    Default Stealing!

Ok I went through the archives and noticed there wasn't a thread on stealing.

We have a lot of girls just getting into the biz on this board and maybe this thread would be beneficial to newbies as well as some of us veterans.

So I will start with one example from our club that shocked the hell out of me. About 3 1/2 weeks ago a girl on my shift had her locker lock cut! Someone had actually cut the handle of the master lock! Omg! That requires some major strength. The lock was found in the garbage.

The thief or thieves had noticed this girl had a Louis Vuitton makeup case she would keep her makeup in and take to work regularly. It looks like a mini trunk or caboodle, worth 1900$. They stole it!

As you would imagine she was very upset.
The moral of the story: Sure it's nice to have nice things, just don't bring anything expensive to work, and just because something is in your locker it doesn't mean it's completely safe, where there is a will there is a way.

thankfully theft is rare in the clubs I have worked at because we don't have many girls and we usually know each other. *Knock on wood* When it has happened I have seen management DEMAND all girls empty their bags. I have left my purse laying around full of money and had it returned to me (thank God what a horribe moment to realize you left your purse somewhere, bathroom, locker room and don't know where it is and you could lose ALL of your money from the night) May Karma come and get the girl who steals 10 fold! It usually happens that way anyway....

Great rule of thumb: don't take anything to work that your heart would be broken if stolen ie: $1900 lv case. Money? keep it on you at all times. I've seen MANY girls get their money stolen usually because they stash it in their suitcase and someone saw them do so.

I've never hear of anyone cutting a lock off to steal from the locker! Now I've heard it all!

I have not had the problem but once in Lauderdale. I learned. Managemant keeps my money, i count it, mark it, and never had a problem with them.
I trust them. Alot of girls keep belongings in their car now, go out for a smoke braek and put money inside the car someplace. Of course they say they have an alarm.
See we have a doorman or the bouncers (2) who leave the door (side door) open, and can see the parking lot very well. So far it works.
I don't take my car to work so i can't do this.
I keep as much as i can inside my wrist band however. It is classy but thick, wide. Also on break counting money, take a note of what you made. I could care less about my makeup.
PS management is not holding a purse, never take a purse when new. I have my money and makeup in a small box of snacks! And there are some snacks in there, so people see me much some and go back to work. Of course the money is seperate inside from the food.

Yes theft can be an issue.

I too learned to NEVER bring anything of value including the outfit I wear into work, nothing that I would consider a huge loss if lifted.

I have seen girls have their street clothes stolen!
Going home in a table dance outfit in tears - who would steal clothes? Oh the depravity!

I just made myself laugh thinking about how I must appear to those label wearing staus conscious gals, when I wear a track outfit, and bringing my gear in a low end $15 backpack...makeup in a ziplock, LOL!!

I dont even bring a purse to work, I bring my driver's license and hide it in the car, and a few bills tucked in a pocket just enough to have a drink at work.

YOU ARE HURTING when you rob this gal! LOL!

I had 2 belts stolen ($30 each). I was always in such a hurry to leave when my shift was over I didn't notice. I thought I had just misplaced it being so tired when I came home. When the second one was missing I remembered the last time I wore either one was to work. What a thing to steal!

I did have a customer steal an outfit, but that's another story.

Yeah, just a couple months ago some skank that works at my club tried cutting away the rounded part that I put my lock on (i have a latch type lock thing). I came to work one day and half the circle was cut, if the person cut the other half it would fall and my locker could be opened and robbed. The next day i went to the home depot and got a much stronger circle thing and had the bouncer put it on. I can't believe how low some girls will go. I should probably bring my stuff home with me just to be safe but i am too lazy.

There are several people at work who do not like me. I know this for a fact b/c the few that I do speak and socialize with tell me all the talk that goes on when I fall through town. They say I think I'm better than every1 else cuz I go to school, I act like I only work so I can have spending money not cuz I need it, I don't talk to them and exclude them from activities that I invite other people to, etc. Hell, if I have a get together ( I don't have enough buddies to have a party) why should I invite u just because I work with you. I don't trust u enough at work to speak to u but I'm gonna invite u to my house for crab legs, grilled shrimp, new potatoes and corn, and lobster tails. Yeah fucking right, fuck them skanks.
Well, N-E-Way, I went to Walmart after seeing my 10 yr old little cousin wear a shirt with a velcro patch that u could stick letters on too. They only came in Girls, not juniors sizes so I bought the damn $3.50 white girls 16X shirt that came with a velcro alphabet and had a place to stick em on the shirt. I left it out when I got dressed, forgot about it, and somebody stole my fucking shirt. I loved that damn shirt. I would've bought one of those broke hoes a $3.50 walmart shirt. AND, I went back to the store and they were out of 16X and I couldn't fit the 14X cuz my tits are too big. I am still mad about that shit. Somebody probably stole it and gave it to their fucking kid!

