Have any of you ladies tried Botox??? What were the results???

Yes actually,I just had it done the end of september,it was 400,he did my forehaed,in between my eyes and around my eyes,I actually went in to get a consult for my eyes and he said well if you try this it will tell you if you need your eyes done because it will indeed open them up,my ass,it was a waste of money, for me anyways,I really didnt have any forhead wrinkling before and none around my eyes, also, its almost completley worn off and its only been 2 months,I have heard others have better luck with it,I guess it just depends how much wrinkling you have thata attributed to muscles.
If you're a dancer... you're probably in your thirties at the most right? You probably don't even need it! I just read an article on all this surgery stuff. I'm totally against it now... maybe until I'm past forty

There are teenagers that get botox,it just depends on how many wrinkles you have,Iam 34,got it done when I was still 33,it did nothing ,but I dont have many wrinkles,if you have the ones in between the eyes(frown furrows) it will take those away, but for me it did nothing, look on different web sites, they have before and afters, you will see alot of young women getting it,because it is for people who have small wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes,so if you have enough it will help.
TEENAGERS?!

Yes,look on some of the before and after sites,I saw a few that described the pics as teenager, also I saw on a tv show, they were doing a demonstration on a teenager, its ridiculous, they want you to think even teenagers should get this done, same thing with 16 year old girls getting implants now.

You dont need that stuff. Just keep a good skin care regimine and you should be fine. I hate how people always think of "quick fixes" everything comes at a price. Anyway, lately on the news, they've been saying that most of these doctors giving these botox treatments are diluting the treatment. So you are gettin botox and water..Then on 20/20 a lil while back, some people were having face reactions to injections in their middle brow area. It's so not worth it.
Just continuing to eat a balanced diet, drink lots of water, exercise, and avoid to much alchohol consumption, and you should be fine.
I'm lucky, I mean I have a family of beautiful women. No one has wrinkles...not even my greatgrandma...How blessed am I : o)

I tried it a couple of months ago. I am 36 years old and have a wrinkle on my forhead which really annoys me. It did not get rid of the wrinkle but the lady did not give me very much because it was just my first time. I think that it is important to go to a place that specializes in cosmetic surgery only. There are tons of places like that in Vegas. I will be going back to the same place again and get a regular amount the next time. No reputable medical professional would give someone a regular amount on the first time. It takes time to get used to. Botox is basically a preventative treatment although it can relax the wrinkles significantly over time.
I did not start wearing sunblock on my face every day until I was 25 years old. That is why I have some sun damage on my forhead. Sunblock and lots of water are the most important things for good looking skin.

I also heard it works for overactive sweat glands. My hands and feet sweat like a son of a bitch! Has anyone heard of it being used to paralyze sweat glands? And if so, how long and how well does it work?

Botox is starting to treat many conditions now! I think that is good. I work with a woman who get botox for headaches! And another who can't live without her injections. Kinda funny though, when she laughs, parts of the face don't move, it looks so strange. Some people have asked if there is something wrong with her. She has no expression.
It can be rather addictive i have learned.

Usually they dont do the whole forehead as it will actually make your eyebrows lower because it relaxes the muscles,so you should still have movement,I could move every part of my forehead and around my eyes,I actually went back telling him it didnt work, but I do believe they water it down, the way to know is if the needle is already pre filled and ready to go when you go in the room, mine was,I think its a waste of money if you dont have deep forhead lines caused my muscle actions,as this is the only type of wrinkles it helps,it doesnt really do anything for sun damaged skin, unless its in the area of the wrinkes that are caused from muscle movement, aslo they can and do give you full dosage your first treatment, usually 1 cc,it wont hurt, because over time your body build up anti bodies to it and you will eventually need more and more each time, usually every three months,so expect to spend around 600-800 each treatment once your body gets use to it.
I also think I read somewhere that it may take a couple of tries to relax the wrinkle and let the new, unwrinkled skin, surface?

Well I'm 22 and I have been getting Botox for 2 years. I love the results. What a lot of people don't realize is that it's preventative. That's why I chose to do it. No wrinkles now and hopefully no wrinkles when I'm 50!!!
IN FACT.... I go to "Botox Parties" there is a doc. in Boston who hosts these soirees at his office. They include champagne, espresso, pastries and other treats as well as a shot of Botox! It's great!

I saw on 20/20 or dateline (whatever) that those "botox parties" aren't good for you. It said the reason this is so because with any procedure, you need to have a consultation. When you go to these little parties, he's just injecting and moving on. And anyway what makes you think you wont get wrinkles when you are older? The stuff does wear off. You dont even know the long term side effects of this drug. Hopefully you wont' be looking like your 50 when your 29..

I'm not so sure you know what the product does. It's not permanent. The stuff wears off in 3-6 months. As for the long term side effects, there are none unless inproperly injected and it paralyzes your face. I trust my doctor. I've been doing this for a while now and am well aware of the effects if something did go wrong. Same as any medical procedure. BA is risky but people do it all the time.
The "botox parties" aren't any different than a scheduled appointment either. It's not soup kitchen style where random people line up, get shot up, pay their money and leave. You have to have an appointment and obviously if you are a first-time client he will insist on some extra time for a consult. Although it's a simple, non-invasive procedure it's still a medical procedure. Precautions are taken. Look like I'm 50 when I'm 29?? How do you figure??

Actually, some surgeons were doing the paties out of office, which is not in a medical setting, thats why they are saying they can be bad, also, you are not suppose to drink alcohol, prior to,or 24 hours after,so critics were ranting about that also, usually you are only invited if you are already an on going patient, anyways,I have read articles that they are finding that botox actually may cause more wrinkles because it is causing other muscles to work harder due to the paralized ones,I guess we will see in the coming years if this is the case.
guess we will
yeah, i heard that too. i saw on some show women getting botox in their armpits right before their weddings so they wouldnt sweat. but what i'm wondering is...the sweat has to come out somewhere, right?? so would it be like locked up in your body or would you sweat from somewhere else (rather than the area you got botox-ed)???I also heard it works for overactive sweat glands. My hands and feet sweat like a son of a bitch! Has anyone heard of it being used to paralyze sweat glands? And if so, how long and how well does it work?

Yeah,thats something to think about.
