    Default Update--Bike Week 2003

Well, I can't sleep. the roar of bikes is too loud even with a pillow on my head (I live a few blocks from Main Street, where it all happens), so I thought I'd fill you in on what's going on in Daytona as Bike Week kicks in.

The new club I was hired at couldn't open in time because of a permit problem, so I'm going to do body painting instead, like I did two years ago. Less money, but not too bad, and a lot less stress (other than trying to paint in a tiny little dressing room with like 35 dancers screaming at each other). I have done it about 500 times all told, but it had been 2 years since I did it at the Shark, so I wasn't too sure how it would go over.

These women can know you, trust you, and think the world of you as DJ, but to walk up to them cold and say, "Hi, you want me to paint your tits, its only 10$" is not the best way to do it. It works far better if you get one started and they see how it looks, then they line up. Some will just never get into it, even some of my favorite dancers, but hey, to each their own.

I use florescent paints, and very bright colors, this makes it take off pretty easily. Once you send a couple of them out there into the black lights, the problem becomes who is next, and trying to keep a steady hand with dancers bumping into you trying to get ready for their set, or freaking out about something. This is the Shark, there are no rules, anything can and will happen.

I had talked to Nick about it and got a couple who said they wanted to do it, then Nick took me in the dressing room and gave a little speech about it, as my briefcase popped open and my paints fell all over the floor. Great start!! I had given a CD to my friend Indian the DJ, and forgot to shut it.

Candy from Jamaica was the first, seeing as how she is the "Starry-Eyed Surprise" I did a nice diamond shaped, eight pointed star with a halo, in blue and yellow.

One of my all time favorite dancers from way back when I started DJing was there (but she had never seen me paint), and liked the idea but I could tell she didn't know how to take it, or was shy, so we did a flaming armband and that got it going, from then on for the next 3-4 hours was non-stop.

The big mistake I made was reproducing with great effort and diligence the colors of the major gang that hangs out here every year on Mystique's stomach. I had done two little versions on the nipples of one of the dancers 2 years ago and it went over well. I deliberately picked her because she has a great body and I figured they'd love it, but one of the dancers who hangs with them brought this huge guy in who was not at all happy about it. Whoops, bad idea! They can wear the colors, but don't want to see it painted !!

You can talk all the macho crap you want, I love to beat hell out of my heavy bag, blah, blah, but these are the last guys I'm going to piss off, so we quickly rubbed it off and painted flames on her belly instead, and "Korn" (as in the band that does "Freak on a Leash") on her back in the same colors, so it wrapped all around her. So she actually turned out one of the best of the night, and it was worth the trouble. Nick came in and said not to do it again (like I needed him to tell me!) and he had gotten me "a death pass" or something (!!!).

When I left there was a bunch of people blocking the way and there I was standing next to the guy and several members with my briefcase (carefully closed this time). I was wondering if I was going to get any shit but no one said anything and after a while the way cleared, so I guess its OK.

The lettering and the flames went over big. "Lick Me" was cool,"Heaven" was nice and "Harley" with a devil's tail coming off the "Y" was great. The pot leaves on Lucky's breasts were cool, they are always a hit (pun intended, Holly!). I have painted on Lucky at least 50 times she is a sweetheart, and her breasts are made for painting! Nobody wanted yin-yangs, I was disappointed. Maybe tonight...

The lipstick kisses on the nipples are always winners, but the best was the "flaming pussy" (now don't get mad that's what SHE called it). She made a bunch of money with that--its not a nude bar but they can flash some. At the end of painting it she showed me how the most amazing thing, how she could clench and twitch her clitoris, it looked like she was coming (she wasn't--just showing off). I've seen some amazing acts of muscular control in my three years in this business, but that was a new one for me!

Then I walked home, having drunk too much to drive with a lot of drunk bikers, but it was a great walk to check out Main Street as Bike Week kicks off! It's going well, there was some concern with the economy and Daytona cracking down (no thongs on the streets, among other ridiculous new rules), but it looks to be a great week, so far.

