I've notice that certain dancers don't work weekends and some only work on 'typically slow days' like Mon-Weds. What reasons are there for not working weekends besides you just wanting your weekends off.

I used to work at this one club where there were a TON of girls who worked weekends, but not that many girls showed up during the week. I only worked during the week because there were less girls, therefore less competition. That was my reason for working strictly during the week.
Same here. I always work weekend dayshift. I don't like being up until 2 or 4AM, and today as an example there were 5 girls, I made over $300 between 2p-6p.
There are way too many girls that work at night!
It's better to be looked over, than overlooked.
I love my mon tues and wens nights....... Alot of times my Monday nights are the best of the week, as said by thee others, less competition to deal with......Weekends are suppose to be for good times... Guys like when the have a good time on just an ole Monday night....

I work weekends, nights. Late usually.
I find weekends kick ass more so than weekdays, or weeknights for me.
Friday and saturday mainly. I do put in a Thursday and a wed. But not too often for a wed.
Much bigger crowd on weekends!

There are lots of variables which affect relative earnings potential. For example, many big city clubs are actually not all that busy on Friday and Saturday because much of their customer base actually lives outside of the city and commutes to work. Commuters want to get home for the weekend as fast as possible on Fridays, and would never make a special trip into the city on a Saturday. For these clubs, Monday nights seem to attract business guys who just arrived in town. and Thursday nights seems to be party night for business guys who have closed their deal or whatever and are travelling home on Friday. For the big city clubs, weekend business may instead be less finanacially upscale locals, college guys, bachelor parties etc. which can result in significantly reduced earnings potential even though the club is full of customers. On the other hand, suburban clubs near where the commuters live might do gangbusters on the weekend and totally suck on weeknights.
I agree that another important factor in nightly earning potential is the ratio of dancers to customers. Many clubs may find themselves with few dancers working on a Tuesday night for example because this night is historically slow. But even if there are only 1/2 as many customers on a Tuesday, if there are just 1/3 as many dancers the earnings potential may turn out to be pretty good after all.
The other wild card is the probability of hooking up with one or two big spending customers who can 'make your night'. This can happen on any night of the week, but it is in fact more likely to happen on nights when club business is slow and there are fewer dancers working to distract customers' attentions in 50 different directions.
In order to draw an intelligent conclusion as to which nights offer the best earning potential for an individual dancer in a particular club, it is absolutely imperative to know and understand the makeup of the club's customer base, to know what type of customer is likely to spend mucho bucks and what type of customers are not, and then work around the weekly schedule of the typically high spending customers.

i only work days and the slower and quieter the better...i make more on a mon, tues, wed then on a fri or weekend...i find there's too many girls on the weekend for them to choose from and a lot of guys in groups just want to party...but on a weekday they're coming in for 'entertainment', conversation, etc...
just my two cents

I require my girl's to work 2 weeknight's to work both the weekend night's ( I'm only open tues - sat ). I am expected to put on a "show", I can't do that without girl's. The weeknight's are the show that sell's the weekend crowd ie; they go to work the next day and tell all there friend's where they went and what they saw. If they come out a see like 2 or 3 girl's and get bored and have a bad time they communicate that to there friend's who won't put us on the "place's to go" list for the weekend. Girl's who work it right and it seem's most of mine do. Try to farm out there regular's for the weeknight's by telling them when they work and how it's easier to give them more attention when the club is slower. My weekend's rock and the girl's almost alway's "bank" on stage. You have access to alot of guy's that don't frequent club's, batch party's and birtday party's ect., that within those group's are to be found prospective phat regular's that had no idea what it's like in a club and come to like it. It's alway's all about the show and weekday's or weekend's are all important to each other. The show must go on, and if you offer a good one for them to see, they will come!!!

I think it depends on the club. Normally, I don't like to work Saturday nights. Friday nights are when older men with money go out. Saturday nights are for parties and young guys to go fuck with the strippers.
But I work at a club now where Saturdays seem to be the only good night. I don't get it, but I'll work it.
Another club that I work at, Fridays and Saturdays there will be literally a hundred and fifty girls. Sooo many girls just work one day a week there, and bank that day. So Fridays are hit or miss for me there. During the week, there will be thirty or fifty girls there and I'll be able to bank.
But, what I really love are those small town bars, where I can show up at 4 on a Wednesday, only compete with five or so other girls, and have all of the money out of all of the wallets of all of the men who come in the door until it gets busy. In clubs like this I can usually bank $2-400 at the begining of the night while the other girls are in the dressing room bitching about it being slow.