I had my socks that I'd worn into the club stolen once when I was new - left my shoes and socks sitting on a shelf instead of locked up and some stupid jealous bitch took the socks! Ever since then I keep everything in a locker with the heaviest-duty lock that will fit on it. But once recently while I was getting ready, I had just changed and needed to use the bathroom so left my street clothes hanging on a chair in the dressing room. Everyone was in there getting ready so I didn't think twice about leaving my clothes there. I came back later to find my pants and panties missing and no one in the dressing room. I went straight to the manager and had him watch while I looked for my clothes - found them in another girl's bag. He wanted to know whose bag but I didn't know.

I am pretty anal about keeping my stuff in order and together, so I rarely 'lose' things. I have always kept my money strapped onto a garter with a rubber band, and if the wad gets so thick it starts falling down my leg I take it to the manager and have him keep it locked in the office for me. (This happens often with funny money because our club only has it in $5 denominations.) I never take more than one or two outfits with me, and one pair of shoes that I'll wear for the night. And I never take expensive stuff or wear expensive clothes to work. That is just asking for trouble!

I have seen many girls remove their farters full of money in the bathroom, forget to put them back on before leaving, remember seconds later and run back to find it already gone. This happens alot in big clubs where there are so many girls coming and going it would be impossible to track anything down.

I don't think strippers have anymore tendency to steal than anyone else - I have seen people stealing everything in offices too! But in strip clubs it might be a bit more common just because of the alcohol/drug factors and the fact that we're working with CASH.

Keep your stuff locked up and keep your money on you girls!

    Bridgette,

That was such a cute "faux pas."

I wish my "farters" were full of money

Seriously, I have never had a problem w/ theft until I moved to LA. I do use an extra strength lock and try to get there early to get a locker. I have been at the club where I am working for only six weeks and I have already had three items stolen; a $5 crochet shirt, a basic white cotton guy's dress shirt and a cheap but effective pair of sunglasses. You think they would take something more expensive. BTW, I did have another dancer ask me if my jewelry was real? Yeah right. I had a five dollar shirt stolen, you think I am going to wear diamonds to work? Not to this club!

Lock up and keep it with you. I live by my code.

    Cheers,

    Corey

Insanity! We have lockers here that are available to us but no one uses them because theft just isn't an issue. Come to think of it, all of the things I have had stolen we never by the girls in a club. I once had a guy steal my bikini top right off the stage at another club...here the bouncers would notice that sort of thing. I was in tears when he stole my top. Funny to think about now but that was my favorite bikini (it wasn't just for work)

yeah to come think of this, I've had my prescription glasses stolen!!! I was so mad as hell. What happened was I had left then on top of the locker which is about 6 ft long and I'm only 5'5. No one wouldn't really see it cuz I push it far back and I didnt leave it in my locker since I didnt have the glasses case to prevent them getting scratched up. Anyway , after I got off the stage to change my clothes so I can go back with customers. I checked to see if my glasses were there and it wasnt! I talked to mananger and asked several dancers.. they didnt' kow anyting about it! I wanted to kick some asses and I suspected that old lady took it cuz her locker close to mine. I asked manager to open her locker anyway and search through while she's on stage or with a customer. He didn't find anything ...I loved that glasses soo much. it's a black frame glasses with Candies brand on it and I put so much money on that glasses and it's a prescription lens!.

I'm with Carlos here - I never realized there was so much stealing going on in the clubs! Come to think of it, I would have thought that most of the stealing would be done by the men, not the dancers stealing from each other.

Hershey reminded me - I also had my prescription glasses stolen once a few years ago. At that particular club I couldn't get a locker at the time because they were all taken, but I locked my stuff in my bag. Forgot the case for the glasses that night so left them in the side pocket to keep them from getting broken in the bag, and somebody took them! I also had a lipstick and a couple other small items in the side pockets of that bag, so they could have taken them all, but they only took the glasses. And they were cheap frames. I'm sure it was just some catty bi*ch who wanted to piss me off because they were worth nothing to anyone but me. How stupid!

