    Default tanning your face

Just wondering for you gals who tan ........do you cover your face? I have never covered it but i am thinking about the wrickle thing. I hate to have to wear makeup all the time but i also don't want to look like a road map at 50. As far as not tanning can't do that it's my relaxation (i have a bed at home) and am not so worried about the body tanning. Just wondering for the gals who cover there face .........do you have to wear makeup all the time or does it look funny> if you do is it hard to get a good match? Just looking for some advice ??? thanks

Naturally your face is darker. I do tan my face, but not nearly for the same length of time as my body. I'm sure there will be plenty of girls who will advise you against it, but I still do up to some point. Tanning in general is just not so good for you. If you're really uncomfortable with the whole face thing, try out some tan in a bottle for the face. There should be some good suggestions from others out there!

BTW, a friend of mine who doesn't tan her face uses darker makeup, and if you experiment to find what works best for you, it should look just fine!

I don't tan in the booth very often anymore but when I do I always cover my face and neck. Wrinkles are not the only concern also hyperpigmentation. I use a self tanner on my face when I fake and bake. Another option besides darker makeup would be the airbrush method. Airbrushing (as opposed to mystic) can be spot applied. Perfect for the face.

I used to work in a tanning salon so I was always tanning. I always covered my face and just bought a very dark loose transparent powder to dust over face (lightly) not only wrinkles are a concern but if you tan a zit it will leave scarring, same for scratches etc. Most people dont realize that the UV rays will penetrate through a cotton towel so try to use something more closely knit ie.T-shirt folded with spf underneath.

shedidwhat, I've considered wearing spf 15 or 30 on my entire body while in the booth instead of accelerator. For some reason, I feel like my tan looks better when it builds up while using sunscreen. Is that a weird idea? (my body tans very quickly)

not at all! actually you are so right the lotion serves as a "canvas" if you will to allow the light to penetrate more effectively and allow you to therefore build up layers of tan. I wouldn't go too high on the body SPF because you could minimize the results but always go exfoliated and lotioned.

Clarins Self Tanner for the face works great, and a little bit goes a really long way.
