    Default Natural dancers

As a man that frequents strip clubs I thought I'd share an observation. Why are there almost no dancers that are what I consider "natural" looking (real breasts, no tattoos or body piercings)? I think some ladies are missing out on a potential market. One club I went to there was a young lady that fit the natural description and she was getting all the customers attention. While other dancers were hustling to try to sell a lap dance this sweet looking young lady had men waiting to buy a dance from her. Is having tats, piercings, or implants a prerequisite for stripping?

Is there something wrong with piercings and tats? Honey I'll tell you right now I look sweet and innocent enough even with them. My piercings all have emotional meaning to me, they aren't just there because it was the in thing. And while I don't have a tat, I do have a brand of the west African Adinkra symbol, "Sankofa." It's the symbol for the importance of learning from the past.

Besides, look at all the cultures that really pierce and tattoo. It seems perfectly "natural" to them.

We could get into tons of sociology, anthropology and such here, but I just got done rehearsing for The Vagina Monologues, it's past my bedtime and stuff. Do a search on google for sociology and social deviance. Have fun!

Smurf, I am curious about the "Monologues", I have done some acting but have never heard of a play with that title, LOL. Is it something you are writing? From the humorous natureof your posts I would assume it is so as well, with perhaps some sociological significance, the two do go hand in hand so well.

    Default The more upscale clubs

I tend to find the "natural" look more prevalent in the more upscale clubs in the markets I visit. Clubs with "no tat" rules and limited piercings.

I also see it very prevelant in ladies touring from Canada.

I'm sure there a lot of men that like the tats and piercings.

Just as there are those of us that perfer an "unmodified" look.

I wonder how many though share my opinion that I'll sometimes pass on the painted ladies in preferance of the "innocents" but I doubt the guys that prefer tatts will turn away the unblemished as fast.

Just as there tends to be a wider selection of available clients for Blonde caucasions vs african american dancers. Some looks appeal to far larger an audience.

Now although I tend to PREFER a natural look, I haad a GF last year with 7 tatoos and her netherregions pierced. I met her and started dating her while she waitressed and none of them were visable. She hooked me before I saw them.
I have a difficult time meeting ladies!

I have one tattoo, a big piece across the base of my back..I got it about 6 months ago, when I thought I was done dancing...I wanted to wait till I was done with dancing to get it for the reason I was one of the few in the clubs I worked at with out any...2 months after I got my tat, I was back to dancing, my tattoo has all 3 of my kids names in it, and have found it draws so much attention, I think it helps my money....When I first went back to dancing with it, I was thinking "this will kill my money seeing my kids names in it"
I actually hear, how cool guys think it is that I am a proud mother of three, and they find my tattoo very sexy...... Yes I think some guys prefer to find some girls with out them....Others see it as another form of art, just like our dancing is......

I fit the description of a "natural" gal to a T - and it's true, I am in the minority at many clubs. However, I think that it's not necessarily piercings or tattoos that set the tone of a gal's appearance - I've known plenty of sleazy-looking dancers with nothing more than earrings in her body, and I've known extremely classy dancers with nipple piercings and tongue studs.

Guys like all kinds of girls - but I do like the compliments I get about my "unmodified" appearance. I smile sweetly and never mention the three body piercings I used to have . . .

While we're on this subject, does or has anyone ever had a septum piercing (the middle of your nose)? Did it affect your income? I have noticed just from walking around the mall or whatnot that people either find it sexy or they hate it. From what I gather thus far, I'm guessing I should probably take it out when I start dancing.

I would either take it out or flip it up into your nostrils if you have a c-ring. It can be cute, but I think you might lose some guys business because of it.

Djoser, you must go read the Vagina Monologues. I'm sure your local bookstore has it, or you might find it online.

Smurf, we're doing them here too, the end of Feb :-)

    Well I-Wanna_strip,
i have no piercings, tattoos or fake breasts. I don't even have my nails done. I just file them myself. I guess i call myself low maintainance when it comes to beauty. I like tattoos, and had a belly piercing some time ago but took it out. And no... piercings and big boobs do not make the girl. She is already who she is, with or without the body art. Pamela

This guy is merely voicing HIS opinion on what is his preference. It is true what he says about there being many girls who dont have a peircing or tat of some sort. Thats not necissarily a bad thing, but he wants to know WHY there arent more.
I have only one small tat, but with that being said, I still have one. Did I get offended by what he said, No way. Do I get offended when guys prefer a Barbie doll like dancer over me? Noway. Its all about preference.

what i think we must look at regarding dancers with no piercings or tattoos is the times.

The upscale clubs limit tattoos to maybe one tasteful one, but many dancers are younger and piercings and tattoos are a fad for the younger crowd.

Less of the thirty plus girls have tattoos. we grew up where it wasn't popular. The younger generation does not dress up as much as we did in the power suit 80's wearing pumps with our jeans and indentifying femininity with looking glamorous all the time.

