Default Body shine or shimmer, but nothing slippery

I have a very toned, musclular body and recently have tanned a nice brown. I was wondering if there was a product I could use to highlight my skin and shape. Nothing slippery, but at the same time I am only dancing on stage with minimal pole work. I would love a glistening look, not necessarily sparkly or glittery, rather a nice glow or shimmer.

Lancome Flash Bronze self tanner makes you shimmer very nicely, but it also makes you smell like self tanner. It is the best smelling self tanner I have encountered, but it still has that smell. It can also rub off on white clothes.

There are also lotions. Nivea Creamy Conditioning lotion is shiny and Nivea also has a Shimmer lotion. Just make sure you wash your hands after applying so it doesn't get all over the pole.

Jergens just made a new Shimmer lotion for like 5 bucks. Just make sure to wash your hands before touching any outfits, it rubs off pretty bad.

i use the Nivea shimmer stuff. i like it b/c it's subtle, not too flashy, just enhances my skin tone and body. it's sexy without being over the top.

hey miss george, i've never heard of the Kama Sutra stuff, where do you get it?

You should be able to find the Kama Sutra products in almost any adult bookstore. The honey dust powder is really cool just like Miss George said looks, smells and tastes good. While you're looking at Kama Sutra products check out their Oil of Love. I have the original flavor. yummy yummy and feels niiiiiiiice!

Check out the 'Barry M' range. They have some nice body-dusting glitters and little jars of glitters that look ace when on the skin. They also come in a HUGE range of colours and sparkles.

On the topic of shimmer powders... Urban Decay has some that give a soft shimmer and taste (and smell) like cake, vanilla, red hots, honey... yum! Sephora has them.

ok I will be the oddball here -

in fabric stores - there is a spray on glitter gel for FABRIC that dries on - no grease - no lotion - but an awesome way to apply a long lasting glitter effect that does NOT rub off greasy on the pole or if you crawl on the floor leave grease marks to slip in - this product is meant for fabric so this lotion factor is eliminated and man it lasts and lasts and LASTS until you shower it off.

Thought I would offer that up.

You can also find this stuff at walmart in the fabric section.

So I take it that you've used this product before? Since it is made for fabrics..I think if you apply this to often you could run the possibility of breaking out. I dont know if this is the case, though..I'm just saying.

To make myself shimmer I buy a really light eyeshadow, a bronzy gold or a shimmery gold and after applying all my make up and whatever I dust it on my body with a blush brush to make me glow. I use it on my chest with low cut shirts when I go out, but when I go to work I just dust lightly and rub it in wherever I want it to be.

I've also used a gold eyeshadow stick, the pencil kind, to make lines on my body and then just rubbed it in until the line disappeared and I glowed in that particular area. This works well for me and doesn't rub onto customers or onto my clothes. The loose stuff has to be used more carefully and rubbed in harder to prevent transfer.

I love using the Lancome Bronzer, but I'm about to start doing the Mystic Tan to get my bronzy glow. Especially for my website photo shoots...

Yup I have used it every show for 20 shows in a week - and no break outs at all - no oil to clog pores yenno? Showered it off nightly - no prob.

Okay, I just checked and Honey Dust powder isn't shimmery. Still very great, but not shimmery, so sorry guys.
I could have swore it was shimmery. Of course it's been over 5 years since I've used it and you just checked.

Well, I think the original poster was inquiring about shimmer, not glitter; two very different animals. Glitter is the devil's dandruff insofar as stripclub customers are concerned.

Something that has worked for me with certain shimmer lotions such as the one from nivea is to cut it with some regular lotion and buff it with a towel once it has soaked in and dried. That way, any of the shimmery part that might otherwise rub off will be taken off. This, again, is *not* glitter. Shimmer lotions do travel a bit if you aren't careful, though.
