My guess is that there is a reason that girl is being booked more often. Either A-she is very pretty, makes more money for the club than most girls....or B-she is dating someone who works there..manager...dj...Did you try to explain to the club that you need more shifts? Do they have other clubs that you could work at when you are not booked there? If not, I would look for another club to supplement your income. What club is it if you do not mind my asking? Many clubs do this to make sure the men have a variety of woman..and now always seeing the same girl.

That should read "not always seeing the same woman" what does the club tell you their reasons are for not booking you more?

Independant Contractors in almost every other industry deal with this situation constantly. Dancers have been, for the most part, spared from the overcrowded worker market but that situation is changing rapidly. In MANY Cities there are more girls who want to dance (strip) than there is dressing room space in the Clubs or Customer demand. With the Economy declining this situation will get worse as Clubs close and Customers stay home while more and more girls are willing to strip to make money.

In the Construction and Manufacturing Industries, where Independant Contractors fight constantly for new contracts, it is the accepted norm for contracts to be awarded based on kickbacks and "grease" rather than by anything remotely resembling "Fairness" . The Stripping "Industry" is getting to this point so you are not alone. While it does Suck to be the one on the short end of this stick, it's something that other IC's have dealt with for years. Reality check.

My dancing experience has given me a reality check, years ago. Before i knew how to "really" hustle, or get in with "the crowd," i found myself getting hours cut, or a phone call just saying they were too loaded with girls tonite. Then i watched what the other girls where doing, wearing, acting and i would kinda mimic them. My hours went up, i brought money into the club 3 fold! I got aot more hours. Clubs want girls who can hustle, and bring in money for "them." Thats what it's all about. And Lexi i am sure you are beautiful, and a great dancer. But i have found this to be true in every damn club i work. Like with any other business where you are selling a product, you have to SELL! Good luck! Pamela PS and as for more working days? Ask. And also ask why you get booked not often enough.

Lexi, if I remember correctly, don't you work at GGR ? For many years this club was independently owned, and developed a gold-mine business based on the principle that only a relatively small number of girls would be booked per night (versus customers), and that new girls would be booked every week rather than hiring a group of "house dancers" to work week after week to provide "fresh meat" for the customers.

In the last few months I know that GGR was acquired by the Lace/Stiletto chain which operates something like 10 other clubs in the NY/NJ area. Some of these clubs are huge earners like GGR and some others are pretty marginal. The first conclusion I might draw is that the new management has started changing the GGR booking procedure to accomodate other clubs in the chain and the dancers that work in them. You might have much better luck booking more weekends at GGR if you had spent the earlier part of the week dancing at Lace in Wayne, NJ or Lace in Nyack, NY or Stiletto in Nanuet, NY, as the dancers who get repeat weekend bookings at GGR probably have.

Another development in regard to GGR is that it has developed a massive "cult following" of repeat customers on some of the strip club review sites, to the point where they advance post the dancers bookings a week ahead. This is a departure from the old management business model of providing "fresh meat" every week, and I would guess that the new management is trying to capitalize on repeat customer business by re-booking the dancers they seem to feel the "cult" customers are infatuated with.

After all, Lace/Stiletto spent a ton of money buying this club and they need to earn cash fast to pay it off! Is their "favoritism" fair, probably not. Does it make business sense for them, they seem to think so! No offense intended, but given that the earnings potential of your average NJ club is something like 1/3 of what you are able to earn at GGR I would "count my blessings" on the days that you are allowed to book. I'm sure there are literally hundreds of girls who would be happy of the opportunity you already have.

I'm sure that as time goes by, Lace/Stiletto will continue to make more changes at GGR in order to maximize their earning potential from ALL of their clubs as a whole, even if it is detrimental to old management GGR dancers earnings and bookings, even if it introduces a requirement that GGR dancers also be willing to work at other clubs in the Lace/Stiletto chain even if that means an hour's extra drive and lower earnings potential for the dancers at less lucrative clubs in the chain (which many of the Lace and Stiletto girls already are required to do), etc. Welcome to Corporate Clubs!

I would also think twice about confronting GGR management over this booking issue. In a club chain as large as Lace/Stiletto, it's entirely possible that management could simply decide to fire ALL of the complaining dancers, make a couple of phone calls, and have 10 new girls on stage at GGR in less than an hour! This happened to me once when I was one of 11 dancers who complained that a new 12th dancer was providing excessive mileage during private dances. Before the night was over, all 11 of us were fired, the clubowner called some of his clubowner buddies, and 6 replacement dancers had showed up all providing the same mileage level as girl #12!

I also don't doubt for a second that it's possible that "preferential bookings" might be the result of some "special relationship" between a particular dancer and a particular club manager (and it might be at a different club in the Lace/Stiletto chain, too!). When I first auditioned for Stiletto 2 I didn't have to audition on stage at all - instead I was asked to give the manager a "private dance" in his office !!!!!