I thnk girls with tastefully done BA's look good and maybe one small tattoo but a body full of tattoos and tons of piercings are not sexy and the better clubs want more sexy model looking girls without the body markings and punk looks. The clubs that have girls with excessive piercings and markings have to hirewhatever girls are available to them and more and more young girls are not tattoo free.

I fit that description as well, and yes I bank at a club that is filled with size 0 lipo-ed and augmented barbie dolls....simply because I look different. Guys comment on it all the time too: "wow no tatooes, piercings or implants!" Of course the guys who are looking for the typical stripper look don't give me a second glance, but there is an ass for every seat. So don't feel like you have to head to the local parlor before you begin your dancing career.

Tina has a great point too: all the heavily tatooed and pierced dancers that I work with tend to be under age 25. My club doesn't require that you cover your tatooes, but many girls do anyway. Fashion trends always reverse themselves, thus the growing availability of laser tatoo removal.

I am a natural dancer, and I get alot of compliments on my appearance from guys who dig the unmodified look. In most clubs I've worked there's a variety of types, but the more 'unmodified' girls seem to be found in the more upscale clubs, because those clubs are stricter in that sense when hiring. However, I also see alot more boob jobs in the higher end clubs. Tattoos and piercings seem to be another form a beautification for dancers who are showing their bodies for a living - some guys like it, some don't, others don't care. I say, thank goodness for variety!

Yeah, blondes are in high demand, but u would be surprised at the number of guys who like lots of different types of girls. I am not a blond well, auburn with blond streaks, but I am exotic looking, curvy, with large natural breasts, and big almond shaped slanty eyes. I work what I have, and it helps that I can dance and will climb a pole if I need to. However, it does not faze me that many guys don't like my gymnast type build and prefer large fake breasts on long-legged blond girls with light eyes.
I've noticed in some clubs that the nonwhite guys that come in prefer only white dancers. I've also noticed that sometimes white guys prefer only nonwhite girls. This sometimes upsets certain girls b/c they talk about that stick to their own kind bullshit.
Guess what: It takes multicultural money to buy my books, go shopping, pay that damn sprintpcs bill, take trips, and feed my ebay addiction! I have always been this way, but it helps as a dancer to approach all races and types of guys. So what if u r not their type, u never know until you at least say hi and see where that goes. I like to meet all types of people so my friends dating slogan for me was :"If God made it, she'll date it." Thats cool and all, but we had to open it up when I started dating a multitude of others to "If God, Allah, Buddha, Mithras, or whomever made it, she'll date it."
Point is somebody is always gonna dislike something about you, and somebody else is always gonna love that something that someone else likes. Some people don't like it when I dance to techno, hiphop, hardrock, alternative, blues, or whatever. Fuck em! I can't please evrybody and as long as I keep in with the club musical format who cares. I really wanna think that even if someone does not like my music b/c they hate the song or group or whatever, that I do my job so well that once I start performing they focus on me and not the song.
I have five tats, one is on my back and the other four are together as part of a symbol way, way, way down on the bikini line and usually they are visible only depending on what coverage type of thong I wear and the bottom one can only be seen if I'm nude. Certain clubs I cover em, certain clubs I don't. Customers like it or don't, but if I work at a club that allows em and someone doesn't like them I am not about to go dig through the bag to find the cover stick just for you. Different strokes for different folks and if I ain't your cup of tea tonite oh well.

I'll tell you though from what I witnessed at one club. The sweet looking petite all natural (no tats or silicone) girl at this club I was in totally raked in the cash. She was completely different looking than all of the other dancers. Right down to her outfit, she wore a normal looking dress, nothing tight or revealing. The guys loved it.

I prefer no tattoos or piercings, but of my four top all-time favorite dancers, nobody else comes close, three of them have tattoos, they all have pierced navels (almost doesn't seem fair to talk about pierced navels anymore), and one has another body piercing.

So I have my preferences, and they don't matter much. People are who they are, and when you like someone, it's a package deal. Piercings just aren't a big thing. Tattoos aren't a big thing, unless your tastes happen to change later in life.

This is quick mention (alright, not so brief after all )on the Vagina Monologues. For one, good luck with them, smurfaclicious. I was in them last year, and it was one of the best experiences...and great fun too. I performed the Bosnian women monologue...needless to say, that always brought me to tears. Which one are you playing?

For the ones who don't know what it is. This is a collection of monologues "created" by the Playwright, Eve Ensler. She interviwed thousands of women about their vaginas...including their sexuality, body perceptions, sexual experiences, sexual violence, etc. She came up with a collection of monologues. Eve manipulated them to a certain degree, meaning that they aren't verbatim in accordance to what each interviewee said. The topics range a whole multitude of issues. The one that I performed was about a woman's experience in the Bosnian rape camp during the genocide/ethnic cleansing in former Yugoslavia. Needless to say, I think this may have been the most depressing one. There is a monologue about a woman as pro-domme who works with women to help them find their orgasm (she performs all of the orgasms she has witnessed in her profession). There is a woman who talks about her experience with a male sexual partner that taught her to love her vagina.