Bob, it sounds like your club follows the typical "suburban schedule" with sucky weeknights and gangbuster weekends. Ever think about starting your own chain and buying a city business district club ? A downtown business district club would have just the opposite peaks and valleys of your suburban club, allowing your girls the opportunity to bank every night of the week. I have worked in clubs with the "suburban schedule", where clubowners have also been forced to require girls to work 'loser' weeknights before they're allowed to work 'gangbuster' weekend nights. This is usually the source of lots of animosity, and can often cause top shelf dancers to look elsewhere.
Melonie- I just think you give the most insightful information. You know so much about the business and I enjoy reading what you have to write.
I work in one of the downtown business district clubs you are talking about and you are absolutely right. I usually work Wed, Thurs, Fri and Saturday. I usually do my best on Thursday nights. Weekends can be good, but I seem to do better off the business crowd. These are the guys that will come in after a business dinner (a lot of the nice restaurants in Philadelphia are a few blocks from our club).
I will probably work tonight (Monday) as well, which can also be good. Sundays are the absolute worst, but I think that's pretty much the way it is at any club.

I work days or mids, usually done by 9pm. Last night I stayed until midnight, because there was a shortage of dancers and the owner asked me to.
I tend to do better on days, probably because I'm not much of a hustler and I get most of my income from regulars - usually older retired men who like to avoid the really loud night-scene.
For some reason I do really well on Sundays in general - I almost always make twice what other sunday girls make. It's slower, and I use the dead time to work on pole tricks. (I just moved back to my old club, which has a thick fixed pole, and I had been using a thinner spinning pole for the last couple months. Wow. I have to adapt some of my new tricks to work on this thing. And it's a *lot* more of a workout, climbing all over that thing!)

I guess it's harder to hook up with a particular dancer on weekends but for many if not most guys it's kind of hard to hit a club during the week because of our jobs.

The weekend nights nowadays in most cities are starting to be overrun with college aged guys and girls and few middle aged guys. The out of town guys who are middle aged are the ones who generally spend more money on DANCES and they tend to frequent the clubs during the week.
Saturday tends to be better than friday at night overall in my experience but depends on the club. In Houston, friday afternoons with some exceptions are decent and by 10 PM the young loser crowd is predominant and its time to go. home.
You can't rely on weekend business anymore as the young customers are taking over the clubs then and they buy few dances. I've had Monday and Tuesday nights where I made $350-$500 per night and Friday and saturday nights where I made $175 for both nights due to the wrong clientele.
It can be hit or miss with either it depends on the club and the clientele. W Sundays and early Friday were my best days at my first club. Sundays I always got my ass out of the dressing room and went and sat at the first table out on the floor while everyone else was doing that dressing room bitching that Tina mentioned. Every Sunday without fail I got the first daces off the first guy that came in b/c the person who comes in at 4pm on the dot is in there to get a quick dance and go on about their business. I had done two dances and the customer had left b/4 the other girls got out of the back.
Some clubs though have no day or midshift that is even worth mentioning. I have been to my current club in the day and it always looks like shit. I have never worked a day shift b/c of this. Some girls work open until ten or twelve and consistently make what they say is good money. I asked one what good was and she said $200-300. That is not bad money but from 11am to 12am is too much time for too little money considering that they typically make the most of that money after 4pm. I can't sit around all day for $300 when I can come in at 8pm and make the same or more in a couple hours with the trade off being competition.
I have also observed that business men come in on weeknites or right after work on Friday instead of during the friday nite rush so weeknites can be more profitable than friday nites. Weeknites are dance after dance from the same guy and weekends are table to table dance hustling.
I will admit I still do kinda miss the uniformity and slowness of days. Its usually the same day girls and you seem to get along with ur coworkers a little better as opposed to night shift with seven million fly by nite girls. On day shift if something comes up missing or something funny goes on it is so much easier to identify the culprit.
"Come what may although I often say realities come from dreams, but approach all lies with open eyes because NOthing in this world is EVER ALL it seems."
Weeknights are great! I have one regular that can only come in weeknights because he wants to keep it secret from his wife. Lots of guys do business dinners and come for drinks there afterwards. I don't usually do Friday mid-day, but your post inspired me to come in a little earlier tonight. I usually work 10p-2a on Fridays, but I'm thinking of going for 6p-2a and seeing what happens.I have also observed that business men come in on weeknites or right after work on Friday instead of during the friday nite rush so weeknites can be more profitable than friday nites.
