Hmmm. The "right" answer is that females are better. In the clubs I've worked at female managers have been more on top of things, more available, more involved, etc. But they've also expected a lot more from the dancers. So, in a lot of ways they are harder to work for, but I think that they do run a club better. Just as a generalization. There are many exceptions, of course.

There is a women named, "CONNIE" that is a manager for, "Club Risque" in Philadelphia. The most Angry, Bitchie, uncooth, lady and I do use the word lady loosly, manager I have had the displeasure of working around. The female jealousy mixed in with the North Eastern attitude is the most unattractive and difficult personality to deal with. With that said, I totally prefer working with men. They may want to fuck me but at least they don't hate me.

Generally speaking I'd rather work for a woman. I agree with Lena that they do expect a lot more from dancers but they usually do more for the dancers. Also ,in my experiences, the clubs ran by women tend to be cleaner (bathrooms, floor area, dances, ect.). Agieed, I think women can handle work related issues better than men at the clubs.

I generally agree. Most of the time a woman makes a better strip club manager, so long as she is secure with herself and doesn't get on some jealousy trip (like Candice's example). I have worked with a couple women and they were tougher than the men, but they also kept on top of everything better, were more available, and didn't have the favortism issues that most men do. The customers in those clubs had a higher degree of respect for those managers, because they knew the ladies didn't take any crap and they were personable at the same time. Also, women tend to work harder in general, so they will tend to run a tighter ship than most men.

    Problems with most male managers:
Favoring the girls they 'like' or the ones who provide them with favors.
Lazing around in the office and being difficult to locate in times of crisis.
Bringing in their buddies and allowing them to treat the girls poorly and/or generally get away with more while paying less.
Hitting on the dancers and waitresses.
Sometimes, soliciting sexual favors from dancers and waitresses.

Those are just some of the main ones.

    Potential problems with female managers:
Carrying emotional baggage and/or PMS symptoms into the club.
Being jealous of younger dancers and waitresses, and acting accordingly.

Now, if it were me, I'd prefer the latter set of potential problems, because if you weed through applicants properly, those potential problems can be basically eliminated.

    Hi Guys,
Well Ed, in My experiance Female managers tend to be more understading and willing to listen. I think my Mananger now is one of the greatest there is and very helpful. I am a new dancer and she took me under her wing and really showed me the ropes, right down to how to grip the pole. I've danced with a Male manager and they can be a bit mood at times. (Depending on if you try to flirt with them to get on their side) I don't like to play those games with a manager, a customer is a diffrent story. I hope I answered your question. I love this Forum. Everyone is very professional and they give great tips. Thanks again!
    Always,
    Nickky

    Excellent question.

women do tend to run a tighter ship in my experience, they expect you to be more professional which I have no problem with.
all of the above examples of why are very good. I've also found that women are a little more sympathetic to issues we may have with children (eg. when one is sick, school plays etc.)

I"d love to see a club owned and run by professional women who are ex-dancers themselves. LIke to do it myself one day,in fact.

I also work for a club where the women owns it with her husband, she also used to be an dancer. Although she is tougher, like you guys have said most women are... she always sticks up for the dancers and makes sure that we are not being mistreated by customers. She encourages tipping all the time from customers and is very leniant when you have a problem. When I worked at a club run only by males, although they were nice, you didn't get the same kind of "understanding" as you do in a female run club.

My favorite club with the best owners was run by a guy and his parents. His mom was a former stripper who started up the club, then the son took over. It was the best of all worlds.

We agree there is always the exceptions, but for the most part,in this industry, females really suck when it comes to running a club, running dancers,or even scrubbing toilets or puke off the floor.
Even promoting one to "head dancer"puts them in the hot seat with all the other girls, even if they dont want to admit it.

Dancers can rant about it all day long, but in the end,the proof doesnt lie,and its sitting in front of us all to see.

Would anyone agree that there are 100 male managers/owners for every 1 female owner/managers??(we all know its far more in reality right )

If females COULD do it better, this industry is allllllllll about money,THEY would be running the clubs.

If they could they would, they CANT,so they DONT.

Its all about the most money with the least drama.

You dont gotta agree with me,look for proof when you go to work tonight.

    99% of you(who actually work in a club)will be working for a male owner/manager.

In my experience, female owners/managers are either one of two extremes;they can be the coolest people to work for or the biggest b*tches to work for.The can be either cool and understanding and down with how you feel or can be the some seriously money grubbing slavedrivers.

I still like the male owners/mgrs. At least I know what they are thinking most of the time, lol.

The absolute best manager I have ever had was Shariff at Rick's.He said "Hello" to you everynight he saw you and asked how you were doing. He talked to you like you were an actual person, not just boobs walking around.Hank, former manager of The Gold Club was the same way.

The club I used to work at was managed by a woman, and I got the distinct impression she didn't like her work (the hours do suck, granted) and had little respect for the girls who danced. I'm not sure if she was ever a dancer herself, but I really would have expected a woman working in that environment to be able to better empathise with the dancers than she did. The most sour, disdainful hostess at my old club used to be a dancer, and every girl who worked there as a dancer felt that she looked down on us. The nicest, most helpful hostess had also worked as a dancer, and always offered to discuss any concerns we had with the club's owner if we felt they weren't being adequately dealt with.

I can't say what it would be like working for a male manager, but it would depend on the individual guy. I hate to generalise about men or women because I've met perfectly horrid as well as perfectly lovely individuals of each sex.

The best managers I've ever worked under were male, but I've had good female managers in Sydney - unfortunatly though they can only do so much when the rest of the club isn't run so well...

The one club I worked at female owned was very classy, clean, and accomodating to the girls. It was very corporate type atmosphere with great food. On the flip side it was so nice that it was always full of female customers (with their hubbys) . Turned more into a night club on weekends. Money was bad! Like working for men better.

Imagine my smug non-surprise when I discovered three ex-dancer managers I worked for pushed their dancers harder than they allowed themselves to be pushed in their dance days...
I have more hate for a woman who maltreats other women than a man- you expect it from a man, but a woman should know better. But this is a backwards world anyways.
I prefer to work for men.