Reznor, I saw a very slender, cute woman who looked just like you on a gigantic bike--1100cc, I thought that was cool, and she did know how to ride it, too.

Sorry, that was more about me painting and less about Bike Week. Indulge me, I am having fun and making money doing something I thought you all might find interesting.

Sunday night is the slowest of Bike Week, and tonight was not all that great. Lots of bikers are here, but they are not spending as much, at least not at the Shark tonight. Since I do the painting in the dressing room I am like an unofficial 'house dad', and I have had to do a lot of consoling, the money is not coming through as much, and the girls are having to put up with some shit. Of course the Shark is a rougher club to work in, definitely not for the faint of heart. Last night was slamming, and lucrative for some, but only two thirds of the girls came back tonight.

Main Street is as busy as ever, the economy does not seem to have put a dent in the numbers. It was pretty packed tonight. I have a hard time spending too much time there, because it always makes me want to get a bike again.

I have gone to a couple other clubs after painting on both nights. Last night was pretty good but in one club four dancers got drugged, the manager was freaking out again, the dancers were all pissed off at him, and some of the women were doing a lot less than they should have. They have lost most of the better women they had when I left 2 months ago, and many of the ones that are left are not happy. Tonight I had one of my friends in tears, she had been dealing with a lot of verbal abuse.

I have stayed away from Lollipops, which is the biggest and best club, as it is too much of a mob scene there during special events. If there is anywhere in town to make money it would be here--Zaza made 800$ during Race Week one night letting a guy rub her back, but she is in Mexico right now, so I have no inside reports about Bike Week there as of yet. If you come to Daytona you should try there first but they already have a ton of women working there, and if you don't like big crowds you'll be better off elsewhere. Thee are several women at the Shark who could make more money elsewhere, but they enjoy the much more relaxed atmosphere, and are still making good money.

It is not too late to come down and make some cash, but be warned room rates are high. You can have a lot of fun if you like bike events, and if you are a hustler the money is here, but I would hesitate to recommend a trip here for money alone, unless you have friends here you can stay with (sorry I'm full up now) for free.

Yeah I've heard so much about the bike week in Dayonta. I've always wanted to go one day. Perhaps next year when the economics gets better.

Hopefully the bike shop will call me back and say I m approved for a new bike. They are willing to try to work a sweet deal with me on a new bike I wanted to buy. The mech. there fucked up my carb on my bike which really pisses me off cuz I took it there 4 different times. It would run good for only short time and it would either not start or run like shit. He claims it's the values and would try to charge me 500 bucks for all the works I told him no I wouldnt pay I knew it was the carb. So I had someone help me take it apart and take it to the machine shop. I'll be damned he said there's nothing wrong with it and I had to pay him since he just cleaned it out.
Anyway, I left the bike shop today and hopefully they'll try to fix my bike then I can trade it in for a newer one. I was hoping for a Suzuki 750 but they didn't have it so I'll take the suzuki 600.

I wanted to know if u have any other info about a bike week that may be taken in Texas? I never knew anyting about a bike week in Texas cuz everyone says it's up in Florida.

We are going to see more biker oriented festivals, street parties, etc., for two reasons:

    1) They are fun

2)Daytona is cracking down--ie no thongs on the street, hassling the loud pipes, screwing around with the various vendors with administrative hassles, etc.--so some bikers are pissed off, and some people are trying alternatives..

However, the three big festivals will remain for some time to come, Bike Week and Biketoberfest in Daytona, and Sturgis in South Dakota. They are just too big to replace that soon, although Biketoberfest was noticeably smaller this year, it was still a major event.

Any time you get several thousand bikers together, you have a situation where dancers can make money, if you can handle dealing with several thousand guys who all dress, talk, walk , etc. exactly the same--for me a little goes a long way, but since I am here anyway I enjoy it, and the creative opportunities it brings.

