Default Going back after surgery...how long did...

...did it take before you went back to work after being augmented? I know i shall listen to my doc (begrudgingly--if that's a word!--not wanting to), and wait the 6 weeks, but i may wait a tiny bit longer...despite the fact i am really white-knuckling the wait. i have tremendous energy(some would say AADD)and can't hardly sit still. PLUS, lol, duh...i want to show off "the girls"!!!
i did know a few that waited only 3 weeks!!
--that will not be me, however i am curious to know how long each of you waited? i do know to listen to my body so please don't anyone yell at me for replacing your responses with doc's orders or anything of the like...just curious, and burning energy here! [wave]
    ~thank you, winter

Considering what you paid for the operation don't you think you should take their advice? If you bought something that took 6 weeks to become operational and violate the terms you automaticly void the warranty. I say it's better to be safe than to be sorry.
Even as that time approaches use common sense. If you notice any adverse signs ,cut back on the activity.

there was a girl at my club that was very anxious to dance after surgery and it was like 2-3 weeks later. She's a very physical dancer too. Anyway, she had to replace one already. She just got them in May! I'm not sure about all the details since she left the club (and I'm assuming dancing).

I'm getting my boobs done in December (right before Christmas) and I already told my club I more than likely won't be returning back to dancing til at least the middle of February. I need the downtime and I want them to fully drop before my return on stage. And I won't be featuring as well for a while. And they both understand! So, take the time off and take it easy.

Winter, are yours over or under the muscle? Unders usually take longer to heal and are more painful. They also look weird until they drop, usually 2 months. I'd say don't go back to work before 6 weeks. I'd take 2 months to be safe, but I know how it is to want to show off "the girls". Take it easy when you do go back to work, no fancy pole stuff.

I waited 1 month to go back to work. I got overs. I was fine except I couldn't do my normal dancing on stage. Have to take it easy - you're not supposed to work those upper body muscles for 6 weeks. If you can manage to take it easy on stage, no pole work AT ALL, and avoid any moves that work your upper body muscles, especially pecs, you could probably go back to work after a month.

I work with two girls who also got theirs done recently, and they were both back to work in about 4 weeks. One of whom got unders. I asked my doc about working, and he told me I should be fine in 4 weeks, but to take it easy, no upper body workouts and no heavy use of those muscles at work for 6 weeks. I got mine in April and they're perfectly fine.

I'm going under the muscle, and I won't be doing any fancy dancing for a while. I may return to work within a 3-4 week period, but I'll only return as a sitter. And my doctor told me I would be fine within a month, but knowing I do a lot of pole work, I'll be sitting out much longer.

I'm in the same boat as Bridgette, waiting 4 weeks after getting over the muscle implants. With unders, there is a lot of individual variation as to how long it takes the muscle covering to relax so they don't look like a "stuffed turkey", how long it takes the cut muscle tissue to heal so you don't have restricted movement etc. Typically under the muscle recovery time is 6 weeks, although this may extend to 8 weeks for a fair percentage of girls.

Thanks to all ! i got under the muscle, and i have a kid who weighs @ 15lbs...and i have been picking him up, after a week! so...i hope all is well, my doc says she couldn't imagine a mother waiting/ being ABLE to wait! lol, but after reading Brigette's post...i better call her...so far they look great and have started to drop already, it's just getting used to having BOOBS! lol, flat as a pancake my whole life now i got some c/d's--can't tell size yet-- i'd love to come back in 6, but alas, like i said i have concluded to wait after holidays(unfortunately...'cause i know this is the best time $$$ wise)...but, i wanted responses to help keep me in check, for i tend to jump the gun and become impatient!

A girl at work came back to work to soon (befour they healed all the way) anyway she feel at work, totally messed up one breast. Dr. didn't have to fix!!! He told her to wait, to return to work. So now one breast is higher than the other. If you go back to work be careful.

    I had under,too. I had take a break for 3 months.

I had areola incision and it took me some time to heal.

I was wondering does anybody has experience in 2nd sets of implants?

I have 270cc and I am plannig to get 450cc. How long do I need to a break this time?

Jade, I have unders too so I know how painful it was for that muscle to heal. I started out with 300 cc's. A year after my BA I had a lift so I also know how painful it was for the areola incisions to heal. Two months after my lift I decided to upgrade and got 525 cc's. The second surgery is not near as painful because they don't have to cut any muscles. I was feeling perfectly fine in a week. It doesn't take near as long for them to settle either.

    Hi! KObi

Thank you for your info. Did you go to the same surgeon for your second sets?

I am not too sure if I would go back to my first surgeon.

If I get under arm incision how long do you think I have to take a break before I go back to work?

Is 270cc to 450cc worth all the trouble? Currently I am D cup but I have been loosing weight and they don't look as full as it used to be.

Upgrad or not upgrade that is the problem.

Yes, I went back to the same surgeon, he even discounted me on his rates. I was happy with his work the 1st time and the lift. If you are not satisfied with your surgeon's work, look elsewhere. If you are go to him rather than chance another surgeon's work.

I never had an under arm incision, but I don't think it is painful.

I checked out a lot of before and after photos at www.implantinfo.com to decide how many cc's I wanted. I gave my Dr. a range (between 500 & 550 cc's) and he stopped at 525 during the surgery because that's what looked good. On the web site I made sure to check out girls with bodies similar to mine.

Going by my 2nd surgery, I'd say you can go back to work in a week, as long as you take it easy. Remember, every girl is different and you might not heal as fast as me. Ask your doctor too and definitely take his advice.

Oh yeah, and if you are currently losing weight, I'd wait until you are at your ideal weight and keep it for awhile before having another surgery. That way it is easier for you to figure out what size looks best on you and will fill out your skin. Losing and gaining weight just destroys our ta-ta's!

Kobi, what kind of lift did you have? Benelli or Anchor? Are the scars noticeable?

I had a benili lift 1 1/2 yrs. ago. No, the scars aren't noticable. I can see them in the regular light (barely), but not in SC lighting. It hurt like a bi***!!!!

Dreamer, um, do i not include enough disclaimers? do i need to hire an attorney for my transcrpits??? Geeezee dude...first..if you would read correctly i asked for those who have had the operation, of breast augmentation...so therefore i can conclude(falsely--duh) that you YOURSELF have had your breasts done? please reread my post PLEASE...for i said this is not in place of doctors orders, or anything SOUND...i was asking the LADYS when they went back!
You know, people post on this web site to get affirmation of their struggles. I thought that was what I was doing. My advice is for an operation, whether it's a BA or tonsilectomy doesn't make a difference. If you wanted only LADIES to respond, why didn't you post in the LADIES ONLY section?

okay..you are the 1st person to really tick me off!
Doesn't take much now does it?

it's like you did not read but what you wanted to read into the subject! good lord! i can understand being misinterpreted, but i KNOW you completely missed the point of my question!!!--next time i am putting this on ladys only forum for those of us who cannot read.
If getting responses from people who fall short of your desired level of expertise pisses you off then you are condemning yourself to living the remaining years of your life as an angry woman.

You know Bridgette, you're absolutely right. Telling the truth is very nitpicking and annoying and you will find it that way if you don't want it.
I call things as I see it. If it annoys others then so be it. Please , no apologies requested or given. Just choose what you want to make of it.
