How are clubs in Dallas? laws, money, etc

Just got back from a vist - there are some beautiful clubs there but you need to settle in I think to really reap the benefits - on weeknights it looks like mostly regulars. I have hearrd rumors of an increased LE presence but didn't see anything while there.
Most clubs are topless. You are not required to get a license, and I didn't encounter any pasties or full-butt bottoms nonsense which I think occasionally happens around here.
I think that a motivated gal that was willing to stick around for a while would do quite well for herself. I would say that you could reasonably expect to not have a night worse than $200 in any given week here, and I do know girls that were topping $1000 on weekend nights (not me, dammit!).
I fully intend to head back to the Clubhouse to work again - I will review it and the Penthouse club in the reviews sections.
I heard that Dallas is a great place to dance. What is Texas like? Is it really like how it is portrayed in the movies? (coyboys etc)
what is texas like? hmm....
depends on which part of texas. im in west texas & yeah, there are some cowboys. but its really not that extreme... no kids riding horses to school or anything. there's a ton of large open spaces of land, which can be pretty. it can also be a pain if you feel like dancing out of town, since all cities seem to be 4 to 5 hours from each other.

Cities in Texas are pretty much like cities anywhere else. If you are in Austin you are an hour from SA, 2.5 from Houston and 3 from Dallas/Ft Worth. I think that Texas is actually a pretty good place to work, all things considered - there is a good variety of clubs and tipouts are low compared to some other areas. Plus dancing's fairly mainstreamed here, so it isn't much of a hassle.
Dallas = big money, big attitude Houston = money, sleazy attitude Austin and SA are more laid back but still with money. El Paso is closer to LA than any major Texas city, so I don't know much about it.
You are allowed to carry a gun in Texas; I think of that as the most redneck thing about the state. But you know, cities are pretty much cities. If I was considering moving here I would hang out in each one for a week or so because everyone has their own preference.
So there really is big money in Dallas? Ive heard mixed reviews. What are people like? Does mostly everyone have a southern accent?(strange question i know, but ive never been there...) To carry a gun, dont you have to go through the same procedure as in other cities in USA?

Regarding Texas. I have traveled around much of the country dancing and every major city is liveable.
Collette was prety right on. Don't listen to what you hear. Nothing portrayed on TV is real. I haveworked in El Paso, Austin Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston.
Major Texas cities are very diverse. El Paso is 80% Hispanic, 4% Black and 14% white. A white girl will do well in the clubs there and mny white girls dance.
Dallas and Houston are very diverse. Both have large black and hispanic populations and a strong rpresentation of Asians. They both have all your high end stores and have the glitziest titty bars in the US. San Antonio isa maor tourist city.
The texas "twang" is becoming diluted big time and many whites in the 5 major Texas cities have no accent at all or are from someplace else.
The cost of living is very reasonable compared to many large metro areas.
Where do you live now? Hav you considered driving there and checking it out for yourself. Once you go from city to city by car you will see that most are all about the same.
Now the other cities and towns in Texas like Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland and Odessa, Tyler, and Beaumont will have lots more people who talk in Texas twang and look like cowboys. And the towns in South Texas like Laredo, Brownsville, and Mc Allen will be virtualy all Hispanics.
Major Texas cities are lot like California and Florida major cities with a larger black population, rapidly growing hispanic populations and strong Asian and Middle Eastern pockets as well.
If you have been to LA, The SF Bay Area, or South Florida, Texas life in the large cities will be comparable.

