Default How do you collect your $ for multiple dances?

I ask this because I don't like interrupting the flow and saying "ok pay me $100 now and we can keep dancing" because at least half the time it ruins the mood and they don't want to keep dancing. Most guys are great about paying what they owe but this one jackass ripped me off last week. Dumb jerk got 12 dances with me and had the nerve to tell me he could only pay for 4 (actually, 3.7 to be sarcastically precise)

He tried to make a mad dash for the door (what an idiot!) lied to the bouncer and made like he would pay up and while rummaging through his car told the bouncer "fuck you i'm not paying' and then squealed outta there. Of course not before he got a face full o' mace.

So my questions would be...1)how many of you have ever been ripped off? 2) Does anybody interrupt multiple dances in order to collect before continuing?

unless i know him i try to collect after 3 dances or i will say do you know how much we are up to? just to remind him that it is adding up and he realises what that amount is. that is kinda risky but i dont like to interuppt and mess up my momentum. as an aside one manager of mine called the police on a guy and he was charged with defrauding of goods and services!!! that is the only time ive seen that and i guess he was told by the owner not to do it anymore. it was great though
    As quoted by Luckyone:
I asked directions from a genie in a bottle of jim beam and she lied to me.

When they are done with one dance, I ask if they want another one. If they do, then I "cutely" say, ok, then you can pay me afterwards... and then everytime we are done with one, I say, "three...this is four..."
    Sounds corny, but it works..

You know guys like those will pull off those tricks if you let them, Saph, so next time be sure he'll pay, no matter if it ruins the mood, as you say.

On stage money just comes! really have no control over others paying or not. But i am performing for one customer at least. Paid.
Now doing tables and airdances, i have them pay by the song, it's cut, some guys i will dance for by the minute. They always hand out first, if not no dance. For 2 cut songs it's $20. By the minute, i can say buck a minute. And some actually do it!!! worth it to me. Yes i look at my watch by my band!

Read your guy...one thing that makes me feel comfortable is when he wants to know how many we've done or how much he owes...or if he truly looks like he's thinking when you ask if he wants another. If this doesn't concern him (and I don't know him to be trustworthy), then I will ask for money after three dances, but after 1 or 2 if I have a bad feeling about him.

But what I do to not break the momentum is I ask for the money after I ask if he wants the 4th dance. Then I say "with this dance I'm about to do, it's going to be $80". That way he will pay for his dances and then have a chance to get back into the momentum.

I've never had a dancer ask me to pay up when we're "in progress." But it wouldn't offend me if she did. In fact, now that I think about it, I'd prefer her to ask for payment after a couple of dances rather than be nervous about whether I'm going to pay her or not.

not breaking the momentum is crucial. There is nothing more tiring than a night full of onesie twosies.

Jason, you're truly the exception. In my experience, when a stripper asks for payment at anytime before the guy is "done"...then he decides he is DONE.

Wow Saphster this guy was a jerk. But I question the macing him for refusing to pay. I would think that could be considered assault and battery and could bring charges against the bouncer and the club. Like you I wait to the end for extra payment. I am up front with the cost per dance and most pay up without any intimidation.

We sell lapdance ticket's that the customer give's a girl B4 each dance, if while in the booth she persuade's him into more he give's her the money. She set's in on the rail above the couch and my man come's over and get's it and bring's back a ticket and any change due. Most customer's usually, if they're going to get more then one dance buy more ticket's then just the one. We do our best to accommodate those that don't though.

Maybe, but I wasn't in the parking lot and for all I know maybe the jerk assaulted the bouncer first.

We don't utilize a ticket system; We do it the "old fashioned" way. I prefer it that way anyhow as it is easier to "suggestively sell" more dances (as opposed to breaking the momentum to buy more tickets). *sigh* I guess there are pros and cons to every situation.

Saphster I have never had my momentum broken by a dancer stopping to tell me the song count and would I please pay now or would you like more ? a good customer will always count the songs anyhow though on occasion while having fun I have lost track but I have always paid the dancer whatever the total was that SHE figured out not me and I dont have a problem with that.Good customers know that dancers like everyone else are there doing a job that they get paid and should be paid well to do it.unfortunately there are some shitheads out there that dont understand the concept and must be shown the door(amongst other things)
To sum up,dont feel bad about asking, a good customer will appreciate that you are looking out for his best interest

Sheesh that was long winded, I need a beer! [cheers]

How do you collect your $ for multiple dances? IN ADVANCE. Every creditor knows that. Now you know the consequences of not doing it. You are the timekeeper. You are to notify the customer of their account. The customer may unknowingly lose track of time. It's your job to keep him posted. Unless you want to act like a collection agency.
In Hong Kong they have these hostess bars that when you walk in ,an attractive woman sits with you and attempts to engage you in conversation. If you don't send her away then you are getting billed for a hostess fee. The fee is posted on a board but most tourists are unaware that they entered a business transaction.
The only exception to settling your tab in arrears would be if you know this customer well and both understand your billing system.
Otherwise the obligation rests on you.

