I've had one done about 5 yrs ago.. Defintely get a good doctor and make sure you get to see pictures of his work.. I mysef have see that plastic looking cookie cutter nose job.. You would want to go for a natural kind of look. Not too painful either..at leastfor me!! Just a bit uncomfortable, cause you won't be able to breathe out of your nose for a while.. It's also swollen and will start taking it's shape maybe around 3 to 4 months after.. They say it takes a whole year for ALL of the swelling to go down

My girlfriend had a horrific experience - please research your doctor big time. She developed necrosis under the cast and in the week she wore the cast the top of her nose actually gangrened and she lost the tissue, leaving a hole and horrible scarring.
She is still in litigation he's since retired and its an uphill battle - no doctor will go against another doctor she can get supporting testimony on the main doctor's inadequacy.
(things are tough with this sueing stuff here in the great white north)

Thing is I knew the doctor's work and as soon as I saw her I said oh my god that was doctor ***** wasnt it??!! Yup.

I told her of my favorite face doctor in Vancouver and she had already seen all kind of doctors that would neither touch the work or quote her 20,000 for repair with no guarantee...
ANyway she went to DMYTRYSHYN in Vancouver and he fixed it - unbeleivable work and better than anyone ever expected, she still bears scars that will be lazered later out this year but that particular doctor is an artist - an absolute credit to the profession.

But the years she had to deal with the damage left their mark, ones you CANT see.

PLEASE be careful dont let price or convenience dictate your decision.

I had mine done 4 years ago, I went to 4 surgeons before choosing and wasnt impressed w/ how they are doing them today(too natural) if I wanted to keep any of my bump I wouldnt even bother to get one, I know several girls who have had them and you cant even tell I told my doctor I want an extreme one because you yourself always think your nose is larger than most people just looking at it, anyhow I am happy evetyone says its a perfect european nose, my sister said its too skinny, my doctor also refined the tip and it looks like a models nose, pictures are great now, the surgery taked and hour and a half he broke my nose , shaved down the bone and made it straight and did the tip which I didnt know he was doing,I only had tape across my nose and long rubber plugs inside and the stitches were inside my nose it didnt hurt at all the worst part was the plugs because I never breath through my mouth( I am a nose breather) and the worst part was takeing out the plugs they were so long, also it took around 2 years to see the complete resuts I look at pictures 6 monthe after then 1 year and like 2 years and I can see the changes its most ntable in pictures, but Iam happy, if you have any more questions or any specifics just let me know.

When you find a surgeon, tell him the look you're trying to achieve.. Everyone has a differentpicture of what they want it to turn out like..Some like a more natural look, and others like that fake look, where you can tell it's obvious they've had work done. It's all a matter of your preference and what will make YOU happy..

Anybody know of any good docs in the Southern California area...That do the "natural" look, not the fake looking nose?

I did mine mid-2001. The doctor was actually a highly esteemed ear, nose, and throat surgeon. I had a really bad deviated septum from previous damage. My insurance paid for the surgery, except for the $2K cosmetic portion.

I knew this guy was good because he did the nose and chin of a family friend. Go to someone that is personally recommended. The results are super SUBTLE..maybe too much so, but its better that they don't do too much work on the tip, ala MJackson. The bump is gone and the nose is narrower, but it doesn't have that cute perk upturn I wanted

The recovery is painful, I hate mouth breathing. Find some xanax in addition to the prescribed stuff because after 3-4 days, most of the surgery pain is gone, and your nose will begin ITCHING and BURNING as it heals.

Finally, I am once again having nasal breathing problems, partially from overwhelming Austin allergies, and maybe I've put something up there a few times (NEVER at work) that might have caused some progress to be lost.....oops!! Yet another great argument against drugs, hehehehe.....
