I have danced all over the place - in different cities and a few different states. I have never had a problem getting hired anywhere that I have auditioned. I have danced at all types of clubs also. If anyone is familiar with Flashdancers in NYC -(a top shelf club relatively hard to get hired at) I worked there as well. Today I went in for an audition at a club that shall remain nameles just in case anyone from there happens to be reading this. I hope they do - because they need to be told off. I went in and talked to the manager, who told me everyone starts off with days. Well, I am a college student and it is impossible for me to work day time shift. He said I should audition and we would talk to the owner when he arrived. I told him that I was not going to audition unless it would be ok for me to work nights...to which he said "ok, i have a good feeling about you..." I did my audition. It went Ok as far as I could tell. All of the guys were very complimentary, and not all of the girls were GREAT. I was better looking than some of them. I even got asked for a dance as I was working. The only thing that I could see as a problem was that i borrowed a garter from someone who was larger than me, so it fell off in the middle of my song, with all the money on the stage. I picked it up. didnt think it was a big deal. When I got off stage, I was told to go see the manager. He told me to turn around, and said to get dressed, and that I could come back to make bookings. I think Im hired. I get dressed and the manager then tells me hell call me (he didnt even have my phone number) SO I blatantly asked him if i was hired or not. Cause we all know that if they say they will call you, they never will. He said yes you are hired, if you were not hired I would tell you that you were not hired. The manager and owner both had excuses that they owned other clubs and were trying to figure out the schedules. I was not allowed to book for this month or any month. I asked if I could call them , and the manager said OK, (but i think its bullshit because what is he going to kno on wednesday that he doesnt know now) Anyway, I do not understand what the problem was. Obviously they didnt think I was attractive enough to work there...or they just manipulated the situation (knowing that they were not going to give me nights) BUt I dont think this was it because he could have always just said well we can only offer you days. Anyway - The managers were extremely ignorant. I know that they see naked woman every day - but that doesnt give them a right to treat people (whether they are pretty or not) without respect. They made me feel like I went out of my way to dance around naked for absolutely no reason whatsoever. When they probably knew BEFORE i took me clothing off if they were going to hire me or not. What do you girls think? Was it the garter? was it me? or should I call. (I dont even want to work for these people anymore so calling is kinda out.)Pissed as hell. -Ashliegh