    Djoser

PS--I had that trouble with my first bike exactly--find a new mechanic whatever deal you do with the new bike--you should not have take any machine back 4 times for the same problem!! I got a BMW so never had any further trouble, at least until the drunk hit me--still limp a bit from that one, on a bad day...

My sister goes every year. I missed this year, but they cracked down Djoser on the picture taking with flashing breasts!
Too many police were there last year, or the year before i can not remember now when i went, Duh. I live near there as well, and we have many trauma's with "downed Bikers" , so this time of year i love bike week when it rolls around, but not the accidents that get flown into the hospital. And the new "no helmet law does not help", since the majority of trauma's are head. But we have them passing through, and i love a bike. Mainly a Harley!!! Pamela The ole "Panheads" get me everytime!

yeah I know. I got a Yamaha fzr 600 so Im gonna get rid of it after it's fixed for the fuckin' last time . I had a talk with the owner about this problem and he said he would try to work a sweet deal with me to trade for a newer bike. He has his mech to try to fix my bike right now though.

I was watching this show last nite about bike week 2002 in Dayonta. There were so many cops arresting women who flash their tits or wearing thongs. They were issuing them several tickets lol. I've seen several women on bikes and I 've been wanting to meet women who ride street bikes since I have one.

I remember going to South Padre Island last year, me and my boyfriend brought our bikes on the back of the truck. We had an awsome time. it came to a surprise that I was the ONLY woman riding on a street bike and all those girls were riding behind someone else. All those guys that saw me would actually follow me trying to take pictures and video tape me. I told my boyfriend to get close to me to protect me since I had on my g strin bathing suit lol. Guys went crazy w hen I was riding away. The point is I dont see women from the south of Texas riding street bikes and I wonder why?? ??? I only saw maybe 2 one ridin a suzuki 600 and other ridin a 500 I can't remember what kind. Im sure there are some women riding but just dont know where they are!! I would love to see some around here!! Please do sent them over here lol

Daytona has been trying to clean up its image and be more of a "family-oriented" town for a while now, which is not only exasperating to those of us in the industry, but ridiculous as well. Daytona has always been about bikes, racing cars, and partying on the beach. These people in power are cutting their own throats trying to make it another damned Disney town (we won't even get into Walt Disney's cocaine addiction here), but they are making it harder on those of us trying to make a little money from dancing girls and motorcycles.

You really don't see too many women riding their own bikes, which was why seeing the pretty young sweetheart on an 1100cc monster bike made such an impression. Part of the reason is that it seems to be a sort of male thing, one reason I can only handle so much Bike Week (other than working) and all the identical macho, sexist bikers. I rode with some guys in Texas when I had my BMW, and that was enough for me.

Which is why I generally hang out and party in the dressing room when I do the painting thing, with occasional forays into the crowd to get a drink, see what's happening, and see how the art looks under the blacklights. In the Shark there are a lot of the rougher sort, too, a little too much testosterone to spare. I am taking tonight off--it's raining, cold, and I have to draw some plans up to take to Orlando tomorrow. Better to take a break now, as there will be five prime nights to paint coming up, along with some better weather, and a lot more money.

One of my favorite dancers of all time, Brandy, drove a Panhead, Pamela and Hershey you would have loved to have seen her! I'm going to keep my eyes open for her this week. Last time I saw her she had quit dancing but she still looks good on that bike! A lot of ex-dancers will get back into it for a week, the money is so tempting, she might even show up working at the Shark!(getting my psychic DJ powers warmed up here)

It's interesting to me--women always on the back-- because I stopped driving bikes for a while, I was a little too wild driving the things (three bad accidents & it was time for a break), but riding on the back scared the hell out of me! I only did it twice, never again. I will actually be reluctant to take passengers when I get another as it is so easy to get hurt/killed even if you are not wild; I don't want to have to worry about anyone but myself. I was always single when I had bikes and I shudder to think of what could have happened to the girls on the back--but it was fun...

