Default Does $ go up when highlighting dark hair?

Say you are a dark brunette, and you BLEND a few light brownish/blonde extentions in the front and sides. Not to overdo it, but just some lighter strands to lighten the face.

Does your $ increase or do you cheapen dark hair when you blend a lighter color in the front?

I LOVE highlights in any color of hair. Guys really do pay attention to hair so whatever grabs more attention to it the better. I don't know about your money doubling itself but I think it'll help.

Depends, i just went (a few weeks ago) with my blonde on top and very dark undreneath. It's different, but i get LOTS of compliments. I am going to have it cut a little shorter where i have blonde hair, so the dark hangs a tad longer on my back!

I love it! It's a different look, thats why people notice it. And customers will do the same. I went kind of extreme though.

Blonde highlights are in, in all forms. Just check out the harirstyling/cuts magazine. You should find one in there you like.

I think so because it adds pop. Dark hair is beautiful but dark hair in a dark club is not as noticeable as blonde or lighter colored hair becuase the lightness of color makes the style stand out. With my slut blonde streaks in auburn hair people can still see my head across the club. Customers all thinks its neat, it gets attention, and they always want to feel that piece of hair thats standing out so much. Try a few blonde or light auburn streaks in dark hair, you can use clip in extensions, and see don't people notice and/or stare as you walk by in the club.

I think it depends on how many other dark haired girls there are at your club. If you are the single dark haired beauty then leaving it alone can be an asset. I was (for a while) the lone brunette among 40 (!!!) blondes. I did GREAT. Eventually, though, girls started darkening their hair so mine started lightening via extensions.

I had a similar experience to Veronika's. I did very well with dark brown hair. However, the old cliche might apply in this case: if highlighting your hair makes you happier and more confident, you just might make more.

The damage potential that streaking/bleaching/highlighting does to hair was why I mentioned trying clip in extensions first. You can go to a beauty supply store and buy individual tracks and then clip and glue, buy the tracks attached to the teeny combs, or try the tiny little clips ons with little clamps. All ways to get a preview without damaging your hair.

    Defo.
I sometimes used wear long golden-blond, semi-braided extensions in a curly style against my dark complexion. With green contacts, it definitely got me noticed and it gave off a sorta 'Black Barbie' vibe which ALWAYS made me £££! Great if you're the only chick lookin' so fly like that in the club!!!
(and my old house mom who NEVER gave out compliments actually complimented it. That, I say, was a good sign!!).

Thanks for the responses so far!

Since I will never use chemicals on my hair again (bad experiences) I will be using bonded extensions to create the highlighted look.

I have bunches of colors of hair ranging from darker blonde to the lightest bleached blonde.

I have very dark brunette hair. Do you think it looks good when dark hair is mixed with not just a 'light auburn' (extension haircolor #27) but with one of the lightest bleached blonde extension colors (either #'s 16, 18, 22). I don't know if really dark hair looks tacky with really blonde extensions in the mix w/dark. Of course the very top of my hair and bangs will be dark--and I don't want that punk look.
    Thanks ~N

The girl who did my hair went crazy with the super light extensions and I think it looks tacky. I'm having her fix it on Tuesday. I like the auburn to medium blonde streaks on dark brown hair. Those super light blonde streaks "pop" too much in the club light.

ANYTHING that makes you individual is good, if you are the only brunette keep it that way, it makes you unique.

Also, remeber that most guys do not see "you", they see your hair and your clothes etc. I've had nights that I have danced for someone, gotten on stage, changed in the dressing room, and the guy didn't realize I was the same girl that just danced for him.
It's good to stay consistant and recognizable, because it brings back repeat customers who are looking for your "type"

Which beauty stores? I went to Sally and they do not have this, except for in wild punk colors. Where, or where, do they have these in natural colors!
