Default where in LA area to work?? please help

ok, well here is my sobb story. i just moved here from st. louis with my boyfriend under the pretense that he had a job lined up and i could concentrate on school and bartend rather than dance. boy did things not work out like we planned. He did not get the job and now i cant even afford to registar for school and rent is due $1800. OUCH . so i have to get back to dancing asap.
anyways i have only danced in one club in st. louis and i am completely freaked out about dancing in LA. I am worried that the girls out here are going to be tottaly different from the girls in st. louis. i am scared i will be the ugly duckling. i am not ugly and my body is good, but i hear all southern cali girls are tall, long blonde hair, big boobs and gorgeous. I called a club called the jet strip, but got freaked out because of the surrounding area and the crappy cars that were in the parking lot. i am used to making 300 0n a bad night.

please please please help. does anyone have any suggestions, tips anything.

p.s. i saw a club called the score off the interstate anyone have any comments on that club?????

check out the club reviews at . In general, the LA area club earnings potential for "just dancing" hasn't been all that good lately. This is due in part to a threatened new LA anti-dance club no contact ordinance, which managed to spook quite a few customers. In fact, many LA dancers who fit your description of "tall, blonde, big boobs and gorgeous" find that it's worth the trouble to fly to Vegas or other cities on weekends rather than work LA clubs (so the competition might not be as stiff as you're expecting).

I agree with Melonie. I live in SD and go to Vegas. Most girls in Vegas are either from LA or SD...it's too strict to make any $$ in LA and you dont get the sheer volume of people that you do in Vegas

check out the club reviews at http://www.zbone.com/club/reviews/striplac.htm . In general, the LA area club earnings potential for "just dancing" hasn't been all that good lately. This is due in part to a threatened new LA anti-dance club no contact ordinance, which managed to spook quite a few customers.
In case anyone wasn't aware, that threatened ordinance was partially repealed last month when opponents of the law gathered enough singnatures to force a referendum. The city didn't want to spend over a million dollars to have it, so a compromise was reached that kept lap dances and stage tipping legal and removed the 6' rule.

    from the LA Citybeat ...

"Still up for debate is the council’s attempt to outlaw private “VIP rooms” at strip clubs. Miscikowski argues that vice officers have a hard time seeing what’s going on inside them and that prostitution could occur out of view. “VIP lounges will no longer be okay,” says Tessler. “All the areas where entertainment is going on need to be open. That really allows our vice and investigators the ability to walk through and see there’s no problems.”

But Steve Afriat, a hired lobbyist who ran the signature-gathering campaign at supermarkets, sporting events, and the clubs themselves, is holding out for the rooms.

“We’re trying to have the council understand that VIP rooms are what we call them, not dark little rooms where illicit activity is going on,” Afriat says.... "

Well, if this compromise LA ordinance bans VIP/Champagne rooms and forces all private dances to be done in plain view, it's NOT going to be good for business that's for sure. Also, in many LA clubs I know, "dark little rooms where illicit activity is going on" seems a pretty accurate description ! This is particularly true of most clubs with decently high earnings potential.

Daisy, that is a purely bullshit stereotype about how all LA girls look.

If you were to look at census figures or just drive around the LA area which is about 16 million people, you would find that the predominant race is Hispanic and that white people only make up less than 40% of the population.

California's major cities have a much higher cost of living than the Midwest and quite frankly you are better off going back to St. Louis.

If you HAVE to stay, I would focus on clubs in Orange or San Bernadino County because of the lap dance laws. The way the areas look mean nothing in the LA area. It is an old city and the clubs tend to be in older areas just like the clubs are all in one run down area in the Illinois side of St. Louis.

I don't want to sound negative, but you may have a hard time trying to make ends meet in LA off of this business. The steadiest money nowadays comes from areas outside of the major metropolitan areas.

I moved from LA to Vegas because dancing out there is a real pain in the ass. I heard that LA used to be a good place to dance a few years ago from girls who used to be in the business.
As for competition, you will see a few good lookers, but even more overweight uglies. There are a lot of fights between dancers in the LA stripclubs because business is so bad. Be careful and show respect to the dancers who have been around for a while. In my opinion, you are better off working in a club with the best looking dancers that you can find becuase there is less risk of some jealous fuglie picking a fight with you.
The economy in CA is really bad and has been for the last couple of years. The average earning potential in the recent economy is $100 - $250. Full nude clubs are the best places for making $$$ because they are not as strict as the topless clubs. Of course the nude clubs will charge you at least 50% of your earnings if not more.
Do a search on LA clubs on this site and definately check out zbone.
