    Default London (UK)

Has anyone worked in London before? If so, how are the clubs over there? I’m moving over there for school and I wanted to continue working in the business, considering I’m going 2 need the money to survive. The only thing is I’m not sure how the clubs are. Are the rules different from the US? What would be a good club to work in?
Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Again.

Well, here's a link to the most recent thread in regards to dancing in London. Within it, there's also a link to another thread with info on the area clubs and whatnot. I can't really offer any more advice than what's already been posted there, so I hope it's of some use to you. I'm considering moving over there for grad school myself and I found it to be extremely helpful. Good luck!!

    Luv,
    Amber

Last summer I lived in Oxford and commuted to London on the Oxford Tube(bus)..I did much internet research and decided to work @ Stringfellow's(sp?)---You have to "apply"before 8 or 9pm(go early, like 5-7 just in case,or you will be sent away).

I arrived, via the underground train(I think I got off @ Picidilly Circus(sp?)--you can easily obtain a map @the depot that is present throughout London),and upon reaching the club,1st encountered the bouncer who sent me to a door around the bldg.,and rang a bell and was let in by some other guy--I waited a few minutes till a mgr. came out and gave me a lookover and instructed me to dress out, with an ultimate result being nothing but a g-string--no USA boy briefs,etc----So I did and came out, where I had to audition for the mgr.,who commaned I disrobe immediately--I guess he approved and hired me on the spot and told me some general rules--then the house mom told me the rest..

If I remember correctly the housefee was 80 [email protected]$USd---Then there was an additional 20 pound,$30USd ,fee for the house mom and a key for your locker--

I worked a night shift and just made enough for house fee's--I was overwhelmed with the trip that i'd made on my own,as it was my 1st time ever working in London. It was more experience rather than profit,as i suppose in my instance I need to feel a club out before I can be productive--Besides the fact that I was pretty much chestless,i was competing in an arena where 'sizeable' breasts were the norm(i've since been augmented and would like to give London a 2nd try!!)

I observed girls making tons of money, and in term's of the exchange rate a 200 pound night means 300$USd...There were all types and I was virtually ignored as all the girls are in est.cliques, and their own worlds--fine by me,so long as there's no drama or haters- the girls were nice, even though I had a tattle tale run to the manager, who took me aside and made some noise I can't remember--I guess you could say that they are pretty strict with dance formalities,as I clearly remember that the dance I was in violation with was minimal grindeage--I dunno, personally I think the dancer who told on me was a bit catty or something, obviously she wasn't minding her own business..Also the dancers there seem to make enough to afford Gucci,Prada,etc.---Hopefully I can find that out one day,and hopefully U will too!!

There are many clubs in London,it's all a matter of research---All U need to do is take 2 forms of ID,ie.,passport & driver's lic.--There was a Cheeta's i applied @ and was hired but never worked there. The clubs were very busy, and had an Americana feel, though of course obviously not USA

I suggest you locate an underground train map and forego taxi's all together,as they get VERY expensive--The regular bus is not a bad idea either, plus they run later then the trains, which will not be running after like2ish 3ish am-----Traveling alone obviously means that U should take xtra caution,so have a plan, have #'s of clubs so U can call and get specific instructions if lost, know your way around by getting a city map/and or mass transit maps--Basically go over prepared because London itself is an enormous metropolis, and it gets fusterating when you get lost---I found this out for myself and don't want it to happen to you...

Oh,there was also opportunity to work at String Fellow's in Paris..Good luck to you$$$$
