I am a fairly new dancer (In buis. approx. 6 months). Anyway, can anyone give me some advice about the buisness. Anything from making more money, attitude, costumes, etc..... The best advice comes from you all that have expierenced it. Thanx

One of the best pieces of advice I got on this board was to work consistently. It is sooooo tempting to not go in, either when you've had a great shift and don't feel like you need the money, or when you've had a crappy shift and are depressed.
Dancing is wonderful training for girls, it's the first way you learn to guess what a man is going to do before he does it. ~Christopher Morley, Kitty Foyle
Or browse thru the "articles" section TONS of info and help hints and guidance in there...
Shake it baby you wont break it!

Never explain yourself to anyone, because the person who likes you doesn't need it and the person that dislikes you won't believe it.
Hey DDdancer.. I am fairly new also but I have learned so much from all the wonderful ladies on this board and also from the articles posted..
In my estimation attitude is everything.. Always smile.. Be gracious to customers and staff.
Look like you are having fun while on stage because you know how some chicks in NJ just walk back and forth on stage staring blankly into the background. Customers hate this and get bored and don't tip lazy dancers (believe me I have heard them say don't tip so and so she is lazy).
Be imaginative with you costumes.. Sometimes I spice it up by wearing an army theamed outfit (army, nurse, domanatrix) or a gown or lingere.. Don't just break out the normal everyday bikini (especially on slow nights you want to stand out..).
Take pride in you appearance customers notice the girls who is ashy or has a fingernail missing or who worst of all DIDN'T SHAVE.
One of my best secrets is to use customers names when addressing them "Thank you Average Joe maybe later I can do a private dance for you" not just the average "Wanna Dance"?
I hope I gave you some useful info..
Thank you everybody who replied. Tini... I work in south jersey at the shore so lots of buss. in the summer. It is a bikini bar. It is a big club with a very well known name. Just lookin fore some helpful tricks of the trade! Thank you!!
My mind is just totally boggled by this site and how genuinely helpful the messages and replies are. I know as a dancer you are flodded with social invitations to just sit and look pretty and never have to put forth the effort that you would in replying to our newbie asses! I have, for the majority of the short time I have been dancing, encountered evil, evil, jealous and wicked women. Where are you from? Im in need!!!!!!!!!!!, of a road dog. Is there any old school out there?![]()
it is like stripper sister web hehe, i think this is one of the only places i can let my hair down, rant and rave about stripclubs etc.. it is great,.
Onya Sisters :-)
the best advice i can give is to always keep expression on your face. no one wants a dance by a girl that looks nervous or mad. be flirty and act like you are the star of the show. make them see your attitude and just want you. if you ask me, that means more than just plain dancing skill.

don't ever let the customer know that you have a boyfriend/husband. that's a bigger turn-off than throwing up.
Loli, that's not true. It's all in how you handle it. Whenever I've lied and said I don't, they can tell I'm lying and it breaks the rapport. You just have to make it something positive and then change the subject back to the customer.