But you are more likely to get an additional dance if your customer isn't reminded every 3.5 minutes that this is costing him $20. I consider the risks of not getting paid for dances (it's happened to me before), but I think the "gamble" is worth it in the end. Also, every creditor knows to evaluate the customer's creditworthiness when issuing credit! You get a sense when your customer will pay and when he won't/can't.

It's like this parking spot thing....when I go to work, I can either park in the lot at $10 or park in the loading zone for free. I risk getting a $25 ticket, and I've gotten one before, but I park there so much for free, in the end, it's worth it. And I won't park in the handicapped space even though it's closer because that's a $300 ticket....not worth the risk! (i.e. evaluate each situation and don't necessarily treat every open space/customer alike)

$1 per minute? That would only equal out to $3-$5 per song! How is that worth it?

    Absolutely.

I feel the need to clarify for Dreamer that I always clearly state the cost per song and for the guy to "let me know when you're ready for me to stop" before I even begin dancing. Also, after about every 4 songs I sweetly remind him "let me know when you're ready for me to stop" and give them a number count when they ask.

But it does make sense to collect after every $100 or so.

I have been dancing for 8 years, and I have seen girls get ripped off numerous times. I have also been ripped off a few times. I have developed a sense of who is going to try to rip me off or not, and I am usually right. If I am unsure about a customer, I will ask him to pay me every so many songs, "so we don't lose track". I have never had a customer tell me to stop dancing after breaking the flow to ask him to pay. They are usually so drunk, they agree that it's a good idea. It also helps because when they take out their wallets, I can see if they are able to pay for more dances. One club I worked at has a policy to collect the money after every 2 songs to prevent this from happening. Unfortunately, if it does, the manager tells us it's our problem for not collecting the money after every 2 songs.

The problem with this is that generally when a guy (and particularly an out of town stranger) decides to have a dance with a girl, neither party knows if the transaction is going to be for two dances or ten.

I've had dance sessions with girls of Saph's caliber that I would have loved to have gone ten songs, but I cut them short simply because the gal didn't seem into it, Similarly I've had sessions with less attractive dancers that I expected to be 1-2 songs, but ended up a good half hour simply because those girls made those dances feel personal, and knew what buttons to push to make me do their bidding.

I would have no problem "paying off my tab" every few songs seeing as I can always use a break every so often, but yes when a girl gets you into that headspace it does tend to break the momentum, particularly when you have to stand up and fish a wad of twenties out of a DEEP pocket every four minutes.

The naive side of me would suggest flashing my bankroll to show the gal that I have adequate funds for our time, and maybe even pay in advance for the first song, but thats a security no-no.

Sapphire or should I say the Superstripper is talking about me. I like having sets of three dances or more. I hate interuptions, when you interupt then that means your tired and had enough and I move on. I would pay in advanvce but at my favorite club some lap areas dont have music (like the movie room) so I can't keep track. A couple times some rather shady ladies have cut dances short when I pay in advance for multile dances and some are rather generous in giving me long dances like 10min for a jackson. For me the best dances come from dancers who
collect when I'm done cuz it makes me feel more comfortable/respected that they have faith I will pay up.
    whats a PL to do?

If this is the first time I am dancing for someone, obviously I will make them pay me up front. If I have done several dances for him, I will keep track of them, and every 3 or so remind him that the cost goes by song.

But it does make sense to collect after every $100 or so.

I think this is part of the problem. I think it's generally safest to 'take a break' after about 3 songs and collect, and keep the 'momentum' with flirting, have a drink, nuzzle up close, etc. BUT if you prefer to just keep dancing, you have a better shot at getting paid what you're owed if you make sure he knows the count after every song. You can make it more fun by saying it in a cute way, but the point still gets across that the meter is still running and he is going to owe $X times # songs. If you can see him thinking, it is usually a sign he's figuring if he can afford to keep going, so you pretty much know you'll get paid. If he acts shady when you remind him of the count, or tries to tell you it's only 4 songs when you did 6, you know it's time to stop and collect before doing any more. Don't wait til he asks to give him the count, make sure he knows.

Second, and just as important, I'd suggest that you ask if you should do another song or 'shall we keep going' at the end of every song, instead of just saying 'let me know when you want me to stop'. To many guys, that's like saying 'I'll dance as long as you want and we'll figure the money out later' - which sounds to the less-than-upstanding ones kind of like an invitation to screw you over. Just a slight change in the way you say certain things can make all the difference in the way it is perceived and whether you maintain control or not.

Good luck and sorry that happened to you! Some guys are the biggest assholes!
