    Default We are Women....Hello

From reading treads like black women, natural dancer, and others. It seems like some women are being very discouraged. I know sometimes I feel this way.

As Dancers we great scored on really how we look. Meaning race, breast, weight, height, hair color, etc. Please I hear this all the time. " I think I'm a 7, because of .......". Really do the business and society have us like this. On this site I think there are all of beautiful women on here. I say screw all that 10 or less bull. Cause all it's doing is making some women get low self esteem, which is a NO-NO. We are beautiful and dont let no fool tell us different.

Thank you for that. It is so true. Society gives everyone this picture of the "perfect woman". But it's all lies. First of all everyone has different tastes! Not all guys want the same kind of girl (hehe obviously some guys don't want girls at all...). It is good to be different. I think guys would be less interested walking into a club and seeing all women look basically the same. Sure lots of guys like the long blonde hair, tan, sultry white girl... that's not bad either. I'm just saying not everyone likes that. So maybe the gothic look doesn't get much money. I'm prepared for that... but I refuse to change who I am and sacrifice my happiness to conform to what others want. To me, it's more fulfilling to be myself. As for minorities in clubs,I haven't seen alot of African Amercian dancers... and to tell you the truth I'd like to see more! I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

(And what is it with the long hair thing... I'm planning on getting my hair cut pretty short. I would think it wouldn't matter, but after that whole other thread, I'm wondering why length of hair is such a big deal?)

I agree with you all and the number game should stop. Too many times what I think is a "10" my buddies would score her a "5". We all have our likes and dislikes. Long hair vs Short hair. Black lip stick vs ruby red. Blond vs Brown vs Red.

I would love to see a gothic dancer at my club or even a woman with some tatoos.

    IMHO

What i was wondering is about the people who put up one thread that is a very "hot topic", and we all disagree with each other. And the original poster never writes again. I feel like some people may want to come to the board and get us all against each other, sit back and just watch the messages flying with us all trying to voice an opinion. And cause us to dislike each other.

As for black, white red ,green etc. colour does matter in society STILL. Not too much where i live however. At a club called Sanctuary, 90% are black, i LOVE it. In Florida here i see alot of couples, and a black woman with a white man is so cool! And vice versa. I just love seeing it period. And TiNi, you have an excellent point...numbers on a woman does create low self esteem, i have seen many dancers being rated on that "stupid" numbers scale, only to be told "ahhh you look like a 6". Everyone one wants to be beautiful. What the heck is a 6? 6 today 3 tomorrow, and 10 the next day. I stated before i don't like to give women a number. It can cause problems. very pretty works, attractive works, sexual looking works, and beautiful works. Hell even cute works for alot. But a 5 or 6, thats tough to deal with for any woman. We all like to think we are beautiful, and when someone tells you you are a 7 that can really blow your self esteem to hell.
I know thats how it's done at alot of places. But i never believed in the numbers game. Pamela, reason stated.

I haven't contributed to any of this stuff for a reason.

I don't get not liking someone because of their race or ethnicity. Or not being attracted to someone only for those reasons.

I don't like being generalized because of my gender, but hey, it's a dancers board, so fire away.

I don't subscribe to the layers of superiority among contact/noncontact topless/nude upscale/neighborhood that I see sometimes. For me, it's all good, and I don't see one "class" of dancer as being better than another.

In fact, if I allowed myself to get drawn into those types of discussions, I'd start thinking of the strip club world as something serious instead of recreational, and I'm there to have fun.

Candigrl, I agree with you in principle that we should "fuck what anyone else says" about our "appearance rating". Unfortunately, there is no escaping the reality that our "appearance rating" does matter to one person at least - the club owner we are auditioning for. If the clubowner doesn't think we "measure up" to his hiring standards, then we get zero opportunity to have our "variety" rewarded by his club customers.

Melonie you are right. I'm in NYC where you have to look a certain way or be a certain rate to get into a club. Gosh this business could be mean.
