Default Portland Ore, Club Crawl Review

Thanks from all of you that gave advice on where to go.
We had a great time and met up with Heather Young :o at her club (read " a tale of two strippers" on the General Fourm" )

Hit Stars In Beaverton - Nice friendly club.
    Both Dolphins - Nice clubs

A couple of places on the way to Stars that were not on anyones list and we can see why. Hard to dance with a 8 foot ceiling and tons of cigarette smoke.

Heathers club was the most fun as all the girls were having a good time. None of the Jimmy Carter smiles that we saw at some other clubs. They knew the music they were dancing to and it helped their shows.

Having only worked back east the pit style of dancing was very different.

    Thanks to all

    Hey Gang,
Saturday is a planned trip to the big city and a club crawl is what we plan on doing.
So any recommendations on who to see and what clubs to go to?
    Also what clubs to avoid.

I am coming with my husband and his partner to look at interior club designs as they plan on opening a club this summer.
So let me know what you know.

    Le Q

Also husbands partner has never seen me dance any where I could sneak one in??

Don't live in Portland anymore, and was a minor when I did, buuuut. My brother says there's a place there called The Lush. Plush couches, chill, phat drinks, and as he says, "no skanky bitches trying to hit on you."

It all depends on what type of club you want to go to; strip club, hip club, hangout, booze bar. I have a million recommendations, just let me know what kind of atmosphere you're looking for and if there is any general area of town you would like to stay in (like near the hotel or whatever).

This is a total strip club crawl. We are really looking at club designs and will go from one side of the city to the other.

Upscale in design and we want to have fun doing it.

We plan on spending most of the day going in to just look at stage, lights and vip areas and then go back to party until the wee hours.

Well the only really upscale atmoshere clubs are Dolphin and Stars Cabaret. Stars is located in Beaverton (just to the west of Portland) there is also the Dolphin 2 nearby out there.
There are tons of strip clubs in Portand, but most of them are not, I repeat, are NOT upscale. Some other great clubs in term of dancers are Acropolis (the busiest strip club in Portland by FAR) and Club 205.
You could probably do a guest spot at either of the Dolphin clubs. Stars seems to be more rigid with their lineup and guest-spots are total no-no at both Acropolis and Club 205.
Anyway, I'll be dancing at 92nd Street Club, which is a hole-in-the-wall, but it gets busy on Saturday nights. The atmoshpere is Blech! It looks like a warehouse, but if you come by, I'm sure you can do a guest spot. Tom, the manager is real cool about that.

I live in Eugene, Oregon, so I don't have any hard and fast advice, but you might try sending a personal message to Orchid, as she does dance in Portland. I have heard (for what it's worth) that Union Jack's isn't bad. For information about Portland clubs try these websites:
    Xmag.com and SFXmag.com

Sorry I'm not of much help. You also might try Jiggles in Tualitin (south of Portland). This club is a juice bar, but when I stopped in I thought that it had a nice decor, even if the girls weren't really the best in Portland. I imagine that this club is overrun with underage performers as Oregon recently passed a law that anyone under 21 may not be in a bar ever. Probably one of the nicest clubs I've ever been to is Star's Cabaret in Salem. However I don't work at this club being as it is so slow.
