    Hey chicks,
hope everyone out there is doing well.
Need help with choosing facial tanner.
I have mild acne, with some dry flaky, peeling areas no matter how much I expholiate. I am wondering if tanner will leave uneven spots on my face even if I apply it nightly, Which ones won't make me break out, and how much they cost. also if anyone has tips on how to make my skin behave, it would be well appreciated.
    Thanks
    Fawn

If you skin is dry the tanner will come off when you skin peels, I would say wait till you skin is more even then try it. You could always just use a bronzing powder in the meantime for some extra colour...

Krys is right, if your skin has dry patches, the patches will flake off taking the tanner with it, and maybe leaving you with patches. Not good.

What your skin needs is moisture, there is a toipc on how to help fix up some dry skin here in Body Business.

But for now, i would go with a powder bronzer, because it does not flake off. But don't rub your face on a guys shirt

When your skin is hydrated, and not peeling in spots anymore go to a rich smooth self tanner.

PS maybe have the acne checked out since that can be a problem with peeling skin when a pimple heals up.

    Good luck

I think I have combination skin, 'cause it's really oily in some places but dry in others. I've only tried one powder bronzer, it was like $1.00 in the cheap section, It looked like crap, and made my face look oily for some reason as soon as I put it on. I was a powder formula.
    What gives?

Probably Fawn because you have combination skin. Usually the T zone of our faces tend to hold more oil. Your best bet would to be a water based foundation, no OIL in it, and a very dry powder. you know a models trick is to use brown (or the same colour family.) eye shadow, powder of course, because they are made to not have oils in them, so our eye makeup wont crease or smear.

You might want to try that, just make sure the product contains no oils.

I think I've figured out why you have this mild acne. Your OVER exfoliating! Since you have some flaky areas of skin on your face, you probably have combination skin. I think you should stick to a gentle facial cleanser. I have combination skin just like you do. Right now I'm using dove soap, queen helene's mint juleup cleansing lotion and st. ives apricot facial scrub. I also use witch hazel on my face. Since winter is approaching ( well in some areas it's already here) try to only exfoliate 2x weekly at the max.

Regardless of how many facial products you use to fix your face, nothing will help more than high quality H2O! it's natures way of flushing your body of harmful toxins. Also try to eat more healthy, start taking a multivitamin to fill in any gaps of nutrition you may miss out on everyday. If these suggestion, and the suggestions of others on this forum dont help, it may be in your best interest to seek the professional treatment of a dermatologist.

I use Lancome's powder bronzer. It works wonders! I also use their face tanner gel. I love it. I agree with the other girls that you should wait for your face to stop flaking to use it.
