I'm not sure where you live but if you're in the states there is a healthy alternative called melatonin that I've used in the past. It's derived from a natural chemical produced by your brain to help differentiat light from day. Shift work is hard for our bodies to adjust to, try also wearing an eyemask to keep the light out.
