    Default International Dancing

First let me say sorry if there is already a post about this, it's hard to sort through everything...

I'm planning on traveling soon and I wanted to see if anyone has traveled and worked at clubs along the way. I'm looking to go to India first then SouthEast Asia and into Europe. Basically if there is work everywhere then I will go everywhere. If not, then I will limit where I travel and the time I'm gone.
Any info about past experiences, tips, suggestions and even details about working under the table would be great.

    Thanks in advance!

India? Why India? It's a huge cultureshock, unless you are from India. Might I suggest you go to thebestdancers.com? They do International bookings. Currently, they are booking for Guam. I decided not to go for personal reasons. Do you think maybe it would be a better idea to get your feet wet by first traveling around the US if you haven't aleady? I mean, you know the laws and the general protocol. The rest of the world is not like the US, except for maybe Canada.

I know it's tempting to think big all the time, but you have got to know what you are getting yourself into at least. Not knowing leaves you vulnerable to a host of icky terrible things.

    Please be careful

I know there's been a lot of info posted on London as I was thinking of going there at some point, as well. Other than that, there is a very limited amount of info that I've seen posted herein regards to international clubs. :-/ I'll try to dig up what I can for you and post links to some of the more relevant previous threads.

Also, as Juliette said, The Best Dancers has a lot of information related to international bookings. I know a good portion of their offerings are for bookings across Europe - not too sure about India or Asia, though. There was actually a booking posted there for a club in Italy that sounded like an interesting opportunity since I've always wanted to travel there myself. Although, as of yet, I haven't had a chance to look into it any further.

Whatever you decide, just be careful. Make sure you're well-informed prior to making any sort of definitive arrangements. Anyhow, that sounds like quite a lot of travelling you have planned out. Wishing you the best of luck!

**Update**: Here's a link to the most recent thread in reference to London. Be sure to check the link I posted within that thread, as well, since it has even more relevant info on the subject. Hope you find it somewhat helpful!!

Thanks for your concerns and quick replies. I've traveled quite a bit outside of the US and for long periods of time before so I'm pretty comfortable with the traveling part of it. True dancing is a much different ballgame and I do have to take that into consideration but I just wanted to get a feel for what might be out there. Like I said, if there are clubs that I can work at to continue funding further travels than I'd love to do that but if not than so be it.
Thanks for the input with Tokyo, i'll definity look into that as I'm a fair skinned natural redhead.

    Thanks again!

I’m not sure if you are still interested but, I have a little information about Spain ( Madrid only). I was dancing there for a pretty long time and truly I was making good money, but of coarse depends on each person, same as here. The difference there is, that there you need to be doing stage shows “ does Not mean that you have to have some angel, or police costumes or anything like that but, the performance on the stage is really important, because depends on that, are all the private dances & drings invitations.
Also there you don’t get any money on stage from costumers, but you get mostly 50% commission of the drinks which does not matter what are you drinking they are pretty expensive. Then you also get paid every night a fee, from the club for coming in. That mean you don’t have to pay the place anything they will pay you, so that is of coarse the best thing about it. But that is may experience from some years ago, if you are interested I could find out more.
