It might be worth it to take a look at:

Janet does bookings for clubs in Roppongi, Tokyo. I have heard mixed things about it - some dancers do very well, others make nothing. October through December, esp. Dec. is the busy season so jump on it.
I never danced in Japan, but I did live there. Japanese men often like their western women to be blonde, blue-eyed, and big-busted. Lots of cookie-cutter Aussies and Russians as your competition.
If you do not fit the "Pamela Anderson" mode you might want to play up your "kawaai" factor. Kawaai roughly translates as cute, but it also has a nuance of sexy in a underage, jailbait kind of way. If you've seen manga or anime you'll know what I mean. Get bangs, wear pigtails, carry a hello kitty purse, speak in a really high pitched voice and giggle, a lot.
Hope this helps.
my girlfriend from amsterdam was at 7th heavan this summer. she called my every day crying. you make no money dancing(at 7th heavan anyway) a customer comes in you have to sit with him give him a card w your name on it. not allowed to ask for dance you may sit there 1 hour and get nothing. the club tells you if the customer calls you youre expected to go out w him after work. at 6 am! if you dont you have to pay club xtra money or something. she made no money the girls doing the "dates" seemed ver happy she said. i guess the japanese pay well for prostitution
Chez Paree!!!!!!!!!!! I miss Montreal
Japan though, I had the misfortune of seeing a banana show up close and personal..... I will never eat another banana again.
Little note - I've never worked in Japan, but I know a lot of girls who did. You are expected to go out with the customers, you are not expected to sleep with them. I know it sounds weird and unbelievable, but still the case. If you don't go out after work with the customers you will not likely make money because you can't hustle in the same way, and you can't really nickle and dime your way like in some other clubs. You need high paying regulars. Although take this advice with all sorts of salt, because I've never actually been there or anything.

There's quite a bit of info posted in other threads about dancing in Japan, some of which I've posted. I have a friend who worked here with me for a few months last year, who's from Japan, and another who's from here who went to work in Japan last winter. Both worked at Private Eyes, the club with best earning potential, and both said pretty much the same things. You have to work 6 nights per week, calling out sick requires doctor's note or you get fined and/or lose pay. You have to go on dinner / shopping dates (no sex) with customers, and they will spend money, but apparently the money is no better than what we make over here, when you factor in all the time you have to spend to make it. Consider if you work there for a month and earn $10000, but you had to work all but 5 nights of the month, plus had to go on dates with the customers after / before work - you'd be pretty much working constantly. We could theoretically do the same thing here - work 6 nights a week in a decent-earning club plus go out with alot of customers, and you'll probably pull $10000 plus.
Do a topic search and you'll find lots of info already posted.
