I carry a little purse everywhere I go. and when going on stage I put it where it can't get taken. Some dancers wear it on their ankles but I'm too worried the rubber bands might break and I'd lose that night's money.

where do you get a purse like that? What do you do with it while you are dancing?? and if you did use a rubber band? doesn't it look a bit silly with a wad of money tucked aropund your ankle??

The small pouch purse is cool. But i had (always) A wide tight band on my wrist one on my ankle, and on my one thigh. I bought them from a head shop. They are tight enough, and elastic, they even have glow in the dark ones, different colours. Before doing a pole dance i have to take the money out however.

The easiest way for me to make sure I don't lose my money is to strap it on my leg with a garter. This way I can't put it down and forget it like a purse, and someone can't just swipe while I'm not looking. A purse is too easily lost or stolen, IMO.

To keep the money strapped onto the garter, stack it and fold it in half arond the garter, then (instead of a flimsy rubber band) use one of those stretchy ponytail holders to wrap around the money and secure it to the garter. The ponytail holder won't break like a rubber band and really holds tight when you're dancing and when you have a thicker stack.

Shoot, she could be 23 and not know - I think it's kind of a '70's term . . .it's a place that sells drug paraphenalia and stuff like blacklights and toys.

I'm a garter around the ankle or thigh girl, though I use a little purse for keeping business cards and breath mints with me. If the stack of money gets really thick, you go trade in your smaller bills for larger ones.

    Oh gosh,
Florida is loaded with "head Shops", they mainly sell bongs, (that has pretty much stopped now though), but still carry items like small pipes, Of course they can be used for 'pot', but they are legal enough to smoke plain ole 'smoke' out of! Lol. Just put in your own screen!
Along with piercings for any part of the body, mainly cock, clit. Can still sell rolling papers, since people roll their own "smoke". Any type.
THey have cracked down on them alot, but they get away with pipes and papers. Because they can be used for other smoke...lol.
Pot posters, "Legalize Marijuana" signs, shirts etc. You get the idea!

To go off on a tangent a little..On my first day some girl got pissed at me because she put her little purse on a customers table. Apparently that was her "claim" of him, even though she was nowhere in sight. The customer asked me to dance and she got pissed "because obviously she put her purse there"
    WHATEVER

So I guess other people use mini-purses. I hid mine in a hidden pocket of my makeup bag or wrapped it securely around my garter

Or in your boots, thats always a good spot if you wear boots, frees your hands up from the purse thing, although I like having a little clutch for mints and lipgloss. And yes keep trading up your small bills to keep the bulk to a minimum.

I have sewn special garters for some of my friends around here that have a built in pocket in them. As the night progresses the girls sell off the smaller bills into larger bills they then fold the bills length wise and slip it into the pocket.

I make them aboutan inch in width so they are not to bulky. Small velcro holds the pocket closed covered in a layer of sequins no one even notices it's there. they range in price from $5.00-15.00.

If you are interested in seeing some pics I can email you a few. drop me a note.

I carry a purse, because everytime I use a garter it 1. annoys me by rubbing on my leg, and 2. money always seems to fall out. I think the chances of losing my money using a garter are equal to those of using a purse.

However, I do keep a close eye on my purse...during stage shows it gets placed in a spot where no one else but me can reach it, and when doing a dance its placed in a spot where I always can have a body part physically touching it.

And yes, I've seen the dancer mini-purse stakeout...where a girl leaves a customer stuck with her purse so no other girl will really try to approach him. The dancers I know that use this tactic though NEVER leave any money in that purse.

My favorite purse is a small, clear, heavy duty hard plastic purse. I line it with $2 bills, various funny cards according to the season, and sometimes small signs I'll make up when i'm really bored. I find that a heavy plastic purse also doubles as crowd control on busy nights...when walking somewhere I place my purse in front of me, and use it to gently nudge slow drunken people out of my way.

A friend taught me awhile back how to take a garter, put it over your dance shoe and then twist it into a figue 8; wrap the lower, smaller end of the 8 over the long heel of the shoes-- voila! Rubber band the money to the garter along the side of your shoe-- no stealing, no hassle. I used to wear a garter on my leg but it gets annoying for pole work, some lap dances, and I even had my money stolen wearing it this way one night. My advice is to wear your money on the inside of your leg rather than outside if you do this. The purse thing works really well IF you aren't prone to leaving it around-- then it will be a liability.

I generally wear a garter around my thigh, and I keep my small bills in there. When I get enough I trade in for larger bills. Sometimes I'll put the larger bills in the lining of my thong. I KNOW that nobody will steal them from me without my knowing about it. LOL
