first, apply a thin layer of glue to the fake lashes

let the glue set for 30 to 60 seconds so it becomes tacky. Applying the lashes immediately after you apply the glue is a no no because the glue is too slippery.

Apply the lashes as close as possible to your lash line. There is still time for readjustment because the glue is not yet totally set.

    practice practice practice!

before you know it, you'll be a pro

oh yeah, I forgot...before you apply the glue you should bend the lash strip into a horseshoe a couple times. It makes it easier to curve to your lid.

I usually apply the inner corner first but thats a matter of preference.

When you remove hold the lid taut and peel off in the direction of outer lid to inner lid.

I heard over that fake lashes will eventually thin out or break off your natural lashes. Is this true? I want to try them but that really makes me nervous.

I think as long as you apply the falsies to the lashline and not the actual lashes you should be okay.

I use mine only twice, three times at the most. Re-using them can cause infection. I don't apply mascara to the lashes and always peel off the glue before re-using.

I use mine till they get ratty looking. I wasn't aware of an infection potential. The glue peels right off. I only apply mascara to them once in a blue moon, when I really need them to look natural, as they won't last as long. I've never considered washing them; I wonder if you could spray them with alcohol? hmmmm...

I don't like the DUO adhesive. It's super stinky and I have a difficult time removing it from my eyes. I use the Ardelle brand with good results.

I love the MAC lashes and haven't had any problems. It's better if you can take your time and not rush, otherwise, they end up uneven and it will drive you crazy trying to fix them. I am partial to the DUO glue but I've never tried the Ardelle kind. I know some girls who love it! Anyway, don't put mascara on them and as long as they look decent you should be able to wear them with no problems. As for the alcohol? Hm.... I guess you could spry them with it. I'll try it and let everyone know the results!

A good way to tack down the lashes once they are on is to get one of those pointed-on-one-end Q-tips that they sell in beauty supply stores and (I think) Wal-mart
(mainly for makeup apps) and push the lash into place using the pointed end (of course). These also help for middle-of-the-shift repairs if you didn't put on enough glue in the first place-just put a little glue drop on the end of the pointed Q-tip and reappply to the part of the lash that has come up from your eye. Been using the things for 5 yrs-SO much easier on my eyes than mascara, and so much sexier-the only problem is that I don't feel fully "done" if I don't have them on Good Luck!

Argh! Fake lashes are a nightmare! I just put on heaps of mascara and do the 'wings' effect with my eyeliner. Gives a good effect.

I wear mine until they are on the last leg. I wouldn't think there would be much more chance of infection than eyeliner or mascara, but I could be wrong.

well after much practice i am getting gooood at putting on these bastards. i like the MAC ones. the chick that sold them to me said "they are the most natural looking ones." they look so damn sexy....a makeup artist friend of mine applied them on me using a TWEEZER, and this helped ALOT. now i use tweezers whenever i put them on, to press the base of the fake lashes onto the base of my real lashes. it works. thank you all so very much for the tips.

Tanya-Jo -- you can buy Ardell and Duo eyelash glue at Sallys Beauty Supply, Savon, and Walgreens. I use Duo glue and I have a great pair of tweezers by La Cross. I put some glue on the tweezers and then dab it on the base of the false lashes.
