    Default Working without a tan

My skin is very, very fair, and I have worked with and without a tan, and noticed that it either didn't make a difference, or I fared even better au naturel. Someone told me once that my beauty is in porcelain skin, pink nipples and rosy cheeks, and it stuck in my mind. Anyone else here does better tanless?

I do well without tanning but I'm black!

Besides, I actually know a black fellow dancer who naturally is darker than me (can't be hard, I'm actually quite fair) and she uses a sunbed. Her opinion - the guys love darker skin and it makes her look more exotic. I think that's just where we come from though. There aren't so many black girls anyway so I think it may help in her case.

But if tanless works for you, that's great. I like pale skin on the right people. Gives a feminine, English rose look which is sexy. It means you don't have to splash out on fake tan or go on toasty holidays to keep your money-making looks!

I worked with a gal who was extremely pale (even more so than me! ); her name was 'snow'--because of skin color folks not the other!-- and worked quite well on her! She had the porcelin skin thing down, made her look "doll-like"...i thought very pretty! I also choose to not tan(fair, do not want skin cancer, skin breaks out BAD w/ self tanners!) it helps me stand out...white skin, super light-light blonde...play up what you got!!

Well with the way you described yourself Blu, "porcelain skin, pink nipples, rosy cheeks", you sound delicate and beautiful. You shouldn't worry about tanning, and yes, Ive gone both ways. From quite pasty white ( I on the other hand, don't like my paleness) to a nice brown. I guess I never noticed a difference in my earnings. I guess I just feel slimmer being tan.

Yep, I knew a black dancer who tanned! Every once in a while she'd whine, "Oh, I'm getting too light!", and I'd pull her next to me to the mirror and we'd laugh! But then she says dark skin can look ashy, so tanning makes it bronze. I don't know... Didn't see much difference. I love naturally dark skin. It's got this gorgeous sheen to it.

The only other dancer I know who didn't tan was gothy looking. She was so lovely to look at. So different. She had this Betty Page look going, and dressed the part. Sadly, later she sold out and changed, thinking she can make more money.

You're all right. Gotta stand out somehow, especially now that it's so competitive.

    PS Megan, love your pic.!

If you are afraid of skin damage I would suggest going to a tanning salon that has beds that put out 99% UVA rays. They are more expensive than the beds that have UVA & UVB rays, but very worth the extra $$ for pale people. I also have extremely pale skin. I still put SPF 45 on my face and upper neck every day (including when I go to the tanning salon). I noticed a positive difference in my earnings when I started tanning a few months ago. Now I am able to wear lighter clothing which accentuates my curves in the club without looking like a total ghost.

I have fair skin also and I have worked tan and untanned and I don't really notice a diff in the $$, but when I am paler I do get compliments. You know what else I found a lot of guys to like?? Tan lines..regular or brazilian bathing suit tan lines..I was so worried when I came back from vacation and didn't have time to tan the rest of me b4 I started working and I had SO many guys tell me how much they loved regular tan lines!! They said it makes them think that I am a normal girl and a little modest by wearing a reg bathing suit..who knew?? :-/

I actually make more money without a tan, but some clubowners like you to tan.

I always figured it was so dark in the club no one could tell that much anyway, I just stay away from the tan LINES.

I get really "bronze" in the summer too. But I dont think I'll ever hit the tanning salon to keep it up. I like my caramel skin just fine thank you !

I have worked both ways, doesn't seem to make a difference. Right now I'm almost completely tanless, and I'm a super white whitey. Seems to make me stand out even more than I already do - DD's in a club full of small tits, plus white skin in a club full of tans...I stick out like a sore thumb
In this same club, I've worked with a super tan, and that also worked well, as the tourists all though I was local. Guess the only diff it makes for me in this club is which customers I attract the most of, but $$-wise it seems to make no diff.

I rarely tan, maybe once every month or 2 during the winter. Club lighting generally smoothes out the tone of your skin. All the cigarette smoke in the club is hell on your skin, it's like smoking two packs a day. I've seen girls who've been dancing for 6 years who have faces like a shoe. The last thing I want to do is dump more UV light on it, it will make me look a little better now but how will I look later? Keep in mind that the black lights at the club are UV as well and you're under them all night long. So I keep it to a minimum. I tan very little, with my work thong on and a towel over my face. (This actually looks okay because your face is generally darker then your body anyway) That way I hope to minimize the damage.

Good eye Veronica! Also the question about being flat-chested, that is also copied on another thread.

OMG. I thought that sounded familiar. I was just at that site the other day. I agree, very good eyes(and memory for that matter )
So what's up with that? Why copy something from someone else's site? ???

I didn't remember enough about stripper faq to realize that's where it came from, but I was just reading that post and thinking it didn't sound like her usual postings. Why not post your own words? Why copy someone else's without telling where you got it?

Peculiar. I would have thought that maybe she would be trying to post some helpful advice from Stripper Faq but that it didn't cross her mind to leave the credit to the website or even a link. I can't see any reason or benefit as to why she would make them her own words. A lot of people have read that site before (myself included).

But then again, maybe I'm wrong. It just makes no sense.

Yeah, it was an honest accident, Naomi didn't mean to pass it off as her own words. If you read Making Money in Hustle Hut, you'll see why.

Goes to show that I'm not always wrong after all! Just girlfriends helping out others. That's what I like to see!

I HATE not being tanned. For me, not having a tan is like being beyond naked! Superexposed. For the past 3 years I have been dancing, I have been tan the whole time except for a week when I was really ill. Even though tanning is not good for your skin, I just feel healthier and slimmer. But for the past year I have not been to the tanning salon once. My uncle had a melonoma and it just scared me off. I use a self-tanner, called "Sun." The smell isnt bad at all and I think it's natural looking. I'm definitely not as dark as when I went to the tanning salon, but I kind of have to suck it up. I figure if I can stay tan and save my skin in the meantime, then I'm happy. I love being tan.
