Default looking to write a novel

Hi - I'm looking to write a novel and my main character is a stripper. the plot goes like so - she's from barcelona, moves to new york to pursue acting, then moves to san francisco, where she becomes a stripper. basically i would love to email/chat with anybody that has experience in the sf stipping industry so i could more realistically portray her life while she was there. Even better if you're from Spain.

Im from Sweden. But why could she NOT become an actress ? Poor girl gets wrapped up in drugs and taking off her clothes etc. Bad novel or good ? Just curious.

Actually - she then moves from san francisco to milan to pursue a life as a fashion designer - and there she succeeds, i haven't decided the ending yet.

what i do need to know more about is stripping in san francisco - and background information on barcelona.

if anyone has insights on these it would be great.

My suggestion would be to get the outline and scenes going. Keep checking in on this board, and you will have lots of casual and everyday insight into the world of exotic dancing, much better than if you have someone responding to a static series of questions for an interview. You should be able to develop a "head" of a stripper pretty well from all the conversation you see here.

Keep in mind, though, that some practices vary by geography. A stripper in San Francisco will have a different mindset than a stripper in Little Rock.

And if you want to get into the head of customers for any reason, you can try the "brother" forum to this one, . However, it's my observation that most of the guys there are a bit more thoughtful than the ones who frequent clubs. (That can be both a good and bad thing.)