Regarding Dallas and safety from club busts i recently talked to my friend who made her fortune there before the busts an she said IF you want to give dancing a try there focus on Sun-Wed nights as busts are less likely to occur on those nights.
Not a guarantee but ask around and find out how long it has been since a bust there.
I recommend for those with a hook up, getting an id and SScard with a name other than your own to supply the club. When you are busted in Dallas, the cops mail you a ticket so you ABSOLUTELY do not want them to have your REAL address and info.
If the club does not have you real info, but has an ID with a mail drop address on it with no link to the real you, the ticket is worthless and nothing will appear on your record and you can leave town.
I WILL NOT comment on IDs more. Those of you know who you are who have access to getting another REAL state ID and looks like real ss card.
Find out all you can from dancers, etc. about how often the clubs have been hit. Don't just go to theDallas/Ft. Worth area and work on luck.
I work and live in dallas. At Fare East.. girls there are pretty much family.. Its getting better and improving alot more then its been.. its a very old club i think its 25 years old now.. not sure..
I love it there ive been dancing there for about a year now
Anyone know anything about the Gentleman's Club???
i am new to Dallas , Texas. I want to do topless dancing. I want to it on weekends. Because I have regular job on Monday-Friday as a software developer. I want to start as soon as possible. I don't how to dance. I am willing to learn. it has been a dream of mine to become a exotic dancer since high school. I have great personality and nice body. I check with this one club owner. he told come by fill out application. but, I want keep my regular job until I am able to make as a dancer. I want to start out small before i make this a full time career.
hi, i am thinking about dancing at a club called ebony eyes in dallas i was just wondering do any one have any reviews on it. thanks a whole lot.
Maybe I misunderstood this comment, but are you supposed to promote illegal activity? Getting a ss card and dl in someone elses name or under false pretenses? I was just in shock when I read this.Originally Posted by Tina
i would not worry too much about getting busted, esp if you work at some place clean like TMC. I haven't heard about anyone getting busted in a while except i heard about some raids at BD's . Maybe buffie can say a bit more since I have been away for a while. It's always in the backof your mind but as long as you stay in the cleaner clubs I would not worry too much.
but ebony eyes really have not really been there long and at ebony eyes it is a pasties club and the manager told me they were very strict on rules so i don't think they been busted a lot. i heard dallas gentlemen's club is a bit rowdy is that true.
DG just looks seedy i would bypass that one if i were you , there are so many other choices out there. i have heard of some violence there, but who knows if it is true.
I recently went to a Dallas club & they wanted to copy my ID & SS card. The ID, I can understand, but SS card? All I could think about was that I graduate in four months & am going to enter a competitive corporate-type field... I do NOT want my SS linked to some strip club. Granted, I've worked in Vegas & I had a Sheriff's card (now expired) but the clubs never asked for my SS. Do all Dallas clubs require this?

I live in TX and if I recall correctly, every club I have worked at has asked me for my SS card. I don't believe prospective employers will go to strip clubs looking to see if you work there & usually the bar has a different name, a "cover-name" if you will, that they use for tax purposes, credit card stmts., and other things of that nature. For example, the bar that I work at has their known club name, then on credit card statements it shows up as Sento, or something similar to that, then for taxes I file under Fielding Entertainment. I suppose if your prospective employer found out that you worked at Fielding Ent. you could just make up a position that you held there.
I don't think they would go to prospective employers to see if I work there, I just don't want any affiliation when they run a background check. Good point though about the cover names, I forgot about that.

What the hell are ya'll talking about getting busted? Is that only for underage girls or something?
Basic background checks in corporate america aren't going to look at everything associated with your social security number. They are going to run a credit check and a criminal check. Even in competitive industries. Now I can't say they won't be able to find out though.....Originally Posted by RachelleD

The only club I ever had show up on my credit report was back when Expose still paid dancers waitress wage (which I don't think is common practice in Texas-style IC clubs with no set schedule) and it showed up on one credit report that I worked for the "Benelux Corporation." That could be anything.
Just my $.02, but committing several Federal criminal offenses now so that you'll be "pre-positioned," so to speak, to then be able to also commit State criminal offenses later with a fairly high degree of confidence that you won't be caught... all in an attempt to protect yourself from the relatively small possibility that you might someday be accused of committing a 'lesser-tier' State criminal offense is not the way to go. In effect, you'll be trading the slight chance of ever being accused of a "dancing violation" you have not yet committed (so strength of evidence against you not yet known and is realistic possibility of beating charge) for the slight chance of ever being caught re the multiple Federal or Federal&State crimes you've already in fact committed (and given nature of documentary evidence, as well as actual guilt, no realistic possibility of avoiding conviction). Why would you want to do this?Originally Posted by Tina

I got a 1099 and w2 from all clubs I worked at in Dallas last year. They were for the dance dollarsi earned for the year and anything else the club could use to show I was paid.Originally Posted by Susan Wayward

Ahhh, good to know! A lot of clubs don't keep track of funny money payouts; interesting and important to know they do there. Can I ask what they issued you a W2 for? Do they actually consider you an employee and pay you a salary?
