    Default Sticking Around

I'd like to know how many girls out of a 100 per. actually stay with dancing after a week. I was talking with one of my guys friends and I was explaining to him that I believe most girls that start stay with it because of the money potential, but he thinks otherwise... What do you think?

Honestly, what I've seen in the past 7 years has been that about 9 out of 10 girls stick it out more than a week, for various reasons. It isn't always the money - didn't make much myself at my first club, but I adored working my own hours and wearing / listening to anything I wanted.

The real question you should ask is how many stick it out longer than 6-12 months. Then it starts getting much more difficult to calculate, because this industry has a higher turnover rate than almost any other.

Agree many girls come and go,when asked why, they are not making the money they thought. Well you have to build up a clientel first, any job takes work, after one week; you never gave the job a chance. And, some say they can't handle rude remarks, and guys touching, drunks, other dancers, theft and seeing some "not so good action." They are the girls that are not cut out for this type of job in my opinion. It's rough sailing at first for us all, lots go across country in hopes of a great paying job! Yea, i can't even tell how many i have seen just walk out to never come back! High count indeed. Pamela

I believe that more girls stick it out then quit. I would have to say out of 100, I'd have to guess 75-85 stay around for a while. Usually a while is a couple of years. I agree with Pamela it takes a while to build up your clientele, this is the true test of strength and most ladies give up. On the other hand the larger percent sees the income potentail, the schedule flexibility, being able to work wherever and of course dressing up and lookin pretty.

In the NorthEast, very few girls who survive the first week of dancing will leave dancing later - by choice anyhow. A number of girls, however, have essentially been forced out of dancing if they didn't have the "goods" or the earning power to be able to get (or continue to get) club bookings under today's highly competitive conditions. With the severe lack of other alternatives in the NorthEast, i.e. decent paying "straight" jobs, many dancers are "hanging on by their fingernails" despite poor earnings levels in whatever clubs are willing to hire them.

i think alot of girls stick it out more than they quit
id say of 20 girls ive worked with in the last four years ..12 are still there...6 are in rehab and 2 got married
i think the flexibility is the biggest factor in staying
    blessed be