    Just as well.

I've always wanted to do Bike Week. I can't get my bike down there - too much work responsibilities to take off that long to get me and my naked two-wheeler from Colorado to Florida. I'm a lot closer to Sturgis. Maybe some day I'll do my biker experience there.

I'm enjoying your tales of the week, Djoser.

I just walked down to Main Street for a couple of minutes, and there was a hot little cutie --couldn't have weighed more than 105lbs.--on a1000cc Suzuki. Ordinarily I would have appeciated the site from afar, but since Hershey was asking, I went up through the crowd of guys gawking to find out what kind of bike it was.

I'm glad I did because on the front she had a "Porn Star" sticker with those little graphic figures like you see on restroom, handicap, etc. signs, only her little figures were gettin' it on. It was funny as hell. She was having a ball with all the attention, and I didn't ask, but she had 'dancer' written all over her. I can always tell, after working with so many. Whatever, it was a beautiful sight.

Back to painting tonight, no doubt I will have more wild & strange tales for you all...

PS Pamela, is that an old Triumph or BSA in that picture behind you?

Daytona, huh? I wonder if the Atlanta chapter of The Outlaws is still bringing the girls from Follie's down there each year... I know that we had quite a few hard-bodies there who liked to deck out in leathers and ride with the guys for Bike Week.

Same for a lot of the old clientele from the now-paved-over BodyShop in Shalimar, FL....

Yeah I've seen movies and heard women riding a bigger bikes. I thought it was pretty awsome and I've been wanting to talk to them and share the experience what we women had to go through. U know the hassles, the camera, videotaping and gawking we get all the times while riding on the bike. Perhaps during the summer I'll get the chance if I happen to see them.

Even in the rain, it kicks!! plus we had showers off and on. Not thunder storms. They are hanging down my way too at the clubs. (well i am just down the road a bit anyway). But they stay, and spread out some, and head back into Daytona. I talked to 5 the other night, they said the rain stops very few. OH gosh spring break...Now i can't wait until that passes every year.

Bike Week is alive and kicking. It helps that the 6 day monsoon is over. Tonight was the first night it really seemed like it should be. On the way to paint I walked down Main Street and it was a mistake, it took so long to get through the packed sidewalks. I had noticed high energy levels in the crowds that braved the weather last night, but tonight proved that it will be many years before Bike Week in Daytona can be written off, in spite of any and all attempts to do so.

Most of the dancers are now making pretty good money. To give one example, a girl from the Shark got 200$ just to ride with a guy for a while down Main Street. And she is not alone. There are a more and more women coming in, but most of them are still doing very well in spite of the competition. The flaming vagina girl made a grand yesterday. Meredith always does well, but of course she is pretty damn hot.

There are a wide variety of women working here. These are not all Barbie doll types either, I have been suprised at how well even relatively unattractive dancers are doing. Of course the knockouts, like Scarlett (a Gallery Girl Next Door), and Candy, who has done photo shoots for Playboy, are cleaning up.

I was especially glad to see that the 4-5 black girls at the Shark were all doing very well, in spite of a well-known racist tendency especially amongst the harder core elements at these kinds of gatherings. In past Bike Weeks I have had to worry a bit at the uphill battle even one or two ethnic dancers were facing, but it is amazing how easy it has been this year, even in a club where last night I saw a guy with a great big swastika on his shirt (along with the words "Charlie don't surf", whatever the hell that means).

One old friend of mine was drugged tonight, which sucks, but cannot compare with the four best dancers being taken down at the other club I mentioned in my last update. It was funny because I carried her all the way from the back, through this extremely dense packed crowd, no mean feat of endurance and manuevering (you don't want to knock into some of these characters even with someone else's body) at the height of the evening, because we heard her boyfriend was out front to get her.