I usually bring in extra food that my grandma gives me. sometimes I get nutrigrain bars and other times it could be oreos and candy. But one time I got this really BIG organic pineapple! This sucker was the biggest pineapple I have ever seen. So the night before, I cut it up and put it into a big bowl to bring to the Lusty Lady the next day. Well, the next day while on break, I noticed this one girl trying to make off with the bowl of pineapple, LOL. I don't blame her because that was some tasty pineapple.

    Stealing socks and grandma's food.
    Aww, that's pretty sad.

I keep my money on my garter or around my shoe strap held in place with a rubber band. That wrist band thing sounds like a good idea Pamela, maybe I could make one with rhinestones and a zipper on the inside. I haven't seen such a thing like this for sale at a stripper store. Did you buy yours online or somewhere?

That reminds me two years ago a client owed me 120$ after a series of dances he was short and wanted to go out to his vehicle. I look at him skeptically. He then says "hey I'm not gonna stiff you or anything, here, how bout you keep my keys and I'll just run out quickly to the truck". This sounded ok to me after all he can't go anywhere if I've got his keys, right!! I say "ok". He removes the clicker from his key chain and out he goes. I never see the f*cker again. The stupid fu*k had planned on doing this all along. There were 6 keys on the key chain. Im sure they were fake keys he had made up just for the very purpose of ripping someone off. I'm sure he does this over and over so watch out! He's in his late 30's, 5'8, over-weight and bald. Sound like someone you know?

There's always at least one klepto at every club.

The bad part is that it is almost always a girl that has been there AGES, even though it normally egts blamed on the new girls. The worst part is that the klepto will almost always be the first to be your "best friend" when you start at a club. That way you trust them, you never suspect them, and you usually give them access to your stuff in one way or another.

Be paranoid. Protect your stuff. Don't act like it to the other girls, but mentally assume that everyone wants to steal from you. Inventory all your stuff before you go to work, again in the middle of the night, and again before you leave to go home. Never leave money lying around - watch it even if it's lying on stage while you're dancing. There are girls who will steal your money off the stage, right under your very nose, because they figure you are too busy to notice, or too concerned about your performance to stop them. Have the manager lock up anything of real value, such as your purse, jewelry, etc. Always check and double-check your CDs at the beginning and end of the night. If you are on schedules, keep copies of your schedules so that you know who was there on the nights when things are stolen - eventually, it will become obvious who is doing it. Don't expect management to do much about thieves; some managers care, others don't. Don't screw with anybody else's stuff unless they are standing there with you - don't want to be accused of thieving. And try to have backups for mst of your stuff if kleptos are a problem (such as having your stock of outfits and shoes split into two bags - one in the club, one in your car trunk, etc). To cut down on CD theft, bring burned copies and leave the originals at home. If you smoke and people frequently steal your smokes or lighter, ask the bartender to keep them BEHIND the bar when you don't need them (this also eliminates the need to carry them around). And never expect a lock to keep out a dedicated thief - they'll find a way. Even if you keep everything in a giant trunk or bag, some of them will just walk right out the back door with it.

Forgive the long list, but I've worked with more than my share of these conniving ho's.

A former ATF of mine practically came up to me in tears one night because she had $400 stolen from her the previous night out of her locker. She had a lock, but the guilty party found a way to cut through it.

I have no idea if its been invented, but someone could make a lot of money selling garters that have a cleverly concealed pocket on them that you gals could slip your money into.

Some security cameras in the damn place wouldn't hurt either.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal for them to put cameras in the dressing rooms, but yeah, it seems like it wouldn't be a bad idea in some of these places.

I've had my nights earnings stolen before. Only happened once, at Joy when I was still new to the business. I had only walked away from my locker for 1 min to sit down and take off my shoes. Then I see some skank taking off in a hurry, and sure enough--my money was gone. Learned my lesson and now I never let any of my stuff out of my site.
That place had cameras in the dressing room, but of course no one actually monitors them.

A couple of months ago at my club this one girl fell asleep on a couch in the dressing room, and while she was asleep this other girl (who travels from club to club) took her purse, stole the money and put the purse in the garbage. I guess they figured out who did it, but it is a shame that some girl had to lose $400 to find out there was a theif among us...
