    Default Pasties.....HELP!!!!!!

HI everyone. I need some SERIOUS help!
In the state i work, the superior court just mandated pasties! YUCK!!!!
i am having a big problem here. every time i take them off, i lose skin! i have tried everything i can think of, from soaking in hot water to soaking in baby oil, and nothing helps!!!!
ive been wearing them now for a week, and my chest is so sore. i have little scabs all over from ripping these things off, and every time i do take them off, i bleed!!!!i am so afraid i am going to wind up with scar tissue. the skin is now so rough and cracked!
    any advice appreciated!!!!!! hugs.....Shawn

Can you just wear bandaids as pasties?

after you get them to heal. try liquid latex and put a shimmer powder on top so it is plainley seen.

Try putting on makeup like "revlon color stay" before putting on pasties. this will create a base between your skin and the pasties. Is liquid latex okay or do you have to wear fabric pasties? If it has to be fabric pasties, try the stick on "Breast Petals" that you can buy at most department stores like J.C. Penney's. If you can wear liquid latex, one great resource is puffy (or 3-D) fabric paint. This comes in all the colors of the rainbow, as well as glittery styles. You can buy it at any craft store, fabric store or at most stores like Wal-Mart that have a crafts section. It is pretty cheap, about $1 for a small bottle (one ounce size, lasts like a bottle of nail polish). I have even known dancers who use nail polish as pasties, but my skin is way too sensitive to handle using nail polish remover on my chest every night.

Do NOT buy the pasties that are sold at lingerie or sex toy stores. These are fine if you are showing off for your boyfriend alone at home, but it takes way too much adhesive too try to keep them on where if one falls off you could get a ticket for indecent exposure.

Some dancers simply use band-aids. They make larger circular style band-aids, in the normal band-aid color, or in clear. Band-aids or puffy paint are your least expensive option.

I also happen to think that maybe you are allergic to latex? The adhesive for pasties is made of latex, as is the main ingredient in the puffy fabric paint. Then if this is the case, you may be stuck with the Breast Petals, or with Band-aids as your only options.

For best removal of pasties, try taking a shower and removing them in the water gently, not by ripping them. This shouldn't hurt at all. I use the puffy fabric paint, and they peel off nice and easy in the shower, sort of like those peel off face masques. It should not hurt. The Breast Petals should be about the same a band-aids, and come off fine in the shower.

Very true Velvet. Liquid latex is inexpensive and dries on quickly, and peels off easily without harming the nipple. You must start around the sides slowly, because liquid latex will stretch some, and slowly start to peel when you get the latex to open off a bit pour some light cooking oil inside, and it will come right off. I use it alot now. ALSO.. Simple trick: Before you apply the liquid latex all around the Areola, put a small piece of toilet paper or tissue, (even a band aid if you can tolerate it at this point.) Use enough though. over your nipples. The latex will dry all around the covering, and no one will notice they have a small amount of tissue over your nipples.
Also any novely store sells pastie glue. Is that what you are using, and it bothers you?
Gosh i have gone as far as using Poligrip for dentures on pasties, but i cover my nipples well underneath with tissue, because night after night they will get irritated, and sore to the point of peeling skin. Hope this helps..Pamela

Thanks for the tips. LOL I will test them all out!!!! i use the color stay make up, so ill try that first. GREAT idea!!! we are not allowed to wear band aids! the petal ones are the ones i use now - that's whats causing the skin to rip off.

man, do i hear you about the new pasties rule, Shawn! our housemom just found this hypoallergenic hospital tape that works great! stays on all night and peels off really easily without tugging the skin at all. the only thing is, your nipples can't have lotion on them or the tape won't stick very well. i have a skin allergy to most types of adhesives, so this stuff was a godsend for me. i don't know if it comes in double sided sticky or not... we just cut out the circles and paint them pretty colors or slap stickers on top of the tape (dots, swirls, gold stars, playboy bunnies, shammrocks, care bears... my, aren't we creative? )

i don't think your problem is an allergy though... skin allergies tend to swell and/or itch as well as being red and sore. sounds like it's just skin irritation from peeling the buggers off. nipple/aereola skin is soooo delicate. while they're healing, put neosporin or some other healing oilment on them, cover with a piece of tissue or gauze, and use the hospital tape in a slightly larger size so the outside edges of the tape stick to your skin and keep the tissue underneath in place so you can get healed without annoying the area further. when you aren't working, keep the area medicated and covered until there's no more open wounds (bleeding means there's an open wound). once that happens, keep using the neosporin and keep the area uncovered as much as possible. rashes, like burns, need to be exposed to the air to heal properly.

i know you can by the hypoallergenic hospital tape in most pharmacies, but they usually only carry it in white, and it's usually in much thinner strips then your nipple/aereola area. our housemom found it in flesh colored that's good and wide so you only need one piece to cover even big nipples... i'll ask her where she was able to find it if you want.

i like the idea of the latex peel off paint... i just don't know if this new law allows for that or not.

Shawn, my best advice is to skip the pasties and head across the nearest state line to a club in NJ or NY or OH or whatever before the "stampede" starts. This new pastie law is going to put a serious dent in PA club earning potential, and you don't want to wait until the majority of PA dancers discover this and are lining up ahead of you trying to get into clubs in neighboring states.

I have to agree on Melonie on this one. I used to have to wear pasties until I started working in Ontario, and most of the customers I came into contact with thought pasties were very unattractive, unless you can do a good job to make them really blend in. What a lot of girls at my club would do is take medical tape and then put foundation over it so it blended in and looked somewhat natural. I tried medical tape once and almost cried when I had to pull it off. I actually used contact paper, the stuff that you line drawers with. I painted them with nailpolish but it still looked pretty obvious. Anyway, I am SO glad that I don't have to wear them anymore...and btw I would like to shoot the person who invented the idea of pasties to begin with!! (or at least make that person wear them too.)

Shawn, I have worked in pastie clubs before, and have found that fabric paint works very well.....
It peels off very easy, drys quickly, and you can have it in very close to skin tones...We had Vice in one night, and I was pulled from the floor to "check if I was covered" in my club I was just fine....I don't know if this would work in your area . Cyn

Geez, I just quit the nude club I was working at in PA. I went home with $103 for a 6 hour shift and still had to pay house fee. I WAS thinking of working at a pastie club but not any more!! Yikes. My nipples are very sensitive to pain. Also, I'm much more fond of nude clubs. Anyone from Jersey? Or NYC?