I saw her boyfriend with great relief just outside--but the idiot, instead of taking her off my hands, said "here, the car's right around the corner", which meant I had to carry her around about 250 bikes. I think I need to start working out more, because I needed a rest after that one! But it had to be done, the poor thing was in terrible shape, we had to get her out of there!

These guys who drug dancers are real morons! Like we're going to say "Gosh we don't know who the hell you are, but Jasmine seems to be really out of it, could you maybe give her a ride home?" Right.

The painting is going well but I am getting tired of having to do it in the jampacked dressing room, it is very hard to keep a steady hand! And you can hardly yell at them to stop bumping into you when they are trying to get ready (in THEIR dressing room) to go onstage in 2 minutes! I don't know how I did it 2 years ago, the room was smaller then.

I have been tired & distracted by other work--I had to do some big shopping center plans, so have been more easily thrown off the past couple of days, and I think these next three will see some great new stuff. Even so far it has been looking good, the owners and dancers are very happy I am doing it. I really want to get some pictures to show you all! Does anyone know good film/settings to use for blacklights?

I don't really want to go on record, even here, and say what gang it is--for my own protection, but it is a very large and well known club. More and more of them tend to show up there as the week progresses, which is too bad, really, as they don't spend as much, tend to demand a lot of free attention, and scare off a lot of guys who would spend a lot. But some of the dancers do pretty well with them. There are members from Germany, Belgium, Switzerland even. They are not to be trifled with, that is for sure, and I sure won't be painting their colors on anyone else real soon, LOL.

Well Djoser i can tell you we had a biker down, in SICU at the hospital. The volunteer who works with me pointed them out.(We thought the noise was helicopter landing). about 6 guys coming through the hall, and the back of the leather said "hells Angels". Now i don't know if they are still around or what ever, but they were nice, and one guy told me about their colours..???? Ok, i guess that meant the name on the jackets ..? I was confused, and always heard that these people are mean, or can be. I adored them!
Anyway when they were directed to ICU, we ran out side and looked at the bikes because they parked inside the loop, the tags on all but 1 said California.

I have NEVER seen the "Hell Angels", but i have seen and talked to "the Outlaws".They are nice as well. But i would not want to piss them offf.

Sorry computer is messing up when i type my letters, i need a new keyboard. I hate going back and trying to correct it, it whipes out another letter.

I have worked quite a few bike weeks in Daytona now, however, as much fun as the bikers are, it is really hard to actually work rather than go riding!

I've worked at both Lollipops and The Pink Pony. In Lollipops you can make a grip, but you have to get lucky, even during the events. It is a club that many guys go to more for the atmosphere rather than the girls themselves. I mean, they had 240-someodd girls during race week. Whether it is an event or not, that is just too many girls for any club in Daytona. Everyone made a little money, but only a few made a lot. Since the Pink Pony, like Sharks, is a much smaller club and doesn't have nearly as many girls, it is much easier to make money. I worked there last month for race week and made over $2000 in two nights of work. And, contrary to what a lot of girls are doing in that club, that was just dancing... no "extra".

That is one of the hardest things that I found that you have to deal with in Daytona. There is a lot of prostitution going on and it gets really hard to compete with.

Overall, you can't beat Bike Week! I look forward to it every year and always have a blast. I'm heading up tonight to work the weekend. I learned a while ago that the first weekend is somewhat useless because no one wants to spend all of their money right off the bat. I'll be at the Pink Pony, hopefully doing well! Good luck to all of you working and be safe to all of you riding!

Any accurate treatment of Bike Week in Daytona would have to take into account the ever-present sound, though the word "sound" can hardly do the feeling justice. Where I am staying is the epicenter of an area five miles in diameter within which there are at times nearly half a million massive pieces of fine-tooled heavy machinery operating simultaneously.