    I agree Pamela
you have to be able to not only spend money on you, but on the club as well....once you learn that you should be okay...
but i would bet the farm that that girl you mention is seeing 'someone' in the club thats involved with scheduling.
    but thats just my opinion
    good luck sweetie

    Girls thanks for the advice.
Melonie you are right about that and I totally count my blessings that I can work there but I just wanted to know how I could get more days. See, I really dont know as much as you girls cause I have only been dancing for a few months now. Basically the only thing that bothered me was the one new girl getting about 12 days. I have a couple of regulars and can rake in agreat deal of money but if I am only there once in a blue moon, a lot of people will never know who I am. =O
    Thanks for the advice.
As a matter of fact, the management is great there. I'll just ask why I dont get more days as opposed to, "it isnt fair" lol

If you have regulars, do they have your cell phone or voice mail pager #? Get hired in some other area clubs and frequently communicate with your "followers" to meet you at the other clubs where you can work as much as you want.

Nowadays it is imperative to build up strong communication with interseted customers who will come to see you wherever you work in town.Since you have to be gorgeous to work at GoGoRama, I'm sure you can get into some other clubs and funnel your good spending customers from there to the other clubs.

Tina has good advice, but be careful in choosing other clubs to work at that you don't hook up with the Delilah's chain if you still want to work at GGR. The Delilah group are arch-enemies of the Lace/Stiletto group and I have heard that Lace/Stiletto actually sends "spies" into the Delilah clubs to spot any Lace/Stiletto dancers working there. Rumor has it that if a Lace/Stiletto dancer is found working for a Delilah's club she needn't go back to any of the Lace/Stiletto clubs - EVER.

    OMG
Melonie the same thing happened here in my city!
a new club was built and the rumor was if u worked there u could'nt come back to the beef or flesh's where i work
after the club was open about a week..i went in with a friend for a drink to check it out...not that i wanted to work there because it's the complete opposite end of the city from where i live..
anyway, the next week when i go to the beef to work, the d.j. says' i heard u were at ***" and i said "i went in for a drink, how does that constitute working there" and he basically said if i go there i can stay there.....and yes i heard from anther reputable source there were guys in there that worked for the two rival clubs watching for girls from our two bars. unbelivable....
i cant belive this goes on
we were basically made pawns so the new club owner couldnt get girls
    how shitty is that?
    blessed be

Whoa, that is really fucked up. I think girls should be able to work where ever they want to work, it is not like the clubs are paying the girls to work there.
It is unbelievable that the dj gave you a hard time about having a drink in a bar, for crying out loud. You are free to have a drink where ever you damn well please.
When I worked in Buffalo, the club I worked at was not affiliated with any other clubs in the area, so the owner told the girls they had to work there all the time or not at all. I still worked at another one once in a while, if they fired me it would have been their loss...and I ended up leaving anyway.

The club I'm leaving had a similiar situation.

It was affliated with another club nearby and dancers were allowed to work at one or both of the clubs.... HOWEVER ... it was best that one quit if one wanted to work at another (not affliated) club.

Here on the Gold Coast, unless the club is affliated with another club, you pretty much have to stick to one club for work. It is "frowned upon" to work at any other club that isn't affliated with the one where you work.

Ya, that happens a lot where clubs spy on each other and theaten the dancers with termination if they are found out. It seems to be especially true of paranoia about newer and/or really good clubs--obviously the guys are worried "their" girls might actually enjoy themselves or make a little money, LOL.

It all boils down to a root insecurity and inability to give up the power game, when the very best thing to do is be so secure that you have the best club and policies that you would gladly let the dancers come and go as they pleased--they'll be back. The only justification is that you do need to have a schedule so there aren't 6 women one night and 60 another.

I was actually given money to cover my expenses and sent to the big new club that was "stealing" "our" dancers to see who was there. When I protested I was not a rat I was indirectly threatened with termination myself. So I went there, had some drinks and some fun, and didn't say a word about who I saw except one girl who laughingly told me to go ahead, she'd never go back anyway.

There is one club where I am the only guy who is allowed in there from another place, because I gave my word of honor I would do no recruiting or spying, and the manager knows I mean it. I've worked at three other clubs now and they always let me in (actually I'm there now for season).

welcome to Corporate Club management 2003 - where the business tactics are cutthroat, where dancers are considered to be interchangable and expendable, and where there are enough potential new dancers trying to work in any clubs with decent earnings potential that the clubowners can get away with treating (or mistreating) their dancers any way they want (and DJ's too!). Unfortunately, this is now a fact of life in most areas of the USA and it's getting worse by the day.
