    Default Pay Scale

My Fiance and I are looking to start a stripper business On Long Island in NY about 30 minutes from manhattan. A business she can run from home while being able to care for our children. We're not looking to exploit anyone or make millions while the dancers make nothing, we want to be fair so that evryone has an opportunity to earn a good living. We are curious to know what is a fare pay scale for the dancers. The approximate average cost for a 1 girl 1 hour show would be $175 and $300 for a 2 girl 1 hour show, plus gratuity. What would be a fair percentage split or hourly rate given we would incur the costs for advertising, scheduling and security if necessary? If you have any interesting ideas for starting out, we'd also love to hear them.

Did you really need to post this on every forum on the site? That's kid of rude, but whatever...

By "stripper business", do you mean an outcall agency? I think if you are providing the bookings and security, there should be a 50/50 split, with the girls keeping 100% of the tips.

I would agree that a 50%-%50 split is appropriate if, and ONLY if, your "agency" takes care of EVERYTHING except the girl(s) actually performing. This means making the financial and scheduling arrangements with the "customer", providing transportation for the girl(s) from your agency to the "customer's" location, providing security during the "show", collecting the money from the "customer", providing transportation for the girl(s) back to your agency, plus all behind the scenes activities such as accounting, advertising etc.

From the girl's point of view, the $175 one hour show will actually turn into an $87 two hour show if you count the split and 1/2 hour travel time in each direction. This translates into $42 per hour gross earnings for the girl(s), which is not an attention grabbing amount if the girl must take two hours out of a dancing shift at an area club in order to perform for your "customer". It's even less attention grabbing if a girl must blow off an entire shift of dancing on a friday or saturday night in order to perform for your "customer", which may be the case depending on local club policies. Granted the girl would get to keep 100% of any tips she receives from your "customer", but typically this would fall in the $25-$50 range unless the "customer" is actually a huge group of guys. Going home with $87 + $50 = $137 for a friday or saturday night's work simply "does not compute" when a dancer has the option of working a whole shift in a club.

Now if we're talking about MORE than dancing, that's a whole different story. In this case the "tips" involved would be in the ballpark of several hundred dollars making your agency a very attractive alternative to a shift in a dance club. However, if you are considering entering into this aspect of the business, more "support" services would need to be supplied from "your end" i.e. "grease" for local cops, a bail fund etc.

I have done a few bachelor parties for different agencies in Buffalo, and typically the girl gets $100 out of the fee (which is at least $200 around here) and a 10% tipout to the bouncer for tips.