It is a pulsing, throbbing, incessant sensation which cannot be ignored. Like the rumbling of a colossal underground dragon, it quickens the pulse; a volcanic movement or a shuttle launch might compare. Race Week has it's own auditory distinction, but the effect is miniscule when measured by this.

Curiously enough, however, by three thirty in the morning it has vanished. As I write this it is quiet as any mid-sping night. The explanation is simple. The vast majority of these hard-core partiers are accustomed to rising at 5:30 or 6:00 AM every day, to pay for that magnificent toy. The majority are in their mid thirties or older, and after rising at a leisurely nine or ten in the morning, drinking and riding all day, they are heading home sooner than you might expect.

For you fans of sexy ladies on beautiful bikes, I invite you to share my pleasure upon beholding the enchanting Lily today cruising up on a magnificent 2001 Sportster. I have hung out with her in the dressing room, but never knew how she got to work. I gave her the address here, so I hope she joins, she is a sweetheart.

A beautiful thing happened tonight. There is a woman who I have seen around town in a wheelchair. I have noticed her dancing as best she could in her chair when the music was good. Tonight she was lifted onto the stage and placed in a chair where she got to do her two song set. She was tipped lavishly and was lovin' it. Someone told me she had had a bad car accident.

Tonight I saw Storm get literally a mountain of money from dancing one stage song. It was at least a hundred dollars. In all my three years and thousand dancers I have never seen so much money thrown on stage at once. Incidentally the song was by Khia, "My Face, My Neck", or something like that, a vey hot track, and I was leaping into the booth to find that out when I saw the pile of cash she had swept up.

It would be a foul beast indeed who would fail to be gallant in the presence as one such as Pamela. Even the hardest cases have their good side. I have seen very little evidence of barbarous behavior on the part of the gang members in the four years I have been hangin out, working or whatever, in the Shark.

Only once have I been subjected to rudeness, it was no worse than what you might expect at a frat party, and I had my way to answer that without provoking violence. The Shark this Saturday will not be somewhere to throw your weight around, but with circumspection you can have a great time with no fear of harassment.

Fire Woman, I have had an aversion to the Daytona Pink Pony (off season it doesn't measure up to the Atlanta club) but I am thinking of trying to visit if you will be there, I love the idea of meeting Stripperweb members! Were they open after three during Race Week? That will make it easier. If you want, PM me your stage name and maybe I will try to meet you. I agree about Lollipops, it is a great place to visit but I rarely go there during special events.

All told, I have worked in my share of strip joints where bikers were our mainstay customers and patron saints...

Truthfuly, most of them are just pussycats with an edge - white knights in black leather, etc. The vast majority have a very chivalrous nature. it's just that most of them also have close-knit ties and a good ole boy nature...

Granted, I have ran into a handful of ones I would refer to as rough trade, and personally do not advise anyone to cross a biker (because you never know who has their back). But overall, the majority are good folks if you just know how to behave yourself decently and play well with others.

The only club I have ever ran into that I truly felt was worth any worry was the Walker County, Alabama chapter of the D.D.'s. Those are truly not people with which to associate... :o

Here's to an uneventful and profitable Bike Week for all those who may be working in the vicinity... Wish I could be there to party, but since I can't - chug a few, ride a few, and bare a few....

Just got back from Bike Week and, as expected, only worked one night. Ended up riding the rest of the time, but had a BLAST!
Djoser- Sorry that I didn't get in contact with you while I was there! I saw your replies after I got home since I had no way to access the net while I was in Daytona. I actually thought about popping in to Sharks to say "Hi" and introduce myself, but didn't know if it would be proper since many people like the anonymity of using the net and not ever having to meet the people they "talk" to face to face. Should have guessed by the personality that shines through on your messages that would not have been the case!
Anywho, I had a great time up there (even in the crappy weather) and I'm already making plans for Myrtle Beach. If any of you ladies have never worked any type of Biker Rally before, you really should try it..... You'll never have as much fun! Maybe I'll see some of you in Myrtle in May.