Basically, it's about diminishing the shame and secrecy that is involved with a woman's body, especially her vagina. It's about publicly talking about "taboo" issues, whether it's pleasure or violence.

I would highly recommend everyone to read it. It was an incredibly altering experience when I first saw it performed...and since then, I have been in them and saw it 4 more times (once with Eve Ensler performing them).

    Hi Candi...
Hey girl. I can't believe how down you seem in the last two posts. It touched my heart. No matter what, never ever discount yourself as the wonderful, loveable, desireous person that you are. We are all different (variety is the spice of life). I m sure you have types of people that are strongley attracted to your type.

In regards to "your own kind " not gravitating to you...I am sure that is due to the "fantasy" factor in the clubs. Men go in there to experience types of women that they do not normally socialize with. That is not the way it usually goes for their real life choices.

    Hi Candigirl,

Don't be so down on yourself! Variety is the spice of life and I know plenty of men (and women!) of all ethnicities who LOVE AA women with short hair, tattoos, and piercings. What's not to love?? Also, try not to get too caught up with the idea of men of your "own kind" not finding you attractive. I say, what the hell? Move on to another "kind", someone who will appreciate your individuality and celebrate your uniqueness.

And please, don't give up dancing if it is something you really want to do. You'd only be shorting yourself.

    Amethyst

    Hey candigirl,

Being a lover of women, I can personally attest to the beauty of "difference." Also being a "modified" woman myself (nipples, belly button, and tongue piercings....no tattoos, but considering one), I can also attest to the intrigue that these body decorations provide. It's hard in this society to find your voice and strength sometimes. Especially for women, there are so many restrictions to what is considered beautiful, sexy, desireable. I battle with my own insecurities by not being a size 0 or 3/4, and sometimes wishing I were. Just as much as I have loved dancing, this industry also places a strong focus on the body, and a particular body (with some level of flexibility for difference...depending on the club), which helps perpetuate my insecurities at times. I have fallen into the trap of, "My breasts aren't big enough, thighs and ass aren't small enough, I am not pretty/good/sexy enough."

I believe women of color have to be even stronger in this society where whiteness prevails on almost all accounts. Unfortunately, women and men of color internalize this, and therefore, only find white women to be the most desireable. And white, thin women in particular.

I began fighting all of this bullshit when I began understanding my own "queer" sexuality (lover of all genders!!!...If that makes me queer, so be it!!!! ). I realized that I found curvy, voluptous, muscular, thin, fat, big-titted, small-titted, African American, Latina/Hispanic, Caucasian, Asian, Native American, etc. women hot and sexy. I also realized that personality and happiness permeate, creating beauty all on its own. I know that sounds cliche, but there is something so beautiful and attractive about a proud, happy, and strong woman.

I hope my own "manifesto" has helped out a bit. It's tough. I get caught in negative thinking often at times. Those are the times that I sit myself down and rework my internal thoughts. My happiness is the most important, fuck what everyone else thinks!!!!

I think you need a hug!!!

PS-I'm not sure if you mentioned that you have short hair, but I tend to find that even more eye-catching (in a very good way) in women. I'm not sure if this is complimentary for you, considering it's coming from a woman. But I hope I can offer you some flattering comments.

Hey candigrl, i'm a black dancer and hve been dancing 15 years born and raised in Memphis. Don't harbor the attitude that most sisters have that all black men want white women. Historically there is a reason for that.

Number 1 Memphis andthose southern cities are no place for a black girl to dance. The black population is huge and white men own alll theclubs even most of the black ones. I knew Steve Cooper who owned the formerTiffany's chain andmany clubs there and he was a bigot. I was one of the few women of color who danced in his clubs and he regularly told the white dancers that they were degrading themselves dancing for black men.

In cities where virtually 1/2 the population is black there is much natural segregation. Inthe west and upper Midwest where there are less of us, we integrate more .

I work bookings in the Dakotas, Montana rural Iowa, etc. and white farmers readily buy from a black girl. Who cares what color your customer is. Whites are still the majority in this country. And a black sales rep bought 4 dances from me the other night. A middle eastern engineeer bought 20 dances from me the other night.

You are looking at life as the glass half empty instead of seeing how you can fill it up.

A fro won't work in this business. White girls must be well kept too. I wear my hair #30 silky straight, and 24-26 inches long when I can get it, keep my nails done and wear nice coordinated costumes and shoes. I can blend in well with the other girls of the majority and am not loud and full of attitude as many white people expect black women to be. White girls don't outsell me on a regular basis. I give them a run for their money.

If you adopt the sexiest hairstyle that is appealing on you, find the right area of the country where there is the most white/black integration, YOU CAN be a dancer and fit in fine. The business has gotten slower now but you can still probably on a bad week if you have the proper look, hustle and attitude make more than an 8-5 .
