I'd suggest that you ask if you should do another song or 'shall we keep going' at the end of every song, instead of just saying 'let me know when you want me to stop'. To many guys, that's like saying 'I'll dance as long as you want and we'll figure the money out later' - which sounds to the less-than-upstanding ones kind of like an invitation to screw you over.
Actually, I've found that I lose even more $ when I ask "shall we keep going". As coolshot indicated, most guys at my club interpret that to mean that I'm tired and ready to stop.

Usually I find that guys will no problem paying for the dances because they feel intimidated from club security but there is always those few jerks. The only problems I can see is when there is issues with the amount oweing because guys loose track and sometimes the dancers do to.I usually ask after a few dances where we are at so we both feel comfortable. Then again we can go back to the disscussion of prepaying a dancer for a block of time or the night. When ever I payed that way (only with dancers I know) I usually had a better time, but does really make a difference to a dancer anyways?

Well I use that all the time, coupled with my obvious eagerness to keep going, and it works very well for me. Of course we all can't use the same approach, because we're all different. You have to find what works for you. But using the approach I do, I've never been stiffed in nearly 8 years of dancing! Maybe I'm lucky, I don't know, but I hear way too many stories of other girls getting stiffed! Maybe something like 'Can I keep dancing' is better - sounds more like you WANT to keep dancing, instead of does he want you to. I use alot of lines, but it's always from the angle that I want to continue, not whether HE wants. On the rare occasion someone will say after several dances that maybe we should take a break because I must be tired, and I just smile and say 'Baby I can dance all night!' This way he knows I'm ready and willing.

Anyway, my main point was to always say something between EACH new song, so you keep him reminded that the meter is running and you're not just giving him a bunch of songs. And if what you say between each new song is more like you want to keep going instead of just going on or asking him if he wants to continue, it seems to work both for getting another dance and for reminding him that you're still counting.

I know some things work for some of us and not for others, and my style won't work for everybody. Just trying to make some suggestions that might help though!

Thanx I appreciate it. Actually I used your approach myself in other clubs I've worked with great success that's why I couldn't understand why it didn't work where I'm at currently. I think it has to do with the kind of club I'm at now (high grindage lap dance factory )

The club I go to most often makes you pay up front for everything. The girls can't give a dance without collecting money and turning it in (they get tickets with their names on them, which prevents theft from both customers and dancers.) You can buy a 1, 3 or 3 dance set; buy a half hour or hour in either a champaigne room, hot-tub or massage room, or get dances at your table.

Some of the veteran dancers who are with regulars can get away with an extra dance or set and then turn in the cash later, but most times a bouncer or the house mom will be up within an song or two past your pre paid limit.

Myself, I have a preset limit when I go into the club, so where and when I spend it is the only decision for me. Personally, I think if the atmosphere gets broken with money talk, folks are less likely to keep spending. Then again, you're less likely to get taken for a large sum either.

On a related note, I've found if I pay with my business credit card, there is a good chance any dances I get are deductable, since dancers are my clients now.

OMG that is too funny! [rotflmao]

As far as the ticket system goes, it is great for not getting ripped off but my club doesn't utilize that system and I've also found it's easier to sell dances when they don't have to be pre-paid. Guess I just need to fine tune my "loser detective" skills. Thank God getting ripped off is a RARE occurance!

I always offer to pay up front. This relaxes things. Then I stop at what I can afford and tip.

Basically, I ask them up front how many they'd like to start with and collect that. Then I ask how many more they'd like and, depending on whether they're being a jerk or not, I either tell them we can collect when we're finished or ask per song.

I've never actually had a lapdance (at a strip club anyways) but it sounds like lexi's running tab would be the least offensive.

    Good topic!

    I've been ripped off!

We sell our dances in multiples so its easy for me.. this is what I do currently:

They pay me in advance, I tell them I have to inform my bouncer they give me the money and we go and have some dances.

After the first three, I politely say, "that was three dances, would you like three more?" If they do, I dance for them. I DO NOT leave the private dance room without getting payment. I have only had one instance where a guy bought 23 dances from me and then went to pay me the remainder and went "oh boy, I'm 20 bucks short" I told him that there was an ATM machine in our lobby that I would be more than happy to show him. He felt dumb that he was short, he asked for me to show him the ATM, he took out more cash and he paid me the $20 plus an additional $40 for the inconvenience. (I LOVE customers like this man)

Since I started collecting up front and telling my bouncer, I have not been ripped off since.. (knock on wood)....

Honey don't say that about yourself. We al run into "gentlemen" who are 1) cheap 2) stupid and 3) all but ask to get their butts kicked. You did the right thing, and how were you supposed to know he would be a idiot. Besides, look at it from my point of view: when you go McDonalds, they dont keep a tab for you until you are ready to pay it do they? NOPE. As a matter of fact, guys re required to give the management their credit card if they want to do things like multiple dances, drinks, ect. If you ask for a service and agree to a price, then have the balls to pay for it, or get the hell away from the dancers. Thats the other reason why strip clubs have bouncers.

I actually walked one guy to the atm. another time I made a guy call a friend for money. I and security didn't let these guys get near the door.

I just posted this in another part of the board but thought it fit here too

A line that worked well for me geting paid up front with new customers :

How about we get the formalities (or business part) out of the way so we can just enjoy ourselves ?

at that point hold your garder open a little and smile your sexiest smile

When you get good at this approach you can add in

how many would you like to start with and get paid for mulitple dances upfront
If a new customer questions you explain that there's some guy running around town ripping dancers off. If he is any sort of gentleman he understand. If he persists tell him sweetly

it's a Pay per View Service- you pay- you view
and show him a little leg or cleavage . If that doesn't work he's got issues

Always collect at least your first song upfront that way if you do 3 and he only has enough for 2 its not a total loss

Here in Australia... well on the Gold Coast, Cairns and Melbourne.... it is pre-pay.

It's in Melbourne they do the $20 per song (3-4 minutes). However most of the dancers sell multiple dances... ie $30 for 1.5 songs or $50 for 2.5 songs etc. They always get the initial money up-front.

I've found that asking for more money (usually $30 or $50) doesn't break the momentum... I've done quite well with guys pre-paying.

Some clubs here won't allow you to say in the lap dance area for longer than the customer has pre-payed (ie Players Surfers Paradise).... whereas others are more leanient (sp?) and leave it up to the dancer.
