    Default Male dancer info?

    Hi everyone...

I'm not sure whether or not this forum is only for female dancers--but if not, then I could use any and all advice you might have to offer.

I'm looking to start stripping on the side to make a little extra cash. I also know that the town I'm in doesn't have "male" clubs, so my work is probably going to be primarily bachelorette parties.

Okay...now that's ALL I know. My roommate has been a dancer for years, but not only is she out of town (hence, advice from her isn't readily available)--but she's also not had much experience with male dancers.

So for starters, do you have any advice on what I should look for in an agency? And once I choose one, are there basic rules/strategies for private parties (i.e., I'm a bartender on the side, so should I bring liquor to mix body shots, etc?).

I've also been told that generally male dancers use a bra pad to stuff their thong--but I suppose these are all things they'll probably tell me when I'm hired.

Anyway, thanks in advance for ANY advice or info you can throw my way.

    Thanks.

I don't really have any useful advice...

The one time that I worked with male strippers was at an agency that did parties and shows. The male strippers I think mostly performed for gay men (like almost exclusively). Men will pay for other men more then women will.

I've never heard the thing about the bra pad, I think that would look weird.

You may want to look up some agencies in the phonebook, call them, and explain that you'd like to start dancing...couldn't hurt.
We all imagine ourselves the agents of our destiny, capable of determining our own fate. But have we truly any choice in when we rise, or when we fall, or does a force larger than ourselves bid us our direction. Is it evolution that takes us by the hand, does Science point our way, or is it God who intervenes keeping us safe.

So much struggle for meaning, for purpose. And in the end, we find it only in each other. Our shared experience of the fantastic. And the mundane. The simple human need to find a kindred, to connect. And to know in our hearts... that we are not alone.

hey...thanks for the advice so far. Actually, I already have a few interviews set-up for tomorrow. The agencies I spoke with told me I'd mostly be doing either bachelorette parties, or birthday parties.

I think I was more looking for advice along the lines of routines/games/etc. You know, the general low-down on private party entertainment.

All they pretty much told me was that the customer pays them (the agency) for approx. half an hour--and anything else is up to me. It's that "up to me" part that I could use some help with.

    Thanks.

i don't know if this would be much help, but you could try Centerfold Strips. apparently, "newbies" have the option of going along with another dancer as an observer to see what it is that generally goes on, and you can do that with as many other dancers as you want as many times as you feel you need to before doing a party yourself. they also provide security for you. a girl i know just started working with this agency rather recently with no previous experience in outcall dancing (and very little in club dancing), and so far, she's very happy with it. i would imagine that you wouldn't be paid to go along as an observer, but it would give you the opportunity to see first hand what would be expected of you as well as be able to ask any questions of the dancers you'd tag along with... sort of like unpaid on the job training, i guess. i think the website for Centerfold Strips is www.centerfoldstrips.com

oh yeah... the "up to you" part you mentioned... i believe what the agency means by that is that it's your call how far you want to go when it comes to any physical contact with the customers at the parties. dancers all have different levels of acceptance when it comes to physical contact... some don't allow any physical contact at all and there's those that would provide certain sexual acts (even thought that's illegal), and other dancers set their own limits anywhere in between those two extremes.

and about bringing your own alcohol... i would advise against this as it may put you in a position of liability should you give your alcohol to a customer who then leaves the party and hits someone with their car on the way home... know what i mean? i think it could also get you into a lot of hot water should you give any of your own alcohol to someone at the party that was underage... it's not like you would be in a position to card anyone. i'd guess that alcohol would be served by the host at most of these parties anyway, so you could always ask them to use theirs instead of bringing your own.

Hey everyone...thanks so much for all the good advice so far. I'm going to check out the agency you suggested, though I'm not sure if they operate out of my area. I was, however, told by the agency that hired me that I should tag along a few times. Unfortunately, I won't have time to do this before my first party, as it's Saturday night (a girl's 21st b-day). They did suggest, however, that I buy a blacklight and use that...I also happen to own a strobe. Do you all think that might be a good idea to bring too?

As far as the liquor is concerned--no, I certainly didn't intend on bringing my own (not only would that get very expensive, but yes, I believe that I would need a special license to dispense alcohol as a representative of this agency). However, there's nothing wrong with the host providing their own and me mixing it up.

Just out of curiosity, how did most of you handle your "first time" jitters?

First, you need to check out the laws in your state and county as far as what is and isn't allowed - I imagine it's a lot more lenient for male dancers. Actually call the police station and ask (anonymously and not from your phone, just in case), don't beleive what the agency tells you.

Second, as a female dancer, I would not mix drinks at the party. I am a sex goddes, not a bar maid. I don't know if the dynamic would be different for you tho...

Third, the agency should give you the hosts number so that you can talk to her about what she wants ahead of time. You can call and offer her some different options (ie, show up dressed as a cop, pretend you're arresting the birthday girl and then strip for her, or be tarzan, or hmm... i don't know, guys are different). I wouldn't think that a blacklight would be important, the strobe depends on the atmosphere of the party. Do bring a boombox and a variety of music that you like.

First of all mhawkins, why do you want to be a male stripper outside of the anticipated cash? Who are you willing to perform for- gay men, old ladies or anyone other than sorority girls?
The male strip scene is based upon fallicious stereotypes of the male adonis. You know, huge well hung bodybuilder types. Are you of that caliper?
The patrons are generally seasonal customers who hire for special occassions-ie. bachelorette parties or getting even with their boyfriends for attending all the girly shows.
The fact that you do not have a male strip club or at least a male review available kind of testifies to the attitudes of the town you live in.
Outside of the gay clubs, women do not tip men for the same reasons men tip women. Most do not have this fantasy of bringing their giggilo back to Mom or pursuing a relationship. For them it's mainly a novelty and not a regular pastime. Outside of having a nice body, I don't think many are good dancers anyway IMO.
If you still choose to pursue then go to the yellow pages and start calling up agencies. Good luck.

Welll, the thing about a thong is kind of funny , my hubby is a dancer on a tour, before he danced for a nightclub in Florida. Basically fi you worry about your size then you stuff your thongs, but i dont suggest that.

Usually bachelorette aprties I beleive are 200 $ for 30 inutes, the agent manager takes 50 buks, Thats how it worked for him here. Sometimes if you find your clients yourself you can charge 300-250 for an hour or 30 minutes, depends on your clientele.

if you have more questions let me know.

About the thongs - I used to work in a club that had a male revue early on Saturday nights - girls only, then they kicked everybody out and reopened at 10pm with female dancers as normal. Anyway, got to know some of the guys since they would be leaving as we girls would be coming in. What they did to 'beef up' the package was to get themselves hard (or semi) and then put on a cockring, then put the thong on. This way they'd be dancing with what looked like a huge package, but really it was a boner being strangled into staying that way! ::o

Stuff a thong with a BRA PAD?! That is too f**king funny! Sounds kind of pathetic, actually--I wouldn't pay any more attention to whoever told you that...

I have straight male friends who dance, but it is mostly for gays--doesn't sound like a fun way to make $ to me. But hey, if you can dance even once in a while for the ladies, and make a little extra cash, more power to you.

Much of the dancing done by men in Canada are in clubs as troups or or singles with shows on stage. In Quebec and Ontario its only in the main cities and you can get a table dance and then its usually a gay club for men only (remingtons for example - Toronto) it can be and may be a part of your entertainment fulfillment to provide this entertainment for gay men - so please remember that when considering this line of work, if this is something you can do without any trepidation?

The better your build the more success it seems.

In Canada its almost a PRErequisite. For the troups n such; example: www.fantasy-male.com
