    Default t shirt review

i have worked at my club for 2 years and we had these only on a rare occasion, i believe to get rid of shirts that were never sold. now last weekend i come in and we have to sell a shirt every weekend night. it used to be 10 for the house 10 for the dancer, you dont sell give it back. now it is 15 for the house 5.. yes 5 for the girl and if you dont sell you buy. so effectivly raiseing my house fee 15. just curious how it is for everyone else out there for these reviews. do you have them? if so how much do you pay ect ect

Well, Velvet, if you do work at Mollys in Daytona this season get used to those damned T-shirt specials--they made me do them once an hour when it was busy, the greedy bastards! They change the rules a lot about the girls buying them or whatever, I could never keep up with everyone elses' rules changes there, just trying to deal with my own.

I say, if you want to sell T-shirts, open a damned souvenir stand, and let the women dance! I have lost a crowd my co-workers & I have labored to keep entranced more than once from an especially ill-timed special----the best time being never.

The only thing good about them is that the guys can see all the women at once, and the DJ can play the dinosaur rock the manager is screaming for, but I'd much rather forego the whole ordeal.

The only t shirt thing I have ever done was, I wore it on stage and the guy who tipped the most (at least $20) could come up and take it off with his teeth and keep it. The dancer kept all of her tips on stage. I can't believe that clubs actually expect dancers to sell t shirts or buy them, you are an entertainer, not a retail worker. There are definitely some greedy club owners out there.

With the economy turning down and door/drink sales dropping, dancers can expect more and more marketing tricks like T-Shirt sales with a large percentage going to the club. It's also a fact, in a down economy, that more (new) girls are willing to dance for less money so keep this in mind when you complain. The Club has to make money too or nobody has a place to work.

oh i wont complain it wouldnt do any good. but my club does plenty in drinks and a huge amount in food. trust me they aint hurtin. they have been having record booze sales in dec. he's just greedy. on the plus side my house fee is small so the 15 wont hurt me i just was curious who else was dealing with this.

Well, we do them at my club but if you don't sell the shirt you sure as hell don't have to buy it. The only place I ever worked where the dancer was responsible for buying unsold merch was at a (of course) Deja Vu. And I lasted there about 3 days.

Oh lord, the dreaded T'shirt dance...

My club has this and we do it every night around midnight.

We all put on our shirt and parade on stage, strut the floor and sell a shirt and dance for $15.00. $10.00 of it goes to the club, which means I'm doing a dance for $5.00!

    I ask for $20.00 though....

Then if you don't sell the stupid thing, you go back on stage and dance during the shirt song with any other girls that did not sell it.

There are also times when it's not a shirt.... but a hat, ashtray, mug, or boxers....

We do a 2-4-1 review once a shift. Two LD's and the club merchandise (t-shirt, golf towel, hats, beer huggies) for $20, LD's are $25. We get $5 if the custy takes the merchandise, $10 if they don't and we "sell" it back to the bar. If we don't sell it we're not responsible for paying for it. Nobody likes doing them, it's a pain in the ass.

Heh....at my club, we had to sell lighters, mouse pads, t shirts, caps...

It was annoying...you had to BUY the item for $10 and then sell it to the customer. The dance price stayed the same ($20), though. We did SEVERAL a night...especially on the weekends. The worst part is that my house fee was still $100 just to work that night...plus 20% tip-out...it's just a racket.
