    Default Home microdermabarasion kits

I have seen these in ads, but don't know much about them or even about the process if it is done professionally. I remember Brooklyn posting about microdermabrasion helping her stretch marks, but I think it was done in a doc's office and I think she said it was painful. How effective and/or safe are the home kits?

Im sure these are not quite as efective as the ones the doc would do, but also probably alot less painfull. I'm sure there would be no downtime( work) with the home treatment. However more and more companys are using pretty much the same substances as the doc except maybe for the % of acid. Here is a link, check it out...www.SkinRxClinic.com

They aren't like a real microderm. With real your skin is first wiped with alcohol, and then crystals are sandblasted over your face while simultaneously vacuum sucks them up, along with 9 layers of dead skin that's being taken off. You need 5-6 treatments to see the real difference, and need to forever stay out of the sun and wear sunscreen even on cloudy days.
Those home kits are nothing like it. I have one. It's just regular mild exfoliation, and you can achieve the same using $2.99 tube of St. Ives scrub. I paid $29.99 at Sally's a year ago, and the heavy cream with crystals only clogged my pores. Save your money for the real thing.

I as well have been seeing them all over. Wondered myself. Thanks for the info blu, i almost bought one, but thought i could do the same with a sugar scub from home. Damn i don't want to hurt my skin, sometimes it needs pampered!

Actually, I have used one, and it is much better than anything from Sally's. I think real microdermabrasion is a godsend, and the at home kits are simply an adjunct.
