    Default AIRBRUSH tanning????

hey every1....has anyone tried airbrush tanning? i know about Mystic tan, where you go in the booth and get sprayed & it takes like 1 minute, i've tried it..but there is airbrush tanning also, where i've seen advertised at my dermotologist's office and the nail salon i go to....im not positive but i think someone personally sprays you with an airbush tan so you get less lines and better, deeper color...but it's also more expensive than mystic tan. mystic is @ $25 a session, airbrush is @ $65 a session. is this worth it? has anyone tried this??

    thanks...

I've known people who tried it and loved it (seems to be starting to be offered a lot here in Reno/Tahoe area). Price I see is closer to $35, though. I've also seen discounts offered to dancers for it where I am.

I can't imaging why it would be more than mystic tan since the intial investment in equipment is signifigantly less. Well, unless you're going to someone who can claim airbrushing J.Lo or Brittney, lol.

I've done the airbrush tan where the girl uses an airbrush and hand sprays you. Since I've never tried Mystic tan I can't compare. I can tell you follow her instructions to a tee...No excercising or sweating (ie no WORKING) for several hours after your treatment. Otherwise you will get horrible streaks. They also sell a special lotion that my girl likes me to apply 30 minutes before a session and after every shower. Some sort of fake tan extender. You can wear a bikini for "tan lines" or go in nude. I opt for the thong tan line. I don't do it very often because I have a difficult time following the directions. I think it's best reserved for the face and neck.

I've heard of it. One way to get a safe ,perfect tan. The drawback is that it's so expensive and lasts only a few days.
Sounds like something you would consider only if you're going in for a photo shoot or a contest.

Actually, if you use the tan extender lotion it lasts for like a week.

I went in earlier tonight for my first Mystic Tan and can tell you now that I prefer the Mystic Tan over the hand airbrush method. It might sound crazy but the Mystic Tan provided more even coverage imo. And it was a helluva lot quicker!

my best girl friend gets the spray-on tan from a tanning salon...i saw her the day after she had it done last time and it was blotchy. darker around the wrists and elbows, for example. the rest of her just looked almost as pale as before.

i don't know about the airbrushing thing yet.

The only time I do airbrushing is when I gotta look dee-vine for photo shoot, but other than that, I have a tanning lotion that makes my skin look like creamy milk chocolate with a hint of caramel. [kisses] [kisses]

Francesca, for the best results you should thoroughly exfoliate your body before going in and don't apply any lotions. They provide a cream for you to put on your palms and cuticles to block the tan also baby wipes to wipe off any excess like on your knees or elbows.

Yeah, mystic is the way to go. You're in the booth for 40 seconds, step out, towel off as if you'd showered and your done! With airbrush I had to stand in front of a damn fan for 5-10 minutes and let it dry and I still got streaks last time.

    $600 unlimited for a year. wow. :o

I've tried it. My boss brought one and wanted to try it on all us girls, it works, makes you very brown, but it gets on your clothes and after a few days you may start to go patchy. I was in New Caledonia when he used it on us, so our skin was dry from the sun anyway, but that was my experience with it.

yeah, you HAVE to use the lotion they give you (with mystic). they tell u to put it on your hands, fingers, wrists, elbows, knees, and the back of your ankles cuz those areas are prone to get darker & streaky. if you use exfoliate thoroughly before tanning & use that lotion they give u, & not sweat/shower after tanning, mystic is the way to go. you just have to get the hang of covering the streak-prone areas with the lotion!

I'm thinking it has to do with the skill of the person actually airbrushing you. My friend came in last night and was *flawless*. I thought it was totally natural. I'm taking the plunge next week from the girl who did here so I'll let you know.

Do airbrush and mystical tans give you that stinky fake tan smell that bottle tans have? I'm trying to give up the tanning booth and use fake tanner instead but even after I wash it off I can still smell it.

You can own your own portable airbrush system, either for personal use or for profit. I've posted the details in the Marketplace, or you can check it out on the web:

Mariah, there's still a smell but it's nothing like the tanning bed.

If yo do it just be sure to go to someone who is good. because even with a airbrush if you don't hold it right ect it can streek . Other wise you can actually use the airbrush tanning to countour like your abs and stuff by making it darker in places

The airbrushers can actually get some sort of certification that they've completed training.
