Default Do pole tricks increase your money?

Hi, I've been dancing for about 6 months now and I still can't even do one pole trick! I've tried a couple times but it just doesn't come naturally to me, and I'm too embarrassed to practice in front of other dancers and customers. I live in an apartment so I can't install a pole at home. I'm pretty attractive and one of the top money makers at my club, but I wonder if I would make more if I could work the pole. I'm an okay stage dancer otherwise but it seems like I'm the only one who doesn't do any pole tricks. ???Do you ladies find that the girls who are really good at the pole make more money than the girls who don't do pole tricks at all, or does your looks and attitude matter more? Thanks.

Well Becki, I can't do pole tricks either! I am trying to learn though. theres a post on pole tricks that I was asking bout. In my experiance the girls that does pole tricks make the most money on stage. Flippin from the raptors and climbin the poles and stuff. Off stage I am not sure because we do not discuss our money makin deals!

Not necessarily. I have talked w/customers and some find dancers who can do all sorts of pole tricks as intimidating whereas other customers are impressed by them and will tip due to that.

As for off stage.. it is all about your on stage performance: pole tricks or not.

Personally speaking, I'm more of a "floor work" girl than pole tricks. I have a few that I use.. all the "spinning" kind as I can't climb the pole.

The concept here is "visibility" - giving the club customers some reason to choose to take private dances from YOU rather than from another dancer. Pole tricks can induce a "wow" reaction which will draw attention to you while you're on stage. However, there are a number of other characteristics which can also induce a "wow" reaction, and most of these work every minute you are in the club and not just when it's your turn at the pole. Here I'm talking about things like platinum blonde hair, large breast implants, a super-buff body etc.

I've seen some pretty amazing pole tricks (generally more at non-contact clubs since the girls can't solicit private dances) and I've always liked a little athleticism in dancers. But the best "trick" I've seen to make me open my wallet is for her to make "come hither" eye contact with me, regardless of where I'm sitting. If the dancer is attractive enough, I'll almost walk up to the stage as if I'm magnetized.

This will get a dancer considerably more money than the "I'm bored, my feet hurt, is it closing time yet" stare out into space performance I've seen from too many dancers. These often are the ones whining about not making any money at the end of the night.

I've also found that once the gal on stage has drawn me or another sucker up to the stage to tip her, other customers start tipping as well. We guys just don't like to be outdone! I guess its just a matter of a dancer finding that guy in the crowd who's hormones are the weakest.

Like Melonie said it's a combination of a few things that will help in your earnings. I am a pole dancer/stage only.
I feel like the master of pole tricks! I have often been told i should do a video, because Fawnie does not hold a candle to me. Yes i can do what she does, but that is not enough. If i JUST come out on stage and start dancing and doing strange *lol* things with the pole i may not do so well with a crowd i do not know.

What a good dancer does is mingle, hustle if you will. I need to go meet the guys, chat laugh, get a feel for them. I get asked for a lapdance, i tell them i don't do lapdances but will do ALOT of pole grinding, crawling etc, with them right there in my face. And yes , they can touch the legs (money).
Now me being a dancer, if i succeed with them, after my show i will send them to a great lapdancer. Otherwise they are on their own.

But yes poletricks can increase your earnings greatly! You just have to know how to work the crowd first, then the stage, and learn alot of bizzare and cool tricks no one else can do with the pole.
SO many guys tell me there is something about watching a female get down with an object! I fall at times, yes but get back up. Guys like that too.....Sexy drunk looking behaviour!

It helps to have some pole trick in order to increase your tips but it's really a whole bunch of factors which makes a great dancer. But, if you fall down, many clients will sympathize with you and tip you anyways.

I don't really do pole tricks. I will climb the pole and sort of body wave/hump my way down, and there are a few slow spins I'll do. But basically, flipping around the pole and hanging from the rafters makes a girl look very athletic. Some girls, athletic/muscular is their "thing." It's not my thing. Besides, my boobs look funny upside down :-)

Playing slowish music and moving slowly with a red spotlight on you is just as good a gimmick as pole work.

They can be an attention getter, but really ur look, personality and how u work the crowd are what its all about. Yes, they are impressed that i can swing my whole body around a couple times with only one arm on the pole. Customers are equally impressed with me in tall shoes, a slutty dress that compliments my body and making eye contact with the crowd while dancing rhythmically to sexy or wild music smiling all the while.
All about the vibe you give to the crowd. I bring energy to the stage cuz I'm kinda wild, but the sexy timid girl next door looking chick has her own kinda stage presence and appeal as well.

I agree with what Melonie said about getting the customers attention.... BUT... I've also found that if you CAN'T do pole tricks, a great personality when you're asking them for dances wins them over all the same.

I like athleticism, and have gone across the room to toss money to a girl who was a gymnast on the pole. And generally, it's a good attention-getter.

But I think it evens out. The most money to be made is by gathering in the tips and making contacts at the rail. If you're spending your time spinning around the brass, you're not bringing guys in with one-on-one contact.

I find the best and most stage-tips come from eye contact and playing with the audience. I do very little pole stuff and even spend less time really dancing on the stage than playing with the guys around or near the stage. I start making eye contact, smiling or winking, and doing small playful gestures to the audience as soon as I hit the stage, and I keep it up the whole time I'm there. I do dance, but I pay attention to the audience the whole time. With this small effort I keep the dollars coming the whole time I'm up, and get alot of customers asking me for dances while I'm on the stage.

You don't have to do pole tricks to make money. I make more money now than I did when I used pole tricks. BUT, when it's slow or when there is no one at your stage or even watching your dance, a pole trick can get some attention and get someone off his duff to tip you, which tends to get the ball rolling. Then again, I find that good eye contact and smiling at the guys sitting there like lumps on a log still gets them out of their seats and up to the tiprail. I also will do a brief dance (couple seconds) looking right at the guy looking the most bored, then bend down with a come hither look and that point and 'come here' gesture with the index finger - and that is almost guaranteed to get even the most stubborn of guys up to the rail. So if you can't work the pole, don't sweat it. You don't have to. Leave that for the acrobat girls and concentrate on your eye contact and playfulness with the audience. It works wonders without the risk of injury.

Hey Bridgette, that does for me every time. Yea I like pole tricks and will tip a lady well for her effort, but being playfull and making good eye contact is much better.

I think your image is the #1 key to increasing your money. (working out, long hair, small waist, contacts, hoop earrings, implants, manicure, pedicure, wardrobe, makeup)

I ordered my own pole on line about a year ago and it made a world of a difference. You can practice in front of a mirror to get it just right. You can get one for about 500$, the site is platinumstages.com, I think...

The secret is making your trick look feminine and sensual. Some women's bodies look horrible in certain pole positions, I think to myself if they only knew what that looked like.
