I am a newbie to dancing, so I don't really know very much about good money seasons and bad money seasons. Is it only Illinois, or are other states doing poorly to money-wise from dancing?

other states are suffering to honey im in north carolina ...its just the economy but it could also be the club your at have u tried different club or considered traveling?
Right now I'm not at any club in Illinois, I want to travel but don't have the money. I was thinking about working then spending the whole month of December on the East Coast. I wish I had friends in NYC I could stay with, that would help so much, since I want to go to New York.

We are SOOO suffering in Washington State, but hopefully it will all turn around...
I'm located in Baltimore, and we too are going through the same thing. I hope it changes soon...

Between the poor economy leaving customers with less money to spend, anti-dance club ordinances limiting the things dancers can do in clubs to convince customers to spend money, and the creeping "extras factor" where some dancers are now offering a lot more than just dancing during private dances and customers are becoming reluctant to spend money on private dances without extras, virtually every region of the US and Canada are hurting in regard to dancer earnings potential.
Even when things are bad all over, there is a certain seasonality which you can take advantage of. As winter approaches, business usually picks up in southern vacation states particularly Florida. This usually works in reverse for northern states, as potential customers have to spend more money on heating bills and some head south for vacations! However, the month of December is usually notoriously bad almost everywhere as people universally cut back on "frivolous" spending with Christmas coming up.
Here's hoping that by next March or April that #1 Bush's tax cuts result in some large tax refunds, part of which will get spent in clubs, #2 the stock market and businesses will continue in an uptrend, resulting in some decent profit sharing bonuses, part of which will also get spent in clubs. Between now and next March travelling to "greener pastures" to dance is probably going to be a hit or miss proposition.
Its even slow in South FLorida, trust me its not nobodys fault. Its actually WORK to make go home with 600 or more unless you do the champagne room
Most people would rather be certain they're miserable, than risk being happy.
