This is a very unfortunate story that I read in the NY Post this morning. It reinforces that girls should never leave a club with a customer.

Sad indeed Ebony,
and i hope the newbies read this article as well. It can happen to anyone of us.
PS i say newbies because they ask great questions! And this is an important issue. We have alot of our Ted Bundy Look-alikes Charm, money, and all the right words can get you killed.

This is of course tragic, but in a way this is symptomatic of the depths some dancers will now stoop to in order to maintain earnings in today's business climate. Knowing a little about the clubs and customers in this area, I'm 90% sure that after hours 'extras' were involved with the dancers "changing the terms of the deal" i.e. ripping the guy off for everything he had in his wallet ! If you play with fire you get burned.
:o What a horrible story! My husband has already insisted that once I start stripping, he pick me up every night/day I leave work. While I'd never even consider it, I'd hate to see a fellow dancer go home with some suave guy only to end up in the Metro section of the San Antonio Express!!

I just ache over the tragedies - and shake my head. A girl at MDS in Toronto/Mississauga Ontario, was recently murdered by her boyfriend - he beat her to death and then set fire to her.
I could just cry. I can't get over this stuff, leaves a stain on my soul, if we amongst ourselves cant stress enough to be careful and care for one another - who will....except the damn news.
The "play with fire" comment a little too literal, Melanie, but I-- as well as others-- get your point.

Never explain yourself to anyone, because the person who likes you doesn't need it and the person that dislikes you won't believe it.
Stories like this are very sad, but in all honesty, most of these instances can be avoided by dancers following common sense rules such as not going home with customers. However, in reading the article, there was one line that stood out to me and really pissed me off. It really holds at attention the fact that we, as dancers, have to put up with stereotypes and stigmas on a daily basis due to our profession. The line said "The surviving STRIPPER is in stable condition". She's a woman, period. If it had been two dental hygienists that had met the man while cleaning his teeth, I guarantee you the article wouldn't read "the surviving dentist". It's so aggravating.

This is all very, very sad...and its also the reason you should keep your business in the club where it belongs.
Also, there is nothing worse then to see on your club's info/bulletin board pictures of girls gone missing, girls you had worked with previously.![]()
