourselves bid us our direction. Is it evolution that takes us by the hand, does Science point our way, or is it God who intervenes keeping us safe.

So much struggle for meaning, for purpose. And in the end, we find it only in each other. Our shared experience of the fantastic. And the mundane. The simple human need to find a kindred, to connect. And to know in our hearts... that we are not alone.

I have to agree with you Pamela, dancing needs to be treated as a real job. And the drug stereotype that surrounds dancers is terrible.

"if a woman can't get on stage, or hustle without being under the influence, she does not belong in the business."

    That is very true.

At the same time what someone does in there off time should be their business. When it starts to interfere with there professional life, that's where it gets ugly.
